  1. November 2018 Bit of an update. Biggest first is the wheels have finally arrived, good news and bad though. Most obvious issue for me is they are the wrong colour, supposed to Anthracite (Dark, almost black grey). Not sure what im going to do about it. Second is fitment. The rears are spot on, rear track measuring 1444mm – 1mm within max allowed. The front however are too wide at 1465mm – 15mm over. The offset is +17.5, so 2.5mm under what I ordered (asked for +20). What I didn’t take into account are the r32 gtr brakes. I suspect that the hubs are z31 going off the wiki as they allow gtr brakes to be used without spacers due to a 5mm offset. Im not sure what to do. Im think of maybe drilling new pickup points for the LCA’s in the subframe and moving them inboard 8-10mm aside. Assuming theres adjustment enough in the castor rods, camber plates and tierods. You can see here the difference in offset and why it was a headache – for me at least.
  2. October 2018 ordered a new undertray and pedal set from ads. as a bonus this car came with the allusive front undertray too Ordered the wheels. changed my mind last minute and got these in a 16x8. hopefully will be ready in a couple weeks.
  3. August 2018, So you guys wanna hear a funny story? I needed a clutch pedal for this car, spent effin ages trying totracking one down cause no one will sell now as they make more on a complete conversion. Flynns in Cooma has one, wanted $150, I say okay cause I can't find one anywhere, spend 2 hours to drive down today cause I'm on stand down, get it home, crouch down to fit it up and see this. Fml
  4. So one of the challenges for engineering with this car is wheel track. The semi trailing arm IRS has been replaced with a r33 gts4 rear which is a fair bit wider. VSB14 only allows an increase of +25mm which means that the front wheels will be around a +20 offset and the rears will need to be +45. Going to be 8in wide all round. Im trying to find a set that i like that wont have more dish in the front than the rear, but aren't having much luck. I really wanted watanbe or superlite but i dont think they'll look that great without some rear dish Found a couple of companies that do custom sizing so i may go that way. Exterior wise, there will only be a auto spoiler (fixed) and gtsr wing. July 2018 In other news, bits have started turning up. bought a motor and box as a 'package' as im lazy. the motor has been freshened up, this is from the ad. Less then 1000 kms since work been done. The motor is a s2 rb25 from a staega NOT NEO. Has the awd sump modified to suit rwd. Has a rb26 tomei baffle fitted, franklin engineering head drain kit, acl big end bearings, head skimmed, tomei 1.5mm multi layer headgasket, arp head studs, Gates racing water pump and timing belt, engine had 98 thousand kms from memory before the work got done. New oil and water lines for the turbo. 3 inch dump pipe to suit r33 Turbo has minimum shaft play. Comes with ecu and harness. Doesnt come with engine mounts or cross member. Gearbox in good condition with a short shift fitted and cushion ceramic clutch. Also bought 31 rb25 gearbox crossmember from RB Factory, new engine mounts and a set of projectors. (they need a referb) Picked up a Ti wheel today, in reasonable nic.
  5. A very delayed thread, i bought this car in 2018 but thought id pull the build info from r31skyline club. I recently came to the conclusion that while i always wanted a GTS2, i prefer to do my own thing with cars. So i sold the GTS2 to a fella in Vic to continue the resto and have purchased this coupe off fatz. Most of you should remember it from back in the day, Marks from MRC very neat coupe with a VH45TT. First pic is how it used to look. https://forum.r31skylineclub.com/index.php?topic=111013.0 Unfortunately its gone a bit down hill since he sold it and needs a fair bit of work to make it presentable again. My plans are to get it running again, and just enjoy it. It needs to go through the engineering process as it was previously done. This sucks in the ACT, done it before but hopefully my experience and my old man age will make it a bit easier this time. No v8 this time, ive purchased a S2 RB25, just a fun drivers car with moderate power. Once of the interesting things is when Mark rebuilt and engineered the car last time they had the odometer legally reset to zero. So its done 5,800km since 2011.
  6. Thanks @GTSBoy Reason i ask is i have a 21U that im about to send off for either a G2 or G3 highflow. Ideally id like around 250kw and as near to factory response as is able. But ive found a OP6 down here as below, and am wondering if thats the fit im after. "R34 OP6 turbo with a mild SS1 high as flow from Hypergear. Billet compresser wheel and steel turbine, rated to 380HP. Great for a upgrade over factory RB25 turbos for a mild power upgrade and better reliability/boost than the factory ceramic turbine unit. Used but only on wasetgate pressure, and has been stripped and rebalanced by Hypergear prior to sale."
