M2 comp is my vote

Got a colour preference or you maybe get the M3 to fit the family

I would go a boring run of the mill colour such as the one below. Don't need to wash it often, can get dirty and won't look dirty. Also would rock those stupid oversized Euro plates too to cover up the stupid front bar.

However, the thought of a M340i is making me more horny.

AWD, B58 platform, ZF box (ticking many boxes here)

TBH I think the R33 GTS-t is uglier

Its amazing how ingrained these views get when you look at your car everyday and it's no longer unique to you. It doesn't take long at all for people to look at Skylines (for example) and get used to how they look and to them it's nothing special.

But to someone else who hasn't seen them before (or sees very rarely) they are OMGWTFBBQ good looking etc.

This could happen even if you have a F40 parked in your driveway.

I purposely made mine blend it and boring looking so it wouldn't stand out, last thing I want is attention.

It's not even low, it's probably in the top 10% of the world's highest R33s LOL

    • Like others have said, drop the power to give your drivetrain a % of reliability until you can up the drivetrain reliability  It isn't rocket science, build power to the weakest link with a % of safety Whilst upping the the reliability of the drive train is costly, there's no point in having the engine make big power if it keeps eating the drivetrain....ask me how I know, I had the tow truck on speed dial for a few years, and I spent huge amounts of money fixing issues and breakages that really would have been cheaper in the long run if I did it right the first time Me, I like a nice sized fudge factor, that keeps me off the tow truck
    • I don't understand what the issue is with, turn the boost down and start saving $$.  As soon as you can afford the supporting mods, turn the boost back up.  If the car is running fine, enjoy it. Turning the boost down isn't going to kill you.

    • I know people cry at the price of the Getrag 12-14k for a conversion now, but it really is a nice mid point. Not going to get change from 10k on a gearset installed.  $30k++ for sequential.   I know you run the risk of a damaged used one and parts are hard to get but as a street car gearbox its really hard to beat. If you enjoy a more traditional manual, its the choice no question.
