Oil/Black residue out the exhaust :s
tridentt150v replied to 1995-R33's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
Servicing....depends, if its standard and just going to be a daily driver, every 10K, if its boosted and/or your pride and joy every 5K. When was the timing belt last done??? Could be way overdue??? Lastly tips.....you found here so read, read, read and search, search, search. Also have a look at the Forced Induction Dyno Results section, plans start from there!!! -
Which R34 best fit for RB26?
tridentt150v replied to DarkestDungeon's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
You want the Neo head on an RB30 block, throw the RB30 head away!! I have 400hp = 300rwkw on an RB25, others have much more and the motor is fine. Note my motor is unopened, standard just cams, turbo, FMIC and other bolt on stuff, so they are much stronger than you think!!! A Neo is stronger all over again, if I can easily do 300rwkw with my road car, a Neo will do 350-400rwkw. Use the GTT platform, the GT has basic differences like wheel studs, brakes, etc etc [can't remember it all] they are NA and so don't need the same level of strength, search on this forum others have asked the same question and been told. There is a list on here somewhere and it would cost you more than its worth to start with a GT.- 13 replies

R33 water feed line leak. help?
tridentt150v replied to AndreW_R32's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
tried Pirtek? -
Get a low profile trolley jack, they win the limbo contest every time!!!
-
or a ratchet spanner or a Cobalt socket set cos they have the socket hole right through the socket, the ratchet clips on over the socket.

way over 25, country/rural area, QBE $443. Not bad rort, I've never claimed and am unlikely to so they will get +$20K out of me and I have three registered, so +$60k for my driving life. All for some con artist to stage an accident with his uncle and claim $5 million for a sprained toe!!!

Do as above, you may need to do it a few times to get the rhythm right, practice makes perfect they say. You need to press the drivers side door light switch button evenly and can't rush, but 7 times before it starts to flash, will be on to start with, but not flashing. Also need to turn the ignition off before it starts flashing as well - so turn on, press 7 times, turn off - edit. Works on R33's, do a search, it has been mentioned several times, other threads will have more info.

Sometimes the airbag light is triggered by the power being disconnected like a battery swap out. Happens on my 33 about once every 2-3 years. Turn the ignition on and then press the door light seven {I think} times before the airbag light starts flashing. Turn the ignition off and then your good to go. You might have to do it a few times to get the technique right but it cancels the flashing. Of cause if it comes on again then u have a proper problem and need to find it.

nsw/act 1997 GTR33 VSPEC SERIES 3
tridentt150v replied to sexyr34gtr's topic in For Sale (Private Whole cars only)
Ok, no problem....I was not sure and thought that it would help if total mileage was stated. 79,000km is low, car looks mint, I want but am not quite ready yet, glws. BTW, I did the same - fitted a 320km/h speedo, but I sent the cluster off to an instrument shop and go the mileage changed to what my car had on it, so it reads exactly what my original speedo had on it. I then got a certificate from the business stating this for future reference. Just a thought for you, but 2k isn't much of a difference anyway? -

nsw/act [sold] rb25/30 fully rebuilt
tridentt150v replied to meggala's topic in For Sale (Private Car Parts and Accessories)
You'd need that excavator to dig it up!!!! It would be a very deep hole!!!! -
If all else fails, I'd remove the timing case and get alloy pipe machined in as a press fit and then weld that sucker!!!

I'd like to here your reasoning for this Duncan....how does the oil pump run backwards? This - to my thinking - means that the motor was running backwards?? Only way I can think of this happening is if you are rolling backwards down a steep hill while its in say 3rd gear but the motor is switched off??? And if its switched off, no bang or boost so no oil pressure would not be a bad thing given the duration. But willing to learn. -
R33 parts - job lot free. A donation to SAU would be nice though. Hi all, I have a heap of bits and pieces free. Catch is I live between Canberra and Wagga and you have to pick up.......plus you get to take the lot. No single items, no postage, you come you get it all. All parts are off an R33, some are off an automatic, some off a manual. The little box has an automatic ignition inside it. Sunset of one month, if nobody comes then I take to the dump. If you want to ask about the condition of any parts PM me. But don't ask about postage or 'buying' one item. If your coming up the Hume Highway its not that far out of your way.

I use two, the supercheap red fleecy/soft cover then a hailproof cover over that. The fleecy is for to protect the paint, the hailproof - cos my car is in a carport - is for the odd rain drop and possible hailstones. But I am pretty sure it won't stop cricketball sized hail, just the smaller golfball or lower I think. I have a shed, but it is full, so the car had to sit in the carport. Got the hailproof outer on ebay. And stay away from custom covers, cos you will be replacing them every 2-5 years anyway.
