Just list it for sale for the money you would want to sell it

The idea sounds good, but in reality my phone would be ringing non stop and I'll be getting hundreds of messages from dreamers asking for test drives.

I'll do a few track days, have a bit of fun and I'll list it up on Instagram. That page pretty much was to showcase the car and attract any prospective buyer.

Ideal state, it goes off to the US where they will pay decent money for it.

I bet you’ll be still talking about BMW’s and spending money on the 33 in 2026.

Because I have some form of brain damage (can't use the words retarded now because that's not 2022 appropriate lol)... I have once again decided to waste more money on this heap of shit.

Nearly fits, just needs a tickle with a rotary tool.

I hope someone likes my clapped out shit box enough to buy it one day so I can buy myself a boring, plain, run of the mill M3.

There's a guy that calls himself Boosted International.

You're able to request non standard designs off him too.

Nah, he will buy the M3 then join the ranks of "Oh, man, I miss the R33, I didn't know what I had until I sold it, but now it's too expensive/not possible to do it again"

Save this post for 2026 lols.

Remember reading on here when the Nissan GTR was released, alot of people sold their R34 GTR's and got the new and improved Nissan GTR, then, had buyers remorse, and wanted their R34 GTR back

Buyers remorse meets sellers remorse 🥴

@The Bogan that's fair, however I currently only a pleb shit box GTS-t, it's no GT-R. Just might be faster than a good amount of them around a track but that's it.

I don't think there is such a thing as a pled shit box GTS-t anymore, especially yours, sure, they were 1 step down the ladder from a GTR, and they "were" treated like a red headed step child for a while, and alot were trashed because of it, but really nowadays, a mint looking well sorted one like yours isn't that far away performance wise, apart from no AWD

Sure, it won't pull drug money like a GTR at resale, but resale is something that I personally never take into consideration

I rate my cars from the drivers seat, and from looking back at it when I'm walking away, and I personally prefer to look back at a classic looking car than some new flashy car, like the new WRX STI that I bought, after a while, every time I looked back at it, all I saw was something that looked like a new Kia, or Mazda, just another 4 door grocery getter sedan, to the point of when I was looking at it all I thought was WTF, why did I buy that soulless thing

And yes, I know, I bought the biggest fattest bogan 4 door grocery getter that was ever made in Australia, but strangley it tickles my old nether regions when I look at it, but that may be because I was brought up with V8 Commodores, Falcons, and Toranas, and the circle of life has me in one again

Will a BMW tickle your nether regions in 5 years, if the answer is yes then sell the Skyline

Just remember that senario in 5 years time, because after the BMW depreciates, the money you get for it will never get you back into a nice clean classic JDM car like the one you currently own

Treat it nice, give it a boot now and then, and just enjoy it.....or don't......😝

10000% you will regret selling once the "new" car felling wears off.
Find somewhere to store the 33, buy bmw, have fun in bmw then realise you enjoyed the 33 more.

I was so happy when I bought back the sil80 and the first drive in it reminded why I enjoy it.

I think the 33 will hold its value really well over the next 20+ years more than any modern bmw. The only thing I worry about is replacement parts for the nissans as we have trouble finding decnt parts for the HQ.

@The Bogan very fair points and thanks for the encouragement :)

Ideally having 2x toy cars would be perfect, however space & money doesn't really permit for a R33 and a M3 - unless somehow tomorrow I win the lotto or a long lost relative is so glad to find me and reward me with a new house, 3x space garage and a bit left over for a M3 and in return they take our current place LOL.

@robbo_rb180 I technically could dump the R33 at the in-laws, but that has it's consequences (they're asian) I'll hear constant whinging about why I should sell it, why am I just leaving the car here instead of selling it, etc. And then trying to convince the minster of war and finance I need to buy a M3 lol... she has already agreed to the M3, but that means the R33 needs to go for a reasonable price so the shortfall isn't too painful.

@ActionDanhaha... mate you have kids, you know you can't just irresponsibly spend money anymore :(

Yeah adulting sucks, tell them its a great investment. Make big dollars and they should buy one too.
what model M3 you thinking?
I am so lucky my wife loves cars & motorsport. Very rarely does she put the foot down on some of my "expenses"

At present it seems only a non comp F80 is within budget, however it appears the F80 M3 is rapidly dropping in price due to a few economic factors, as well as the G80 being an upgrade option for current F80 owners.

I would prefer the F80 LCI Comp and my reasoning is I'll modify it even less say if I were to go a non-comp model.

That's good your wife shares the same passion, makes playing with your toys a bit easier. Mine tolerates it, lets me fry cash on stupid things like a respray, another motor, etc. does refer to the R33 as a shit box but I'm not complaining :)

    • It's funny, as Ive seen plenty of people use them in cheap builds on YT. And they actually go okay, even though a lot of other maxspeedingrods stuff is terrible. Those turbos seem reliable enough, the only part being, a good quality turbo that is "identical" to it, will out perform it day in and day out. In both a lower boost threshold, and the ability to flow more air at the same boost pressure. As a cheap cheap replacement, not a terrible choice. For cheap and shouldn't blow in a day, not terrible (like other eBay/Temu turbos) for low cost and still decent performance, that's where the question comes in to play from the results I've seen. I'd actually find it hilarious to buy one, and strap it to a paddock basher or some other cheap as POS originally NA car, and send it to the moon!
    • The maxpeedingrods turbo is cheap and bolts on to stock parts. I think you just need a bigger silicone coupler for the intake. Its a cheap china turbo, but it's been running on mine for almost 3 years at 16-19 psi.
    • What do they look like right after you've tried to start it with everything connected? Also post photos of what they actually look like.