  7. Hi Tao, Would a RB25 OP6 high flowed to the SS1 (380hp) profile be capable of supporting 250rwkw and still retain good response? Thanks
  8. Hi Tao, Would a RB25 OP6 high flowed to the SS1 (380hp) profile be capable of supporting 250rwkw and still retain good response? Thanks
  9. Thanks prank, means a lot coming from Mr sau? No, it's a early model GTS.
  10. Not sure if anyone still looks in here but I've another 31, after one and a half year build.
  11. Hi guys, I've started removing the excess wiring from my rb25 engine loom (wipers etc) and found most of them go to the ABS plug. Is this plug normally left on the loom or do people remove it? If it's needed, will the ABS module be required as well or is it possible to run without? And if without - are there any issues with fault codes etc being sent to the Ecu? This is for a conversion into a hr31 without ABS Sorry if this has been covered before, couldn't find anything concrete in the search or google Cheers James
  12. Love it. pretty much how im planning to redo my skirts, keen to hear your thought on them after your next outting
  13. Hey everyone, long time no speak My GTS2 is for sale, hit us up if your interested or know someone who is.

  15. my BCs are bent. im looking for new struts atm - MCA worth the dosh say over bilsteins? Keen to hear spring rates too bro
  16. I use Qstarz bt-q1000ex datalogger. It just a little gps unit you stick in your car, great for trackdays and cheap. Its always within .1 of the offical track timing. And their editing program Dashware. Just overlays the data on to your video i think. I'm not techhead.

  18. I have actually. i was looking at the Tial MVR. Has anyone had any experience with these before - Apparently is a direct swap for the Turbosmart 45mm hypergate, which would be nice. really want to bombproof/idiotproof the current setup, as i know it works well.... when its working lol
  19. The lead up to this year was quite cruisy, I made sure I had everything done and ready so the week before all I had to do was pack. Thursday- Got to SMSP on time, was able to unload unhurriedly. Went through scrutineering easily, only needed a bit of padding on a rollbar – they hit the whole field for that. I reckon Vsport made their quota that day LOL 1st session – got out nice and easy, get about twos and the clutch starts slipping then about halfway down the straight the clutch went to the floor. Limped back to the pits and found one of the clutch slave cylinder tabs that the bolts go through had snapped off. We think because it was pushing at an angle it was sort of engaging the pressure plate and heating it up. Quick call and a trip out to Fatz place for a spare (thanks again!) and I was back in business for the 4th session, but the damage was done. One lap of slipping and I called it a day. Luckily I brought my old clutch as a spare, and we were able to swap it that evening in about 1.5hours. Friday Session 1 went out, car was feeling good - Really good thru the corners actually, so much easier to drive than last year. Got a lap and lost all boost a T4. Back to the pits and found the new intercooler hose off the turbo had tried to eat itself Shop around, got a new one and some gold wrap to help protect it from the heat and ready for.. Session 2 fcukin boost. I cannot believe how much trouble ive had with boost. This time its overboost – and what killed the pipe. Back in to the pit (notice a theme?) vac line had perished (silicone). Source a replacement and ready for… Session 3. Out, car is fine. get to the straight between 8 and 9 and bam, coolant on the window. Limped to the pits, the press fitting in the plenum for the top radiator hose had blown out. Trip to bunnings and some epoxy cement later and had it fixed. We decided to leave bleeding it until Saturday morning so it would set 100%. Saturday Turned out my first session was earlier than expected. Filled and bled the coolant just in time, only getting suited up as they were going out. session 1 Overboosting again, came back in and thinking the same thing happened i replaced the vac line again but with a braided line vsport made for us at the track. Session 2 still o/b. Back in and this time i pulled the wastegate apart for lack of seeing anything else obvious. Turns out the diaphragm is rooted. Visit to the Turbosmart stand and one freebie later im ready for the next session session 3 - spirt's are up, should hgaugeipped the boat problem in the bud. I head out and crap, first full throttle smashes past 30psi (high as the gauge reads) overboosting issue anyway. I decided to have a go anyway and just modulated the throttle, watching the gauge to keep the needle on 20psi. heres the vid So all in all, an annoying weekend but happy for the new pb too. Good thing i could take away is that the aero and rear end seem working really well. Water temps didn't go above 80deg The Turbosmart guys said my wastegate looks like it's getting way too hot. That's why it's discolored and probably the root cause of my problems. The new ducting setup would have made things even worse, little airflow on the circuit and none in the pits. They recommended a little ducting on to the wastegate area, the bilstine s14 had the same issue and that worked for them. So, I've come away determined to fix this issue once and for all. I'm going to remove the heat shield as its just radiating heat back on to the gate. I'm getting the whole hot side ceramic coated, a new w/g (just incase), aeroflow braided teflon hose for the vac line, air ducting to the area and either a new boost solenoid or do away with it and run just spring pressure. Once that's all done I'm going back to smsp to see what it should have done, not changing anything else. I think there is a in it 40 as it sits now. I dont like how the new wing looks 'disconnected" from the car, I'm going to redo the endplates so they sit lower/closer to the car
  20. Any updates man? I had the same issue in with my bonnet, I used reflect-a-gold. Worked a treat. That said, after wtac I'll be ceramic coating the hot side.
  21. Thanks guys. Few $$$ short for a sports sedan lol. Did you wanna pop over tomorrow andrew? And have you got the the competitors pack yet matt? With garage allocations etc.
