And yes, put in the restrictor while you are there; a standard engine is fine with a little less oil and you are less likely to run out of oil if you have sustained high revs for any reason eg visit a track one day.

How did you clean the cooling system

Do you know what size restrictor?

Just flushed it with the Prestone flush & then water numerous times until the water ran clear, still looks rusted & will no doubt cause trouble later.

Are you sure the gasket is blown? What are the issues?

Thermocure is the only flush I've seen do anything with rust, very impressed with that, Prestone, rust will be by the pool having a cigarette.
