17” Motorsport Tyre Options?
robbo_rb180 replied to LTSJayce's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
I have used rs3 and ar1 in 255/40 /17 Rs3 was good all round for street and club level motorsport stuff. Do not recommend them in the wet. The ar1 is definitely a track tyre very consistent when up to temperature. I run them around 28-29psi hot. Also used them in targa barrier reef and they where great on the road when warm but had a few moments when cold. -
Dash Displays - Racepak vs Aim Strada
robbo_rb180 replied to WantGTR's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yes, there has been a few revisions and they are now testing a bracket for it. If you can, definitely go the aim dash it looks like a great bit of kit. The racepak is now looks very dated. -

Here is a cheap alternative. Is plug and play for haltech and multiple custom screens and is touchscreen. https://www.powertunedigital.com/ -
Just standard Sr won't be proper flat shift but will set up ecu to cut ignition when clutch is engaged. More setting up for launch control as majority of racing I do is standing start. Would love a sequential box, maybe one day if I ever built a proper race car and had a race track and workshop support locally.

MLR's 86 not a build thread thread
robbo_rb180 replied to The Bogan's topic in Members Cars, Project Overhauls & Restorations
When you do go silly and break a gearbox, coyote tuning were/are as far as I know using a t56 box in their test car. Besides the rods is there any other issues these have once boosted? -
That looks good, very factory looking. Post Hill climb update: Car went well and I ended up 3rd in class and I think 7 or 8th outright in a field of 30. Tyres took a few runs to scrub in and to get the pressures right as its a standing start and no warm up. Fastest on the day was a R32 GTR with 500kw doing a 55 seconds. Finished up with a 1:06:86 which is around 2-3 secs off the Sil80. Cars steering feels light and took a while to get use to until I had some heat in the tyres. Tune needs a look at as had a few problems going back to 100% after a gear change. No leaks or damage so stoked about that. Going to add IAT sensor, move boost & afr gauges, wire a clutch switch and 2 other switches for a few things over the weekend. Then off to Brisbane for a dyno tuning course and round 4 of Qld time attack at QR the end of next week.

This is good to hear. Be interesting to hear what you think of the once it has some more go. Will you be using most of your current exhaust setup? -
rackmount bushes, nismo vs poly vs oem
robbo_rb180 replied to nicostar's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
Have used rubber, superpro and now moved to aluminium. The superpro were fine for the street and had no issues. Aluminium were used to move rack forward but I noticed no difference with feel and noise. -
I'll be grabbing the G30-660 as long as t3 inlet so I can keep current manifold. Will be going on a built rb25 will be a massive upgrade over the old gt3076r.

Came down to time and motivation. Rather be driving than building at the moment. Lol, far too cold where you live for me. Have a go but would recommend practicing on spare panels before doing the car. Good from far, far from good. The front end, rear bumper & wing look heaps better than the body. Sanded down with 320-400 with an orbital and did all the bog. Undercoated then sanded some parts again to fix high & low spots and another undercoat then 800 wet rub then colour. If you have the time and most of the equipment like a decent compressor definitely have a go. I had to buy a spray gun $100 came with 3 different nozzle sizes 1.4, 1.8 & 2.4mm, sandpaper & paint as i already have a decent airsystem with a 2.5hp compresor, 200L receiver, driers & filters and air hoses. All up so far for paint and material around $900-1000 which was a 3rd of the price local shops wanted for a closed door respray.

S13 Sprint/Time Attack Style Build
robbo_rb180 replied to No Crust Racing's topic in Motorsport Builds
Jealous of the areas you have to go out in the 4wd. Wish I had owned one when I was down there. How you finding the prado? Just do a 3 inch intake as easier to get adapters and will flow nicer without size changes. -
When i get a break between a few events or have another off I go over the whole thing again. Finished painting everything but didn't redo the body as racing more importanter with the next hill climb on next weekend. Just need to fit harness, put in proper coolant, wheel align and clean under the bonnet

you can pull them apart and clean them -
Have a look at turbo oil drain flanges. I used one with an AN/ORB fitting when I use to have braided line on my r33 pump and only had to slot the mounting bolt holes. https://www.aeroflowperformance.com/turbo-nitrous-system-accessories/turbo-accessories/turbo-drain-adapter

R33 GTST Diff query
robbo_rb180 replied to klutched's topic in Suspension, braking, tyres and drivetrain
ActionDan did a s15 diff centre swap and i think there were a difference in the bolts used to bolt the crown wheel to the centre which was a stuff around. Is your current diff abs or non abs? as ADM s14 manual is 3.69 and is non abs so should be a bolt in job link to his old NS build. Diff stuff from page 38 http://www.nissansilvia.com/forums/topic/533091-budget-ca-s13-track-car-upgrades-time/ -
Got the car tuned during the week as tuner had issues with another car so couldn't get this done on original date. Decided to paint it myself as missing the original date stuffed all our plans so pulled entry from Mt Morgan Made 229.6 on wastegate pressure of 16.5psi Once I have done an event I will go back and turn it up. Car never went over 83 degrees and IAT of 25.8 at its highest after multiple runs. Pretty happy with it as there were no issues. The ducting & foam around intercooler definitely help. Started stripping and getting it ready for paint. the rear quarters are full of bog from previous damage. Setup my ghetto booth in the shed and sprayed it in undercoat after a big effort today. Got a few other cars to wire sensors & set up ecu's so hopefully will finish undercoating doors & body kit wednesday or thursday and start wet sanding friday.

Until you start spending more time at "work" -
Still working on the 180sx as have entered the Mt Morgan Hill climb. Its all running and idle all sorted, going to dyno friday and will be doing most of the tuning myself for the first time so will be a steep learning curve. Ended up getting a new fuel reg as the linglong ebay wouldn't hold consistant pressure. Body kit is all fitted up and not a tek screw in sight. All nutserted with m6 bolts, spent way too much time making it fit nice so am having it painted properly on the outside for now in Mitsubishi electric blue. Tomorrows jobs are to finish fibreglassing the bonnet vent, weld on BOV and bend up some ducting. Had a little bit of interest in the cars but nothing has come of it. A few pics of progress
