Hi Jason,

Come & Try CAMS Licences are only available to competitors who are new to motorsport and have never had a CAMS License before. So you'll need to renew your CAMS License in the standard way at http://www.cams.com.aubefore the event date. If possible do it asap, as it sometimes takes a few days to send out the new membership cards in the post.

So what are the entry requirements for the social sessions? Do we require a helmet, fire extinguisher, anything else?

Same as the timed sessions.

Clothing ankle to wrist, fire extinguisher in the car, helmet.

Im in, just entered. A lot of smooching has occurred of the past few weeks to get approval from the boss to attend. My car has been prepped and im eager to get out there, have some fun and see if I can match or beat my previous PB set in my S15. This will be the first proper test for my 33, hope she passes with flying colours. Looking forward to meeting some of the SAU crew.

As 33's are a bit heavier and Sandown is a brake killer, make sure you have plenty of pad available for the day and remember that you can slow roll around the carpark out the back if you don't get a chance to do a proper cooldown lap to cool the rotors down so they don't crack when sitting stationary.

Hope to see you out there, make sure you come say hi and have a chat with us. We'll be based around the garages near the SAU Flags.

Yeah, I just fitted new qfm pads all round and good fluid a couple of weeks back, also added an oil cooler and bigger rad, so hopefully I've covered all bases. Thanks for the advice, I'll definitely come and have a chat. See you guys there:)

Good work

I can't stress it enough that even one day out can kill a car with no oil cooler / stock radiator

I'm currently paying for it lol

    • I downloaded the apps (for windows) and Consult 1 doesn't have this function on it for the Consult 1 plug which I'm pretty sure all Skylines have. You would think someone would have a workaround after 30 years for all Skylines which have ABS.
    • Also, I don't know the actual ABS system on the skylines, but a sneaky thing could be a piece of electronic equipment that makes the ABS think you're moving, and then same piece can send a signal for a locked up tyre... Activate ABS without slamming brakes...
    • The team at OBD2 Australia are pretty good, shoot them an email and ask them. I've dealt with them before for work stuff. I'd be shocked if it didn't work, so long as Consult can activate the ABS. But you might need to use KLine for it which would be the stopper, as I don't think that piece does KLine comms.
    • Yeah and hence my ghetto way of slamming the brakes, get the ABS to cycle, rebleed seems to be a sensible workaround.
    • Hey! Happy to help. Nothing inherently wrong with the adapter, it's more so with Brett Collins himself. He gave me a lot of incorrect information when I was in contact with him and was extremely rude when I challenged him. He stated I could not use any aftermarket twin plate clutches except for his own, not to use the dush shield, bla bla bla and it was all BS.  Collins stated to cut roughly 14mm's off the housing, I took off 15mm to make room for the dust shield. I would confirm with whatever adapter manufacturer you're using.
