It's a camera that will register when you are at the Hospital and then again at the Monaro Hwy..... if you were not doing 80kms the whole way between the points, it will know, cos you got there too fast  Then you get booked.

Its just going to make everyone super paranoid and drive at 70.. thus making the traffic problems worse in peak hour. It will also cause alot more road rage as there is nothing more frustrating than someone driving UNDER the posted speed limit infront of you

will also most likely increase accidents as everyone is paying attention to how fast they are going not the traffic around them.

Yeah it's vehicle recognition. It sees your car, remembers what it looks like, then picks it again at the next camera. It works out your average speed between the 2 points based on how far they are apart and how long it took you to get there, and books you if you exceeded the limit.

That being said, if it takes you 20 minutes to travel between them at the speed limit, you could stop for 10 minutes after passing the first one, then double the speed limit (160km/h in this case) the whole way there, and not get booked by this system.

True enough Troy lol. But they'll prob still have regular cops driving around

Yeh sounds in someways like a good idea, but in others, like something to create more issues.

Does the sydney toll roads work like this - the ones where you use etags etc... cos if it doesn't, surprised they've not implemented it already. They know when you enter, when you exit and how long it took between each point.

This sounds like a less than fun idea. Prob also is, say you average 3-5km's over, normally wouldn't get booked for that, but over the length of a long road, that saved a noticeable bit of time - they are gonna book you for that...

If it checks you at the Hospital then again at the Monaro Hwy you can just speed all the way then turn off before the next camera and take back roads... point to point average speed cameras only really work if there is no where to turn off between the cameras

Thus my point re the toll roads in sydney, they already register when you enter and exit.

But yeah does only work if there are no turn offs. But they could do it between two sets of intersections. EG parkway they could do one between lady denman drive and cotter road had they wanted to.

yup, or even sitting on 80km on that stretch where there's 3 lanes going from the hospital up the hill will be a PITA. If you don't use it much then you just just deal with it, but not every single fcking day... staring at your speedo all the way to work.

I'll probably go via the Monaro instead.

They are also doing this without fixed cameras in sydney or atleast talking about it. they mark a measured distance in the road and time you with someone in a plane overhead, so not only do you need to look out for cameras, you also need to be looking in the sky for the pricks with their stopwatches. although it is a big white line across the road so if you cross one slow down untill you cross another. i think it is being trialed on the F3 at the mo

Australia doesn't really have the population for this to work full time.

In the states they do it in remote areas like bumf**kville on the highways to catch the country drivers who go out there to.....enthusiastically drive their vehicles.

Anyway my point is SPEED KILLS!! OH WON'T SOMEONE PLEASE THINK OF THE WHALES!

If I can't fix it can I repair it?

speed has never killed anyone. its the sudden stop that does it.

This is purely without a doubt just a revenue raiser. Even one of the top traffic camera office guys thinks it's shit.

Also what they have done is taken all of the money out of maintaining the existing red light speed camera program to get this point to point thing going... Cough cough, red light speed cameras at the moment are lacking maintenance...

at least i usually only travel past the point to point one in my van, which is lucky to do 70 up the hill.

    • Manual boost controllers (where a little of the boost was bled off) were quite common back in the day, because they were cheap and easy. Generally they had a manual adjustment screw rather than being fixed like yours. Down side is they always bleed boost, not just when you want them to so an electronic boost controller that uses a solenoid will have less lag.
    • Hello , im new here and i have A31 home build  RB25det neo stock eng / turbo  aem ems 2 blue connector  aem 3.5 map aem cas disk aem wideband connected to ecu  355 lph pump 550 nismo yellow injectors side feed aftermarket regulator  and won’t start with base aem tuner basic tune eventually flipped cas 180 degree so it triggers on correct stroke not in exhaust cycle  Now it won’t start Wideband reads 10 and 11 at lowest fuel setting  and will share calibrations soon for aem tuner i think something is wrong in aem tuner    please if you have any information, am very grateful
    • Legend. I ended up finding the facebook account of the owner of the first car i sent but sadly he deactivated the account. I think you’re right in saying it’s some sort of well done custom job. Really appreciate your help anyways.
    • Totally equivalent. Stock often goes from the comp cover because that's where the actuator is also installed and the factory needs 2" of hose to make the connection - and it comes as a pre-assembled unit. They totally have a boost reference from somewhere between the turbo and the throttle(s). Oh, jeez. Just do it in M12 then. We don't actually care that much. I would expect any such AN converter fitting to rely on an o-ring or some other seal onto a flat surface under the flange of the hex**, because bolt threads are no intended to provide a pressure seal. unlike..... pipe threads. **which also requires a suitably flat and smooth surface on the turbo's boss to provide the seal.
    • I also used NP   That’s were it’s seems to be the best place to fit it? All schematic shows also that it’s should be referenced from the turbo housing. But idk, I do see high hp cars without any connection or anything to their turbos, so I really don’t know how they connect their things
