mate i think u need to fly SK up north get him to tune it on your tuners dyno lol...if anyone can fix your problem its him mate. The man is worth his weight in gold easily.

Personally i reckon you should go for that injection kit, if it works on your mates 375kw supra it should at least help you reach your power goal on the rb. you only had like what 30-40kw to go. Or wait for god knows how long till you can get higher octane fuel. Mate times like this i bet you lived in brisbane (for the fuel ofcourse).

Good luck with this hey, its dissappointing to do that work to your car and not get the power you want. Breaks ya heart.

Your ign. map has been completely played with.

Maybe running so much more ign. over std impacts negatively on fuel consumption.

A couple of little strange things have been done with the fuel map.

Generally one will zero out the injector correction and rework the fuel map. It appears he's left some injector correction in there but also played with the fuel map. There also appears to be rather large variations in fueling at some load points.

Your not drawing much air either, it appears your using up to load points 16.

Mine with a crapp vg30det turbo running 12-13psi hits load point 16-17 and at a guess is making around 200rwkw.

Bl4ck32's R32 is running a small rb20det high flow running 16psi, that makes around 220rwkw using load points 17-18. The rb20det high flow has a very small turbine housing yet he is able to run upwards of 18degree's at wot.

A couple of questions.

What size injectors are you running?

Did you have the plenum on with the std 210rwkw turbo?

my ign map hasn't been modified no where near that much either.

ive modified the first 10x10 ish cells my self and then theres a few cells on loda point 16 that have changed a little, the rest is the stock map

Paulr33,

Where your airflow percentages all set to 100% (Settings 3 tab)?

I had to set them all to 100% in order for everything to run nice.

Also.. Bl4ck32's car had an initial issue running the VH41 AFM.

Upon selecting the VH41 it simply would not run, pumping out shiet loads of fuel. It was tuned to suit using the std rb20/25 afm setting.

Then we attached the datalogit to it, init the pfc and for some reason it began working fine on the vh41 setting.

Definitely a little quirk there. :P

also i never get over 80deg water temp, usually just under like 76 so i miss out on the last correction factor, so i either have to set the 50deg to 0.0 correction or use the 50deg corr pretty much all the time

When you initially started it and had issues with it being rich.

Did you try setting the airflow percentages to 100%.

Dialing in 370/550 = 68% (round up)

Then selecting VH41.

Paul, I think you will achieve a safer more consistent tune if you were to set the 50degree high load correction factor to 0. Depends how well it drives when cold with the setting.

I'm using the R34 correction factor and as it turns out its basically running 0 at 50degree's. It actually made the car feel much nicer to drive, prior it would feel like it was cold (short choked free rev), now when cold it feels and rev's the same as if it were warm.

well, I'm afraid to say, he's the only decent safe tuner in mackay....

The other mob who I won't mention, have a bad habit of blowing motors to pieces...

Hi Mafia,

Just had a look at your fuel map - I'll post up mine in a few days - interestingly my tuner didn't play with the fuel map much at all.

Just in the areas where it comes onto boost and high load areas.

In the original 210rwkw tune it wasn't touched at all.

I see you reach load point 16 - exactly the same as me with over 250rwkw. At load point 16 you're running 1 degree less timing than me. Bugger about the fuel. It'll be interesting to see how you go if you go ahead with the water methanol injection setup.

In the injection setting under setting we are running all six 550 cc nismos at 68%.

Cheers!

good tuning is invaluable.

I know 2 workshops here in Melb that regularly have guys from Tazzie bring cars (not one or two either) for work.

Tell me that isnt a mission, putting your car onto a boat for gods sake.

If i had to drive half a day, so be it.

Go for a drive to bundaberg or harvey bay and get it tuned.

Even better take some holidays come down to Brisbane and see the guys at mercury or matty down the coast...

There are a few QLD members that have a safe place to plark your car and rest your head for a day or two...

Then we can have a bit of an excuse to have a cruise and a BBQ...

If i had one more bedroom id have ya round...

So what your saying is your injectors are tuned to inject less because you have better fuel that is less prone to detonation, and I am having to inject much more fuel to stop detonation?

So there is nothing I can do, but run better fuel?

Do you run the same boost as me? Are you able to post up your mods?

THis is very interesting.

Well, I love guns, Futurama, The Simpsons, and I'm seeing a very hot asian chick.. I think we'd get on very well...hehe

No I'm not saying that I'm running less fuel than you - just the fuel map hasn't been altered as much as yours. Injector duty cycle on peak hold reaches 58%.

I'm running 18 psi, spikes to 19 as it comes onto boost.

Mods are

2835pro s

pfc, fc boost control

blitz lm cooler

k&n flat panel air filter stock airbox stock blow off valve

Z32 AFM

3''exh, 4'' cat hks dump

550cc nismos

Big clutch

That's all, everything else stock

If I wanted more power I'd look into nitrous.

Cheers

    • Hi. Sry iam not a mechanic and iam not at the car atm so i dont know 100% but they told they measure those and even try to change those. AFM they have two. Coils are new a they have my old one too. Plugs too. ECU...we have 25 NEO stock and Nistune 25 NEO.   But i dont know if any one those could be the problem and why/if/what can cause this, Only thing they did not check is fuel...but that walbro 255 is new(like 1,5 years)... That fuel pressure gauge idk...but i let them know Any suggestions?   EDIT: how can they know if it is like you say he ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high? Tha car has boost controler
    • Can you clarify what you mean by boost cut, do you mean it misfires both when under load (driving) and when stationary and out of gear? Or does the ECU pull power when it reaches a specific boost level that is too high (boost control issue)? Does it occur at idle with no throttle? When you say "the ECU is OK", what ECU is it and why do you think it is OK? Have you used the NEO ECU, and if so do you have a MAP sensor attached? Same for the AFM, why do you think it is OK? Do you have any way to put a fuel pressure gauge on it (even just a mechanical one between the fuel filter and fuel rail)?
    • Hi.. Just another problem. So maybe you can help. I(my mechanic) done swap from my RB20DE NEO to RB25DET NEO. Everything is OK but we have a boost cut. Coils/Plugs are ok...AFM is ok. ECU is ok. I have Walbro 255 but it "changed" sound few months ago(you can hear it ouside) you did not hear that when it was new(maybe faulty?) Sooo...what now? What can cause this boost cut? It is even when you standing still...
