  1. If you still have the stock ecu and stock injectors, a good replacement would be their "G2" profile https://hypergearturbos.com/product/nissan-rb25det-turbocharger-standard-high-flow-service/ Maybe consider using one of their donor turbos to save you posting them your current turbo. I'm sure they can post a turbo to the states.
  2. What brake pads were you running and how did they hold up vs the AR1's?
  3. Seems like we are talking about different things here. The OP was talking about terminating a cable. Dose and I are suggesting that crimping the cable would be the ideal way to terminate a cable. When I asked about examples of using solder, I was talking about in the same scenario. So for example, the connector into the back of my ECU has a crimped pin, wire, into crimped pins into a sensor. There is no solder there. If you look at a mil-spec racing harness, there is no solder there. Plenty of crimps, Raychem DR25, Raychem SCL, Raychem ES, epoxy resin, molded boots, probably some Kapton tape and no solder. I don't care if my microwave has solder in it. We were talking about terminating a wire, that is in a car, that is subject to vibration and a potentially harsh environment.
  4. Well... what are your thoughts on a single turbo setup, having everything that can be anodised black (painted whatever) everything is black black black and very factory looking... once it's on e85 emissions are easy... What's the worst that could happen?
  5. Thanks for the detailed reply, really appreciate it! I thought NSW was bad, I'd move states for sure if I had to deal with that.
  6. It sounds like your in California? If you wanted the car to be street legal and have a single turbo, what would that involve? I'm guessing it's not as simple as having the car certified by an engineer? (sorry if this is a dumb question, I'm over in Aussie land and not familiar with your processes)
  7. Did you have the car running perfectly on the lt10 before moving over to the lt8?
  8. Can you give me some examples of when the OEM or professional motorsport teams are using solder?
  9. Yep, park in a clear way and see what happens lol
  10. It seems like this theft business is seriously worrying you. Keep in mind that if someone wants to take your car; they will. Your car will be on the back of a tow truck and gone in a few minutes. There is no anti-tow-truck alarm or immobiliser system. So if this is worrying you, some things to think about. Do you want GPS tracking with a notification system? Maybe just keep your agreed insurance value up to date?
  11. I was really worried about cracking or damaging the connector doing that, maybe I'll just put my careful hat on and give it a shot.
  12. Hi All, I'm having issues removing the connectors from my injectors, I was hoping to get some ideas before I consider pulling the inlet manifold off. I've got connectors 1, 2 and 6 off. These are the final 3 causing me drama. I'm squeezing the connector release as hard as I can but it needs more force then what I can do by hand. Should I spray the connector with contact cleaner or is there a tool I can use to get more leverage on the connector?
  13. The only people that would know what a Plazmaman cooler is are enthusiasts... but if your an enthusiast, how could you bring yourself to do that... F*King can't believe it =/
  14. Are you intending to use the genuine Nissan gearbox oil or are you seeking this knowledge to improve your trivia?
  15. https://lmgtfy.com/?q=rb25det+gearbox+oil
  16. You'll need to get it engineered before you can blue slip it.
  17. Thank you for the dataz ❤️ but you know I'm going to ask to see the timing map as well lol In the end was the 21 degrees MBT or was there still more in it?
  18. I really want him to do it too. Then put up a build thread and document the life of a genuine 1000HP daily driver.
  19. Love it, chasing 1000hp. Please post up a build thread. When you say it's going to 'be reliable' as part of your regular service maintenance, will it include things like an annual strip down of the motor and refresh? (provided the motor lasts a full year that is) You are in America right?
  20. Because YouTube and Instagram told me RB's are indestructible and all make over 1000HP!
  21. I wouldn't call them 'haters' - the situation is we have had these cars/motors for many many many years now, I'll throw in another many for good measure. These ideas that were thrown around 15 years ago like, changing my head to solid lifters and bolting a turbo on my non-turbo skyline have been discussed to death and there is a reason that so few people do it. The cost of taking a head with hydraulic lifters and making it solid is not 'about the same' as servicing a hydraulic head. Have a look at the Supertech Solid Lifter Head Conversion Kit, it's got 168 pieces in the kit. Then you've got the associated machining and labor costs. Looking at a recent invoice from my machine shop, the cost to refresh my hydraulic head was $500 (AUD). Let me know what your solid lifter conversion is going to cost you including, parts, labor and machine work. Don't take this as me saying don't do it. It's your car, your money. Unless you and rolling in cash though, there may be other things you could spend it on that give you a better return.
  22. I'm going to run into the same problem in the near future, I was planning to use something like this as a solution - https://bluewireautomotive.com/products/alternator-exciter-bs-battery-14mm-led-warning-signal-module
  23. Something worth thinking about is, are you prepared to do this job twice? Say you buy the ATR45, and for whatever reason you aren't 100% satisfied. Are you prepared to pull the turbo off, sell it 2nd hand and throw on a $$ turbo? If you can do the labor and tune it yourself, you might only be out of pocket a few hundred $$. Not bad. But if your paying for the install and tune, you could be out of pocket a couple of thousand $$! Maybe that's ok with you, maybe it's not. If you don't want to do this job twice, it might be worth saving up for that big shiny $$ turbo. Hey, if your still not satisfied, you know there is literally nothing better in that category of turbo (and really what your wanting then is a unicorn turbo that makes 20psi at 2000 rpm and flows 500kw which doesn't exist haha). my 2c.
