  1. I made a custom 8.5ltr surge tank for my 34 that sits under the wheel well with an external Weldon 2025A pump ( loud as all fark ) I am looking at the 5ltr squareish Sard collector tank and modifing it to sit in the same place to run twin E85 walbro to keep noise down and increase the capacity of to around what I have now This is why I suggested the Sard tank as it shoud be able to be mounted sideways and just rotate the lid to put pump lower in the fuel which should allow it to be mounted under the car I'm Not a fan of twin pump setups incase one pump fails but given I have a fuel pressure sensor setup and twin Lambdas going in I think I will be ok
  2. The level of driving hard on the road isn't high enough to require surge tank, keeping over 1/4 is really just a precaution just incase and something I do even with a surge tank The fuel pickup is on the drivers side of the tank so if it is nearly empty don't push heaps hard around right handers
  3. Need !!, not sure yet but I have 3.3deg ATM and that is nearly enough
  4. Hey Neil, Ya all ready for Tamworth ? I just have to fit extinguisher and tyres and I'm good to go, trying the 295s for this one Did I get a trophy from Grafton ? Mick
  5. Big bar on ground and hit key to start starter motor, undone easy easy
  6. Thanks for that but they are even dearer lowball offers will be ignored
  7. I to like the throwing around of ideas and theories but unless there is a for and against discussion for them then anyone that reads them that doesn't know leaves thinking they are correct, I think the power of these fors is the back and fourth discussion of theories and ideas What I don't like and why I am selective in where I post is people that think they are always right and when someone says different or questions them they throw out an insult then throw a tantrum and get upset cause not everyone just automaticly agrees with them
  8. The dyno graph is proof, because the the boost peaks then steadily falls away while the power continues to climb and then level out instead of falling off heavily as it would with the massive back pressure this theory implies The theory would be under the assumption the excess pressure is only against the wastegate and not the turbine which is not the case the excess pressure is also pushing through the turbine increasing its speed and while this is happening on Peters car the boost signal to the wastegate is reducing which reduces the assistance the boost gives the wastegate spring to open the wastegate which increases the wastegate seat pressure which increases the manifold pressure and in turn the pressure at the turbine increasing turbine speed Or is that wrong ?
  9. I have been reading, just not postingHaving theories is a good thing but the incorrect one should be recognised as incorrect to move focus to plausible issues so people aren't changing things that don't need to be changed Like putting a GT42 or V cam on a car that the owner has all alone said he is after response with no shits given for top end This setup should be at lot more responsive then it is easily beating a stock turboed GTR for response As I said to Pete while I was there, fix what you know isn't right first before trying something you are not sure is incorrect
  10. Why is it a possible explanation? What is the thinking as to why this is a possible explanation ? I never said case closed or I don't know the reasoning, I asked what the thinking behind it was from other people But hey thanks for reminding me why I have been avoiding posting in SAU lately
  11. I would like to hear why people think it's excessive manifold pressure that is causing the boost to taper off 5-6psi I know this is wrong but would like to hear why you think this, exhaust back pressure can cause this but not manifold presure Either the boost controller is set to do this or the compressor is running out of puff, I would have said exhaust back pressure as a cause but the dum pipe and cat change made little to no difference
  12. As soon as Scott (Insight Motorsport) has his dyno up and running agian, it got flooded in the last big storm over here Time will tell if it works or not, either way it has to be better then the GT-RSs
  13. I figured there would be a reason, was just curious as to what it was and figured it might have to do with get gases away from turbine, unfortunately I run split dumps and will have to put something back in there so the split dump works the way it is meant to Yep, these are mine and are replacing my GT-RSs in the hope of gaining some response and allow me to run more boost to see if I can crack 500awkw, currently at 458awkw @ 28psi
  14. Problem with going off rated HP from a turbo is it is mostly effected by engine efficiency as to how close it gets to its rated HP and engine efficiency is largely influenced by cam timing
  15. What I didn't think to do while I was driving it was check wastegate pressure, do you remember how the "peak hold" i showed you works ? It works with the controller off as well, so can I get you to turn off the boost controller by press and holding the bottom button till it beeps then hold the round button till it beeps then take it for a run and report back with the number that comes up at the top of the screen
  16. Unfortunately I couldn't see how the lines where run But the HKS EVC you have is able to increase or reduce boost with revs so that will need to be looked at IMO the compressor is just not big enough the supply a 3.2 but that doesn't explain mhy boost is in sooner then it is, cam timing would explain it though
  17. I noticed you have removed the divider between the turbine outlet and the wastegate, just curious of the thinking behind that ?The exhaust is twin 3" through twin 3" cats into single 4" at the mid muffler then 4" out the rest, back pressure from exhaust shouldn't be an issue
  18. The problem I have is my car was tuned to in summer where the mournings are still over 15deg so setting it up for 0 deg is a guess at best, it starts 6 deg with a bit of whinding, less then 10 seconds It just wasn't looking like starting and at 5:30am with my fuel pump I didn't want to sit there whinding for however long it would have taking to start upsetting my already dickhead neighbours I also have cold Denso race plugs which wouldn't cold starts
  19. It was 1 deg at 5:30 at my house this mourning and no way was it going to start with the E85 lol Lol driving tips, you left Back there, right Back there Lol
  20. It was very nice to meet you today Pete and it is a nice car you have and a beautifull slice of Australia you live in up there A few things we discussed today where 1) when you get it to Jez do a run before he changes anything so you have a before and after to see any gains 2) get him to check the cam to bucket clearences as they are louder then they should be 3) ask him about the turbo intake pipe to see if he think changing it to a straight 4" pipe with a big single filter would be better then the greddy twin AFM/filter pipe with foam filters 4) cam timing, the inlet cam is 3 deg retarded which is definitely not right, inlet cam should be advanced if anything and I would like to know what they did to the exhaust cam but unfortunately I could see how it was set Driving the car, it can easily be daily driven between 2-3k and has enough torque to pull the heavy car along without fuss Did a run from 2000rpm, it pulls along ok from there and just before 3000 you can hear the turbo whinding up them from about 3500 there is big surge of power throught to around 5000 then almost all the urgency disapears as it smoothly revs through to 8000 falling over more and more as it regs through I'm sure with some time spent on cam timing there are decant gains to be had from this setup
  21. I boxed these up to get a price for postage for someone and by the time I got them to a point I was 95% sure they would get there safely ( about as good as I can without making a wood box ) the box ends up fairly big and really heavy so postage is stupid expensive So while I can post them, pick up would be much more cost effective for them
  22. I have upgraded to Nismo R Tunes so these are no longer needed In great condition with no leaks $750ono plus postage Located at St Clair NSW
