I have used old fashioned cmos ic’s for this sort of thing CD4022B should get the job done, and no surface mount soldering required ??

I've had it suggested to me that a 74GC393 would do the trick, i'm just trying to get my head around if i need to do more than just give it 5v power, ground, the signal and then take the signal from the 3rd output and send that straight to the ECU, or if I need some other kind of input to it aswell?

edit: so it seems i need to give it a a 'reset input' (pin 2), would i be correc that that's just another 5v input?

I looked through my box file of useful ccts, the ic i have used in the past as a divide by 8 device is below, this is the exact cct i used so I know that it works fine, excuse the fag packet drawing

i/p = r2

r1 = 12r

r2 = 100r

c1& c2 = 0.1 uF

D1 = zener bzx85c12

Time to unlock the 'high boost'  :)

Comparison to the RX7 below (both in 3rd gear) Evo had some traction issues though ! Got the response good now after lots of fundamental checking of the ideal cam advance on the MIVEK.

Another interim update of the performance relative to the 'big block' Datsun  :)

Sorting through a few items however got the same power and speed on lower boost today with some more tweaking, adjusting each cylinder to optimum... anyway here is previous days with slight miss fire *excuses!* will optimize some more. Just need to find some spare time to run at the test track and pump it up to 3600mB ;)

Swap to some Denso IK01-24 or NGK R7434-8 plugs and you won't look back.

oh wait, are you still talking evo or RB?

EVO, old mate ran them at stock gap from what I can tell in picture though.

Current running for the nerds out there?

Bleed about 10% out wg, PR ~ 4.2:1 ~74lb/hour flow ~108k rpm 900 egt, TEP, TIP will keep to our selves see who can work it out lol...... Engine makes around 750bhp based off the performance listed, or around 14 million rwkw on lebtechomodynamics depending on tires + tie down methods + kebabs consumed

Just for anyone else interested in the new black series. Turbosource.com have them advertised and priced on their page in the US. They have said to me that the turbos are currently getting assembled and should be ready to ship end of February. The guys seemed relatively good to deal with and have some interesting stuff in the works for the RB and efr. Ill reserve the rest of my judgement until the turbo turns up. Maybe worth a look. anyway.

8474, 9274, 9280 have not started shipping yet.  I expect this will happen this week.

if anyone has a turbo already its a pre production unit, they have not started shipping as of right now

Ahh ok, didn't realise it was pre-production.   Still, sounds like it's close :)

11+ minutes on load on the EVO (66 x 10 second homo 'passes' LOL) on 19 hours and 50 minutes to go. We increased the performance even more, logs in next few days time permitting, maybe  even a video ;)

Overall the EFR9174IWG and complete kit from Full Race (thanks Geoff) is a great balance of response and power. Can run 'Full Race Boost' with no tappering to 9000rpm (up to ~40psi gauge pressure).

    • A few small updates since the previous post and lessons. I decided to do a little interior light upgrade on the 110. I quite like the iilumo items, even if they're a bit of a premium over other brands. You'll also note the Stedi Fogs, that will go into the S15 fog lights as I needed to match the bulbs since I got the new ones earlier. I hope they fit as the body is quite a bit longer than your normal bulb.  Annoyingly, I managed to trip the fuse, which normally wouldn't be an issue until I located the fuse. I can't say I've ever come across this. I had lucked out that someone nearby had a spare, but oddly enough Toyota dealerships seem to keep this in stock. I ordered some to keep in my stash and as luck would have it, someone else nearby tripped the same fuse so I passed on the favour.  I also did a little service on the 110 ahead of some additional work coming up. It's been annoying that Goleby's stopped carrying this particular HKS filter for the 110, so now I need to keep them on order from Japan. I also took the opportunity to install a bash plate and number plate riser. The plate riser is such a cheap but nice fix to help really tidy up the car. I'm tempted to now also replace my headlights, on this car. Both items were from Project Aero.    I also needed to replace the rear tyres on the 110, and after trying to get it aligned learnt that I need to replace some bushes in the front end, so that's next.  Closing out this update with a nicer picture as always!
    • Yeah mate, never miss it.
    • Any going to watch World Time Attack at SMSP this year?
    • Appreciate the correction on the "ground", that will make a huge difference to looking at this. That makes complete sense about AF70/AF71 which is what I had come down to being the issue, one of these. I'll have another look in the ignition wiring when I get a chance next week. I'll also make up a jumper wire for running that AF73 test.  ECU is fine, relay itself is fine, pump harness is fine and the pump itself is fine. I am going to upgrade the Walbro 255 anyway with a DW300 I have since I need to replace the fuel sender and I'm going to upgrade the FPR with my chasebays kit ready for new plenum/injectors/dbw, but I'll get this working first. That's why this is so frustrating.
