Hey guys. I recently put a 3inch dump pipe on my r32. After installing it i took it for a spin. It felt okay. Then i came to a stop and the car revved to 2k. I tried to accelerate but it wouldnt let me go above 2k. It stalled a few times also.

1 of the nuts that connect the dump to the turbo wasnt tightened all the way because i couldnt get to it. Can this be my problem?

No

If a bolt has come loose the worst case scenario will be an exhaust leal. As it is after the turbine there is no power loss from this. I'd expect noise and possibly a tiny tiny power gain from an exhaust leak post turbo if anything

Id say youve disturbed something while doing the dump pipe. Check all plugs and pipes in the area

just search your symptoms, i couldn't even begin to explain how many times this comes up.

it has nothing to do with your dump but something else you have affected as said.

i just put 2000 rpm into the search, here are 10 of the 1000 which came up.

if you want another 789674653 threads search afm or cas or missfire or limp mode ect

No one knows exactly what is wrong with your car. Stop obsessing about the dump - it is entirely possible that a fault has developed in your car that has nothing to do with your dump. Start reading some of the links that Glynn has kindly provided.

to simplify the subject, a 2000rmp issue is a redflag for very common issues with RB engines. it WILL be the usual suspects. these are very easy to check and fix. the same answers will have arisen in any thread with a 2000rpm missfire/ hesitation.

have a read in the threads about what they found how they found them and how they fixed it.

when i had the issue the solder inside the afm plug had deteriorated, going over bumps gave me my issue, they could have dried ages ago over time and you dislodged it when you took the dump off. check the plugs, maby resolder them... there is a link somewhere... i know i posted one when i hit the issue.

but there is nothing the dump can do within reason to cause the issue your having now. dont look for unicorns when you find horse poo,
