Now everything it out back together the car runs but the PROBLEM OF THE LIMP MODE IS STILL THERE !! I can't even rev pass 2000rpm, even when parked! Something must be playing up and I'm thinking it's the AIR FLOW METER. Ever since I changed the Pod Filter the problem started, but the thing is I changed it back to normal but it's still limping, I can't even hit 60Kms on the road :0

When my MAF was bad the car wouldn't rev past 3000rpm, it made my car run rich and when I changed the MAF it did not run right as the plugs were fouled. Thoguht I would share that. Pull the MAF sensor plug while the car is running, should make a difference on AFR's, idle speed etc.

Haha dam but did the problem happen as soon as you start the car up ?? And I'm thinking of buying a New AFM and replacing it. I've tried spraying it down with electrical and contact cleaner but nope seems the same when i take it for a drive.

1.It would drive Fine past 60kms till it gets a little warmer or after 3mins and then BAM it just won't let me rev past 2000rpm and i'll be limping the car home on 40kms LOL !

2.Then turn off the car, and turn back my ignition on and i got my A/T light flashing :O !  after about 10mins, I start the car up and its back to Normal

Then repeat 1.

Weird problem, it could be the AFM because it previously had a BLITZ POD filter and i swapped it for a bigger K&N POD filter. After I changed it that night i went out for a quick drive and climbed to 100Kms safely while going hard and after a RED light ( car was idling fine ), when i accelerated it wouldn't let my Rev go past 2000RPM, i thought at that moment my car just died on the spot !

After that went home changed New Spark Plugs and Coil Packs cause I thought that was the problem but NOPEE. Still happening ):

So I got a scanner and got what says : A/T CVT Fault & ABS/VDC Fault, I believe it's the AT because my transmission is jerky and pretty clunking and it puts the car in Limp mode so it doesn't damage the car from what I heard. Any thoughts ??

Car starts up now, sounds perfectly fine but at occasions after 10mins of driving when on idle or when driving the rpm drops slightly and starts to shudder like the car is about to die and the rpm goes back to normal sitting at 1000rpm. any thoughts ??
CHANGED : Spark plugs, Coils, New AFM, Fuel Filter. No visible vacuum leak, cooler hose or tight with clamps. I'm lost :(

Took it to the mechanics and there clueless, went to 3 different places. They got the same code but are clueless why it's having trouble starting. Have to push the pedal in every morning start up. Am randomly car struggles with revs then shuts down when at a red light. Car idles perfectly at 1000 when warmed up no hesitation or shaking only until when it's warm up it will randomly just drop revs like it's about to die on me

Went mechanic today, turns out my transmission hose was bent too much and stopped the fluid from going through so he replaced it, and did a clean on the idler valve. Car has been running beautifully, no stall or any random vibration, that's probably why the A/T fault was on the OBD2 scanner. Brilliant.

    • You still want a proper tune on the stock ECU though. Stock tune + stock ECU with GT-SS/-9s is probably playing with fire if you're running more than stock airflow/power.

    • There was a great one on Victoria Rd in Gladesville too back in the day. I can only assume GTSBoy is thinking of the mill up on the wollondilly, no restaurant there any more but they have restored the original steam engine on site and run it every few months, have an annual steampunk festival etc @The Bogan, you came to the wrong town for restaurants. we have a few reasonable asian and indian options but the Paragon is as good as it gets otherwise. That brewery is apparently just opened, been meaning to give it a go some time. The Highlands have plenty of fancy options but I suspect you are more a hearty eater than fancy eater
