Does not compute, does not compute

Was SST though

Also drove housemates SR20... also does not feel laggy.

Honestly kind of made me think the RB25 is pretty f**king laggy for the capacity, given how good other 2.0's actually seem to be relative to it

Felt a bit like the 2.5 Subaru engines being 2.5 to keep up with Mitsu's 2.0

You have a huge turbo on yours though, don't you?

Can't compare response with nearly twice the power

After driving a slightly Modified 8MR, then getting back in my car, off boost wasn't as annoying for me anymore

once im running boost ill take you for a spin. not sure what you interpret as "lag" but big cams certainly hold things back (until on boost...)

driving car home tomorrow :) been a busy few days on it.

that's cos it got outsourced to the singaporeans, same as citylink.

If there's one thing Singaporeans can do, it's build shit

Using people from the rest of the world

Car related question: do I need gasket sealant to install a catback..? or is it recommended..? or just the gaskets good enough, keeping in mind it's a cheap-ish x-force exhaust..

net glitched out.

got locked out of our NAB business account.

account is in my name and partners name.

nab acknowledges that i am also on the account, wont give me a new password.

partner is currently OS.

daf**k man.

Couldn't tell you what to do without being at work. End of the day it will all come down to what paperwork you signed when you at the account up initially. If it says both ID's required then you's in for a bad time

Not really that huge given the difference in displacement, but I guess its gonna be noticeable at under 100kmhs in any case.

260RWKW in a SR20 did NOT feel laggy. It was enough to kick the back out at 30kmh in 3rd at part throttle, boost is pretty much on any time you hit the throttle.

I guess it depends on how much powarz you are making on your SR20, the example I was using is a GTX2863R at about 260RWKW, but at the same time feels like its the sweet spot, would lack traction at much more than that, and just get lag for no real benefit.. in that specific setup.

it is entirely possible my car is a complete clusterf**k nugget

At least you're out of the way for Headspec to start on mine now, i.e replace a head gasket so I should be good to go in 2021.

lol. yes it did take a very long time for me to get my car in there, but was kinda my fault it took a good part of a week to get it out the door. thank you for your patience. (but also keep in mind ive been on the imaginary waiting list for many months).

similar power on same-ish turbo. but big cams, FWD and less weight. traction only an issue if driven like a muppet.

dont give up on car just yet, may need an open mind to overcome some gremlins though.

tbh I have ordered the gasket and studs but they haven't arrived yet. Will be keen to see what actually happened, as it was picked by my keen spidey sense of "SOMETHING IS NOT RIGHT" which has been honed by destroying everything over the years.

I may end up going a 1.06 rear "just because" because HS believe that I've lifted the head due to backpressure, even though you'd think a .82 on a GTX35 would be enough to get the air out.

But then again, who knows what'll happen once it comes apart. I will be pretty keen to see what studs were actually in the engine, if they were ARP2000's after all then they were under-torqued on the blueprint.

If its only that, I'll be a happy f**kin camper lol

from what I've heard (and its all second-hand info if you know what I mean), the last motor was bit warped and you're running stock head gasket on a big power/boost 2.8 setup? i know its a metal gasket, but thats a lot of boost. Tony runs factory, but he's got a big-ass turbo with less boost.

there is talk of an underlying issue that hasnt been addressed causing this warping. wont know till its torn apart.

As it should be

And greg pls...no car is kicking out at 30km/h in 3rd gear without a clutch dump on shot tyres in the rain!

There's nothing magical in the Jap 2 litre engines, unless very high comp and E85, that's going to make them more responsive or less laggy than a 2.5 with similar top end power. I'm yet to drive one more responsive than my 2.5 that doesn't die in the ass after the mid range cause of its tiny turbo...happy to be shown otherwise...

    • What 1.5 way? There's no such thing really as a 1.5 way, just different ways of explaining 2 ways with different ramp rates. HOWEVER. In any driving in a straight line your 1.5 or 2 or 1.7 way should have no clunking at all. With the clutch fully depressed the diff should be silent (unless it's welded but I'm assuming it's not). Something aint right here.
    • Clutch is a spec brand, new clutch system,( PP, flywheel, friction disc, etc. pull type) installed 100 miles ago, with no problems.
    • looking for some help and maybe some insight on others experience with a new LSD. R34 GT ran and drove beautifully, but always alot of grip loss due to the open R200 rear end, so I just installed a new 1.5 LSD way into the stock open R200 for a ER34. Simple. Everything seemed right. I test drove for the first time this weekend. as I started to back out the garage the first time slowly with tires straight it sounded and felt like I had a loose or half disconnected drive shaft...that was clucking around loose and shaking entire vehicle, and making it feel like the trans clutch was spontaneously slipping then grabbing very roughly while just letting out pedal slowly. I backed it out went to pull forward with the same noise, shake and slip grab feeling with hesitation, I turned the tires to back out more and then pulled ahead some same thing but worst because of added wheel resistance (which that I expected) puzzled … pulling it back in checking everything over and finding nothing wrong, I tried it the next day. same thing, couldn’t believe how it shook everything again making a terrible noise and making it feel like the trans clutch was slipping and grabbing, but I got it out of garage into the driveway, got it straight, drove forward and then reveres a few times in a straight line everything shaking , causing what felt like clutch slip and grab every time, sounded like right behind front driver tire and I could feel it in the floor board with my feet,... worst right when beginning to let clutch pedal out to engage slightly, shuttering and sounding terrible along the way…I managed to slowly get down the road, babying it the whole way, once I was rolling (out of 1st) seemed to be better and between shifts, then clutch felt closer to normal…not slip/ grab etc., but back down to any stop, straight road or turning, same thing. Made no difference if all tires were straight or if I was turning. All other gauge read out correct. with in 2 miles as planned I reached the empty parking lot and performed the break in procedure that came with lsd, essentially to drive in a figure 8 a bunch.  Did this, binding chattering, and shaking the car the whole way. I drove it back home seemed somewhat normal once I was in straight line and past 10 mph or so, and I know it will “bind” on corners and cause some tires squeal when turning especially from a stop, but when I begin to move it still causes what feels like the trans clutch to slip and jerk badly as well as shaking the entire car, and sounds terrible, that I didn’t expect. I used the fluid they supplied with LSD kit and did the breaking, planning to change fluid as they suggest after breaking, but wondering will it get smoother or less aggressive with use? maybe a 1.5 is just too aggressive for normal road driving?   I have a LSD that I put in my 71 cuda when I restored it, with amazing smooth , quite yet effective results. Different style LSD but that ones a joy to drive. maybe expecting too much from this R200?
