How have you set up your wastegate duty cycle and boost target maps? Does it start high and tapper down? Also depends what duty cycle is set at, had similar issues a while ago with a wrx with efr7670

What power can I make?
robbo_rb180 replied to jlabsurf's topic in R Series (R30, R31, R32, R33, R34)
I think there isn't many people in Japan using them or advertising that they tune them. Find a workshop locally with a dyno who is happy to hire it, organise a few friends who want to upgrade ecu to modern Haltech/Link and get someone to come over & spend a few days tuning everyones cars. We use to do that where I live. -

When I have converted to map just run a vac line to the ecu from a common vac block and can use tps as a load axis if needed. The haltech has plenty of resolution to fix all the light/partial throttle if the tuner knows the product and setup correctly. Have a read on the haltech forum lots of info there. -
Tablet as M.F.D to monitor temp and pressures
robbo_rb180 replied to Billyboy369's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
this may be helpful as well. https://www.facebook.com/groups/tunerstudiodashboards/ another option is go buy a raspberry Pi and test board and start fiddling with that . I am sure someone out there has done it and can help or go buy a Link r34 pnp, add sensors and go that way. -
Tablet as M.F.D to monitor temp and pressures
robbo_rb180 replied to Billyboy369's topic in Car Audio & Electrical
I've got on e in the race car connected to a link G4+. Very user friendly but they have ben raising their prices lately. Have a look at realdash app https://realdash.net/index.php as can use a Doudle Din stereo running on android to display what you need. I'll be using this soon on another project. -

The feel of shifting when cold and warm temp
robbo_rb180 replied to reyy's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
When was the oil and clutch fluid last changed? New gear oil with some nulon smooth shift may help. May need to adjust clutch pedal also. -
Got stuck into the HQ last week and fitted up the msd unit and dizzy. Should have done this year's ago has made the car enjoyable. Will fit extractors and twin 2.5 exhaust when I get back from next shift at work and start tuning the carb so it's not so rich. And started new job in Brisbane. Finally got to do a back to back Dyno of standard plenum VS short runner intake on a standardish Rb25 (kinagowa td06, e85, 25psi, greddy fmic, 3 inch exhaust, link g4 plugin) big hit to mid range power.

I bet his mates cousin read a facespace post about a 400kw one in Freedomland. Fudge air correction factor for the 400kw wank figure.

WTB r32 ARC side mount intercooler(thicker 100mm one)
robbo_rb180 replied to tparker77's topic in Wanted to Buy
Use an s15/r34 side mount for a cheap upgrade and make ducting from front around it. I've known of an s13 making almost 200kw with smic & water sprayer. -

I'll let you know how mine go as I should be doing a sprint or practice day in Feb. Will be interesting to see the difference between these and Project Mu. -
S15 Spec R conversion to RB26DETT
robbo_rb180 replied to Tardo's topic in General Automotive Discussion
how do you know its not the injector or coil? Checked cas? Properly checked coils with multimeter? Cleaned Injectors? injector fires when cas is spun? I've got a rb25 swapped sil80 and wouldn't recommend it unless a drag car due to keeping them cool, ac still working and getting around the ABS unit and triple the cost of what you think it will cost to be done properly- no temp problems, working ac, sump clearance, sway bar clearance and meeting emissions etc. Can recommend East Coast Customs at Northgate. I have used them in the past with my cars from head gasket replacement & full tunes. -
Got the new trailer last week, worth every cent. Car can be loaded without removing the front bar and airing out the air bag is cool. Now just need to upgrade the tow car. Swapped the 4.36 ratio diff into the race car so can now put the gtr diff back in the sil80. Top shafts are gtr, bottom standard gtst. Might drain the 98 and start E85 tune on the race car.

add in a manifold and external gate adds more $$$$. Been in the wrx from the g series thread and it is great but the cost to do it I think out weighs what the average person needs. For myself it was an extra $1600-1800 to go G series (vband housing, manifold & gate) over the gen2 gtx and I am happy with what I have done. If/when they do a T3 housing for G30 that will be when I jump on that band wagon. Back on topic, so when you appearing on The Block?

Paul Ruzics time attack at QR is good. Runs morning & afternoon sessions. http://www.timeattack.com.au/ Morgan Park at Warwick is a great track, I've only done open practice sessions. https://www.morganparkraceway.com.au/ Only workshop I can recommend is on the northside. East Coast Customs, Rob is very good with tuning anything and they do a wide variety of cars.
