[Closed] Borg Warner Efr Series Turbos
XKLABA replied to Lithium's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
No doubt that turbo will make massive power and push good MPHs but what's the point of running 140+MPH if it takes 12seconds to do the 1/4 cause every time you shut the throttle to change gears it take a second to respool the turbo, not saying this IS the case just saying you can't tell by watching a 4.0 auto that providing it gets off the line clean leaves the throttle wide open for the full run What I think Paul ( and me for that matter ) needs is a pair of 5867s that bolt into the factory location -
Um, aren't the injectors on a GTR a negative trigger, so all the ecu has to do is earth them That's the reason you remove the resistor, cause it's no longer needed and the high imp injectors will fry it

It's a good indication of power or more torque to wieght yes and that ford must make an incredible amount of power/torque for a street car to run that MPH So clearly the ford makes more outright power then that GTR but it also has the benifit of a 4ltr straight six Would the result be the same or better on a manual 3.0 as it is on a auto 4.0, I wouldn't be so sure especially as far as ET goes -

A 9 second pass for any road car is impressive, but any turbo on a 4.0 is going to be a lot more responsive then on a 3.0 so comparing turbos on how they work on each is rather point less, and aswell as that they are two very different cars, one is a heavier car with an auto 4.0 on full slicks the other is a slightly lighter manual 3.0 with 4WD on drag radials so they both go about there business completely differently My point is comparing the two turbos based off the 1/4 mile runs of these two cars means nothing in the scheme of things -

the ford would also be running a 4.0+ and has it had any weight removed, it would really be pointless to compair the two for the sake of a turbo when the rest is so different, still an great result though -
That is something very simple and well known, simple cut the resistor off and solder the seven wires together then a bit of heat shrink and electrical tape and bingo high imp injectors working

The 32 is the best for flow but worst for efficiency, it is extrude honed and doesn't have the little fine fins inside the runnersYou can tell the difference between 32 and 33 by the front of the runners, the 33 has a grove that runs along the runner which the 32 doesn't

All three GTR coolers are different, the 33 is best for cooling efficiency but worst for outright flow My 105mm ARC cooler ( the best in the business) is about 4-6deg hotter then the factory 34 cooler but will happierly flow 1000hp

I beleive the speed v ET difference is due to auto v manual and down time between gears That Falcon looked so lazy running that time, like it was on a Sunday drive -
Backlash After Heavy Duty Clutch Install
XKLABA replied to XGTRX's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
For all the theorists that have read and understood what backlash is should also know what it translates to as to the feeling of backlash from the drivers seat which is what OP it experiencing How can a clutch change cause the feeling of backlash, simple actually, if the springs are to soft then when you put your foot on accelerator the spline will turn inside the clutch plate till the springs bind then it will transfer drive to the gearbox input shaft and same when your lift your foot off accelerator, the spline will turn inside the clutch plate until springs bind against the engine then engine will begin to slow drive down, which will give the exact same feeling from the drivers seat as driveline backlash -
What about the complete kit ? Do the Delco coils have inbuilt ignitors ?
-
Have you tested any of the OEM Honda coils, my tuner swears by then and suggested me to upgrade to them on my BNR34 I currently have the splitfire coils rewired to get direct current from alternator and at 28psi I run out of spark I am using Denso IQ24 plugs, if it makes any difference

Backlash After Heavy Duty Clutch Install
XKLABA replied to XGTRX's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Anyone thought about the springs in the actual clutch plate being to soft and what feels like "backlash" is actually the centre spline turning inside the friction plate ? -
That why I love these old threads to see how people's views have changed over years

Official End Of Year Putty Road Cruise - Wrap Up
XKLABA replied to PN-Mad's topic in New South Wales
Did you shit coming down into colo river with the river crossing the road, my 34 slid sideways near two foot into the other lane -
I have split fires with a rewire mod so they get power directly from the alternator Are you still 2.6 or 3.0, also is that power on a hub or chassis dyno My issue is passing the air the 3.0 moves through the exhaust wheel

What core have do you have ? The stock BOVs if genuine won't need replacing, they are really good from factory

R34 Vs R35 - Not School Holidays Yet, This Is Not What You Think.
XKLABA replied to No Crust Racing's topic in R35 GTR
Running a little less then 450kw ( about 430awkw due to lack of traction, rear A-LSD not working ) and a lot less then perfect run did 10.8@132mph -
Haha yeah just reread that, Stao mentioning a T67 throw me off and I assumed and we all know what happens when one assumes That still isn't that big of a single turbo for a 25, I'm looking at two TD06SL2-20Gs for my 30 and still expect better response then that

XKLABA replied to Redline_GTR's topic in Events Archive
I'll just bring a few Jerries, should be plenty, it will work out to just over two tank fulls What can I say, my 34 has a drinking problem lol -
Yes

This, except I believe the T67 is essentianally the same as the TD06SL2 which is 61mm/54.1mm exhaust wheel, so essentianally what you have is a TD06SL2-25gIt looks to me that your wastegate is creeping open early and making it slowly rising to full boost, try tightening it and adding a good electronic boost controller
