  1. Does anyone know how to get the bottom ball out of the strut? I cant get the thing out What have people done? Have them measured up but was really hoping to get a photo of the strut out to send away.
  2. Did you use the assembly lube for the bolts? Guessing you followed all instructions?
  3. So how did you plumb it in? Back to the original tube or some other way? I'm guessing it was easy enough to do in the car
  4. I agree. A proper DRL setup should not have a problem sealing from water
  5. Ahh sorry. Don't know how I missed it in your last post
  6. I still think plumb it into the intake. It's how Nissan designed it and how it should be. If the engine is healthy then you shouldnt be throwing oil in the system, if the engine is not healthy or is resonably worked, then it probably needs a catch can anyway. The exhaust venturi is something I have never seen on an RB. Seem's really odd. And as above, the system will not work in venting the heads at high boost when there is exhaust back-pressure (unless you have a 3.5" or greater exhasut with no mufflers/cat). I'm not entirely sure if this will make a great deal of difference but anyway. I run mine plumbed into the intake pipe, no problems, mines tuned, doesn't lean out.
  7. I'm pretty sure it was M18 because I had to run a dye over mine. there is a definate step down in the VL filter stud from the filter end to the end that screws into the block and seen as 3/4 is pretty much 19mm I'm fairly certain its 18mm. Just go and grab one of them, must be close to a wrecker that has some old VL's? There are heaps of them where I am, and I'm not in a huge city. OR am I misunderstanding how the GREX plate works? mine had a female 3/4 thread to go onto the filter stud to hold the sandwich plate on then had the male 3/4 end sticking out the other side for the filter. The fitting circled looks a bit different so maybe I'm way off in my way of thinking? Not sure Anyway, I couldnt find the part number for the stud when I was sourcing mine, but if you could find this then a quick trip to Holden/Nissan would net you a brand new one. Maybe go ask Holden and they can look it up. they generally require less information on the vehicle than NIssan. But again that all depends on if I'm thinking on the right lines or not lol
  8. Its M18 but not sure on the thread pitch sorry Go to a wrecker and find an old VL or r31 with an rb30 in it and Rob the fitting out of it. That's what I did
  9. Venturi seems silly when the intake pipe always has a vacuum And yeah I'm not real sure why they plumbed the dipstick tube into the catch can. The only thing that worries me is that it may have been blowing the dipstick out which may have caused them to mask it with a catch can. Still put the dipstick in and see what happens. If all is well then you can probably rip the catch can out. If not Then go from there and plumb the catch can up properly
  10. Oh dear...... I'm no GTR expert but seems like someone was trying to hide a problem or really had no idea I'll let someone with a GTR comment in case the setup is slightly different to GTS-T, but not much about that looks right
  11. Its hard to say if it will fix it when noone knows what is actually causing the noise. If the box is wrecked nothing will fix it. I have a noise in 5th and 3rd and not even a gearbox rebuilt fixed it. Must be a problem with the gears themselves but it's just a noise and not a very loud one
  12. I got mine in 2010 I think. Rebuilt it last year but it probably didn't need it mine is daily driven. Just don't slip the clutch too much and it should be fine. The NPC flywheel helps as well because it has cooling channels
  13. Or does anyone want to sell me a good working Playstation 3?
  14. Oil control thread + reading. But honestly, if you live in Australia, then I would just slap bolt on mods to the RB20, and drive it till it dies/if it dies. Then they are cheap enough to just buy another one. Maybe then think about doing pumps and stuff. Better yet build an engine on the side properly, then put it in. Honestly though, the information is out there. If you have done 3 hours searching then maybe you need to go to google and search SAU through there, quite often yields better results. Searching for things like oil pump, oil restrictors, crank collar RB etc.
  15. I liked the old COD's when you toggled the leaderboards (in game) and it showed you connection quality on the side. At least that way you knew if it was a connection problem that was causing lag, Ghosts doesnt have that. I played ghosts for a couple of weeks, thinking it was just because it was a new COD and I might have just needed more practice, but then began to look at killcam's and saw just how delayed I seemed to be. Weird. Coming from BO2 were I was always getting positive K/D ratio's to ghosts were I was nearly always getting half as many kills then deaths with what seemed like a 2 second disadvantage in the killcams. I kept playing, thinking I would either get better or the lag would be sorted, but nothing ever changed. I know maybe it sounds like I'm just having a sook because I'm not as good at ghosts as I was at previous COD's, but I did try very hard to get into it (which I've always been able to do on previous games) Like I said, it might be fine on XBOX, or the issues might have been fixed since I last played, but its one COD I've decided to not get into, I'll wait for the next one
  16. LOL at Maldonado right at the bottom. Still sticking by his story about being happy he moved to Lotus too. I imagine its a bit more of a fun team to be at............. but the drivers are there to win, and you have to say Lotus is alot further away from that then WIlliams. If he hadn't started going on about a conspiricy theory against him at Williams, just because he decided to crash into everyone, maybe he would have a chance
  17. There is an oil control thread in this section of the Forum. It will tell you everything and more you need to know.
  18. had a 10" NPC clutch in my car for years now. I had it rebuilt when I changed my engine, more out of conenience then anything. Clutch and pressure plate still looked fine, I run the NPC lightweight flywheel as well. Very happy with it
  19. AFAIK, SIRI is only used to ask stupid questions to see if it comes back with smart ass replies. I never used it or the voice recognition on my Samsung now
  20. I think its the worst cod game to date. Online on ps3/ps4 is laggy/inconsistent. No matter what I do with my settings, its like everyone has a 3 second advantage over me. Was very frustrating so I went back to bo2 after a while and have no issues on there This might be a playstation issue but
  21. FYI, pedders listed 3 different sizes of thread for front tie rod ends from memory. Had to go out and measure the tie rods on my car to get the right ones. It might be as simple as GTS, GTS-t and GTR, but for some reason I don't remember it being that easy. Best thing to do is to get under the car and meausre the thickness of the tie rod before buying tie rod ends to confirm you are getting what you need Just so everyone knows, it may only be an issue in the Pedders catalog, but still doesnt hurt to know these things
  22. The way most of the cuts appear suggests that its a tyre problem. If they were old tyres that had been sitting in the sun it would make more sense but could just be a bad batch as suggested It doesnt really suggest a rub on something. I had tyres rubbing on a bit of the chassis that was pressed together and had a small section of flat steel sticking out. The fronts were just touching enough to wear out where the sidewall and tread met. Ended up costing me a set of otherwise great tyres. So I know what it should look like if it was rubbing. Because yours dont show a leading or trailing edge of a rub and they are just cuts then it looks like tyre defect to me. Or someone without much skill has tried to slash your tyres? Talk to Taleb Tyres on here about it, they might have an idea and can sort out some new rubber for you if you dont have a trusted tyre shop you usually use. I got my Yokohamas for the rear from them and they have been great so far. My old Kumho KU31's were from there as well, also really good street tyres for the price
  23. gauges look better properly mounted inside the car noone can come along and steal them by just breaking them off noone can damage them when they see the car and go 'LOLOLOLOLOL rice, lets show him' gauges are easier to see in the car guages wont wear as much in the car gauges wont be prone to water damage in the car I can't stop thinking of reasons to mount in car.....
