If your changing to thermo fans to gain horsepower, your a long way from being on the right track If your stock setup works then leave it alone. If you are doing a thermo fan conversion for a practical reason then go for that. I really don't understand people who go on about the horsepower gains from running thermo fans.

I'm talking about a VW Polo GTI here, 1.4L twin charged. Still does 6L/100km when you baby it or go on the highway. Even driving spirited every now and then it still uses far less fuel then mine. Its nice to drive, but I'd rather drive my car most days. It's just nice to have the DSG in auto and cruise around when I'm lazy to play with button clutches etc.

Is It Safe To Do A Compression Test With A Broken Oil Pump?
89CAL replied to Blackkers's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Exactly. Piece of mind is a great thing to have when driving a car -
Lol yeah. It's not my car so doesn't worry me don't think I'd own one. Was looking at Audi's but changed my mind after the way VW seem to operate

When did you see the Incar of the car starting up with the crazy suspension? I thought Ten's coverage started just before they started a formation lap lol. Be good to find a clip and see

My wheels look shinier

I'm thinking of swapping one of my mates Wolfenstein for one of my games for a bit. Don't know if I want to buy it, but would like to see how it is

Lotus re-signed Maldonado because obviously his sponsers havent got sick of him yet...... Not sure why but anyway. Wonder if he is still thinking it was a good decision to move from Williams to Lotus? He will stick by it, but deep down he must be thinking 'f**k, I could be crashing into front runners this year' That car really does look awful this year, somehow every so often it looks alright but it must be so sensitive to change (FRIC being removed this weekend might show that sensitivity) Not too suprising considering most people jumped ship last year and funding disappeard

Crofty seems to mess up a bit as well. Talking about sutil going to overtake a Force India or something and saying 'Sutil is going to have a go at the Sauber here' Maybe I missheard and he said 'in the sauber' but pretty sure what he actually said was that Sutil was trying to overtake himself I'm really hoping the Red Bulls go great at Hungary, might be thier best shot now that the car seems sorted. Dan still not putting a foot wrong. Continues to impress everyone I think.

You wont know if the bearings are any good till you pull the engine. If you pull the engine it wont take much to pull the head and look at the bores (which if it was me I'd be doing anyway, unless you have a borescope to do it without pulling the head) If your at that stage, you may as well replace rings + hone the cylinders (or further repair) I dunno, maybe I'm not getting it. But if it was me I'd be stripping it as a precaution if nothing else. Best case scenario is a couple of rings, honing cylinders and new bearings. Worst case sceneraio you'll need some new pistons etc. But at least then you will know for sure its not going to fail -
Finished the main campaign in watch dogs about a week or so ago. Overall pretty enjoyable game, if a bit repeatative at times. Just doing some of the investigations etc at the moment. Sorta sucks you can't replay missions like in gta 5 for example but oh well lol. Now what game am I going to waste my time playing

Except it was Kimi he was calling Keke this time Both Finnish, both start with K. Close enough..... lol

Mine only takes about 5 mins if I drive it. Is fairly quick to warm up Thats just gently driving it, I dont give it anything till its warmed up Not sure what makes mine different, Even starting in cooler weather of 10 degrees or so doesnt really take it much longer to warm up

Really need to tell us what you want to do with the car, Power goals, what it is used for etc Saying you need a rebuild what should I get is pretty much useless. If you want to run standard power, then standard rebuild, If you want to run rediculous power then you might need to go forged internals etc

Look like VVT settings for infinantly variable valve timing. Not entirely sure but looks like it

I think we are in for another mercedes weekend. If FP1 is anything to go by Think if removing the fric suspension has done anything, it's probably just moved the whole field back ever so slightly. Mercedes engine is the key to their dominance it seems, not the suspensions as many of us were probably hoping

If anyone is interested I have a few things for sale RB25DET head, complete internally with rocker covers and CAS bracket. Think it has VCT solenoid, if not I have a spare. Has leaking valve stem seal or needs seats cut so would suit a rebuild. Other then that it's in good condition 2 silicon reducers - 3" - 4" and 3" - 2.5" Stock RB25DET exhaust manifold with heat shield

What Are The Electronic Boxes In The Rear Of My R33?
89CAL replied to mattysaidso's topic in General Maintenance
You might be able to wire a unit in from a non HICAS R33 as it will just do power steering. But not really sure how hard that would be -
R33 Gtst Tyres/rims Sticking Out
89CAL replied to RamR33's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Yeah this. Im not real sure why everyone is confused 'not sure why they are sticking out' etc. Its obvious the tyre is to big for the rim. simple solution - buy smaller tyres or buy wider rims -
What Are The Electronic Boxes In The Rear Of My R33?
89CAL replied to mattysaidso's topic in General Maintenance
You basically lose all power steering. With no power to the solenoid it applies minimum effort which is probably about the same effort it applies at around 100kmh I've had my HICAS ECU recently play up and it was horrible going around car parks etc with no power steering. Granted that isnt a big concern for a track car, but you will still still find its not as nice on slower speed corners -
Intercooler Clamps......not The Average Sh!t
89CAL replied to N1GTR's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
Lol I left mine with my tuner expecting to get phone calls saying all these pipes had been blowing off on the pipes with no beads, but not a single problem while he was tuning. Come to think of it, I've never really had a problem with clamps. The only time I had any sort of issue was when I'd put the wrong clamp on and it was the wrong size for the join (to big) so wasnt tight enough -
Yeah I figured you might be having the same views as me if upgrading lol, but anyway. Doesnt hurt to put the offer out. Thought it might also push me over the edge to order the injectors if I had mine all but sold lol Have just been talking to a friend about five-o injectors and he hasnt had problems with ones he has supplied yet, not problems that were injector faults anyway. So maybe there are just some unlucky people here? lol
