Ic7 dash / charge light

Anyone with an aftermarket dash, how did you redo the charging light? The LC7 does not have a slot for the charging light and I’d like to steer away from using an LED in the cluster housing. Can the original charging wire be used as an input into the haltech or can a resistor be used to emulate a bulb?

Have a read of this - 

Short version: an LED wont work as a charge light. You can use a resistor and not have any actual light. You can retain and hide the factory charge light. Up to you mate.

I just took leads from the ignition 12v/charge light and ran them to the factory bulb. I just tucked the bulb near the blinker relay

does anyone know what resistance the resistor needs to be if you are removing the bulb. i have thought about putting the bulb behind the dash, but would rather have a cleaner setup with just a resistor.

Believe 5watts / 5 ohms does the trick

im Forgoing the bulb, just setting a warning on the dash to warn for low voltage.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, bridge the two connections add a bulb and or resistor between the two so the alternator will charge the battery ?( Pics attached and marked )
