Why would the range be less than the previous sale price? Sounds a bit off from the beginning...

Yeah, real estate agent got a scare when he called us asking if we had any offers and we said we knew it had sold for 600 previously...he spouted some shit about them being desperate to get rid of it, prolly to cover his ass.

Oil return line to Turbo? I have swapped that already sadly.

I should probably also say that it looks like it's dropping on the front sway/running down the sump.

Can it be anything other than the front main and/or oil pump gasket?

Don't see why they would be load-based however.

What do you mean A4 sized oil leak? Bruh cars oil pressure usually rises with revs, you should know this. More pressure = More likely to leak

If it's coming from the front then it's likely to be Cam seals or Crank seal.

Yeah I figured it was pressure related, but wasn't really sure how more pressure wouldn't just cause something to fail fully.

What I meant by a4 sized, is that the patch on the plastic cover under the engine (under the sump etc) is about the size of an A4 sheet of paper.

Don't know much about oil (of all the problems Ive had this one is new)

Cams all look dry, well rocker covers at least. Nothing is oily above where the Harmonic balancer is, so I figure it has to be the crank seal, but again, don't really know shit and could very easily be something else I never knew about

so ive been thinking of what JayZ passed on to us, and im not sure of his situation.

Did he have bitches, and that theyre not a problem or that he didnt have bitches therefore they werent a problem?

Sometimes it's hard to see a cam seal leaking, usually you'll see it down the side of the lower cover and pooled around the crank. It's all about finding the highest point that the oil is leaking from, oil can't drip upwards after all.

Both

He was saying that bitches present no problem for him, when he has them and when he doesn't.

Are you sure it's oil and not ps fluid?

It was originally gold, and I thought it was trans fluid (Transmax Z is gold) but it was just new oil as it gradually got darker, and the fact all the PS stuff was completely spared. It also gets all over the hard trans lines and where they connect to rubber joiners so I've had many "Ah I bet its just XYZ!" to be found no, sorry, it is not XYZ.

This is what I thought too, the highest oil was on the merge point of the top and lower cover, I can't think of anything else it really could be, hence the post because I r n00b

    • That's probably OK. That's a face to face compression joint between two surfaces with the clamping load provided by those bolts. So.... it's unlikely that the bolts will end up feeling that load in shear, unless the clamping surfaces are not large enough, bolts not got enough tension on them, etc etc to prevent the two faces from moving wrt each other. Which... I would hope the designers have considered, seeing as it's probably one of the most important things the upright has to do apart from resist collapsing in its own right. But yes, it would definitely be worth asking them what their safety factor on that part of the design was. I tend to think that the casting, being a casting, is not necessarily the strongest bit of material in the world. It's about an inch square, and when you think about the loads that are being put into it, you have to wonder what safety factor the Nissan boys (and every other OEM engineer who has designed all the millions of other uprights that look essentially the same) used to account for defective casting, aging, severe impacts on the wheel, etc etc.
    • Those bolts would be orders of magnitude stronger that cast aluminium though.  And its mainly clamping force, not shear they are dealing with?
    • Except all that twisting force that is breaking a cast piece, appears to be going through 4 bolts in the picture Johnny posted of the BryPar one...
    • The smart approach is to use the gearbox loom from the manual car. Makes it a lot easier - just plugs into the switches on the box and plugs into the main loom up near the fusebox. Then you only need to deal with bypassing the inhibit switch. The other approach requires you to use the wiring diagram to identify those wires by colour and location, perhaps even indulging in a little multimeter action to trace them end to end to make sure, and then.... you will have the answers you need. The R34 wiring diagram is available on-line (no, I do not have a link to it myself - I would have to do a search if I wasn't able to go to the copy I have at home).
    • Hi, i’m converted my r34 4dr auto to manual but need help with gearbox wiring. There are bunch of wires no idea which one for speedo drive, neutral, reverse can anyone help me. IMG_6860.mov
