  1. Yeah in that case, pulling the dent out. Event a very slight dent can create a lot of work filler-wise and there is a strong chance the panel won't be the factory shape when you are done (as the dent will result in a new high point created somewhere, then everything is brought up to that new high point... but the panel shouldn't be that high if that makes sense). So you've filled and primed the panel and it is flat, why would you go back and remove the primer and add more filler?
  2. Oh dear. The panel beating needs to be done before the filler work. Do you have a photo of the dent before you started? Hard enough to not flex and only hit the high spots? What do you mean it was just temporary?
  3. Did you panel beat the dents or have you tried to repair this only using filler? Is your sanding block soft/flexible and is following the shape of the panel rather then just knocking down the high points?
  4. Yeah makes sense, hard to comment on your situation without seeing what your doing. I was talking generally before, I would not be looking to randomly create low spots with a hammer to then have to fill them. It's hard without seeing what your doing, it sounds like you are using the guide coat to identify low spots, as you're saying the panel is still wavy. I don't see how you're not ending up with patches of guide coat remaining in a wavy panel? Once the high spots are knocked down to the correct level, surely to have a wavy panel you need low spots. And those low spots would have guide coat still in them?
  5. @silviaz Are you skim coating the entire panel (covering the entire panel with filler) before your hitting it with the long block? Or are you selectively applying filler to the repair, trying to fill the low points? Please don't do that. Almost certainly. Are you checking the panel for flatness as you go? Or is it more a case of, sand til all the guide coat is gone then check?
  6. ooof still painfully expensive. I'd imagine by the time it's installed and tuned you will have spent double that.
  7. Depending on the hose, sometimes engine out is the easiest option
  8. Sounds like doing a track day will resolve all your issues.
  9. I have too much trauma from every skyline I've ever seen having crushed jack points/pinch welds lol. Yep, works 100%, it's what I use when I'm using the quick jack. Don't know why I can't also bring myself to do the same thing when I'm using a jack. I blame the skyline PTSD.
  10. Makes sense. I would do something different if I felt like there was a better option. Generally the only other area I'm happy to jack on is where I want to put the stand. The pinch weld is not an option for me for either the jack or stands, so very limited options overall. Plus never having had an issue with doing this, has kinda reinforced in my mind that it's fine. I'd do it on any car without a second thought these days lol.
  11. I've been doing it for longer then I can remember and on pretty much every car I've owned without any issues. Jack on a tow point (or under the rear diff), jack stands under control arms/other beefy suspension component is my go to if I'm not using the quick jack.
  12. @f00stx Do you have any polyurethane bushes? They can be pretty noisy if they dry out.
  13. @TurboTapin I think you would really enjoy having a quickjack.
  14. Can you do the head gasket yourself or are you paying for labour?
  15. I'm getting PTSD flashbacks seeing that name again. With my turbo swift, I got 1,500km of street use on a Jim Berry clutch before it exploded and took out my input shaft with it.
  16. The Haltech Nexus plug in looks pretty sexy...
  17. Sounds good. I'm sure you'll be happy with the injectors, and it's nice having a little room to grow.
  18. Oh, probably worth mentioning as well, my mixtures are perfect at idle.
  19. If your tuner can't make the car idle like factory, I'd get a new tuner. These injectors are fantastic and I'd have very serious concerns about a tuners skill set if they couldn't get them to idle well.
  20. I have these injectors in my RB25, they have been fantastic to tune with. The engine idles like factory. I'm confused why you say they are too big?
  21. I'm confused, are you saying you don't like these injectors?
  22. Have a chat with the tuner, you'd want to drive the car straight there.
  23. Pretty safe to say almost everyone that has tuned their own car has experienced this issue. The difference being that we have our laptop in the car and when it happens, it's literally 10 seconds of tuning to sort it. Would you be happy to plug in your laptop and sort this yourself? It is a very simple process and there is no risk of harming your engine (if you are worried about that).
