  1. If there is anyone here from Parramatta area going to this, let me know as I may be going and would really prefer not to drive to penrith without a couple of cars there. Last time I went on a cruise I kind of got lost. PM me, I can meet up around the area, and if the guys are meeting at cabramatta/liverpool, let me know I can head down that way. PM me guys. And if anyone can hook me up with a walkie talkie or tell me where I can get one, that would be awesome! Hopefully my brakes are fully bedded in by then and the car works with me not against! Gonna also try setup an in car camera before I leave to record the whole drive. Always a nice watch.
  2. Online store lists it but doesn't have a price and doesn't list stockists. I'll be going blacktown tomorrow to check out autobarn, also heard auto one stock them so will be heading to both places tomorrow. Penrith is too far to drive in this shit weather. Cheers for the info man, will post back my findings! Going in for yellow or orange and the primer. So MC202, MC205 and MC100.
  3. WTF! They were $220 from Nissan up the road from me. Where did you get them?
  4. Why would a regular sandwich plate have a spring and ball with oil path?
  5. days later I had fuel squirting everywhere lol just cover it up with a old towel when you remove the lines.
  6. That is a thermostat and as you said, for an oil filter. Does it not have any other ports? They are made of aluminum, take it to your nearest pirtek and have them tap a port on it. Very easy job and you've got a thermostat oil sandwich plate if you decide to get a cooler. Just make sure there plugged up so you dont squirt oil.
  7. Ive rang up at least 4 different repocs, none have them but can be ordered if I pay freight. Ive tried autobarn, local spares, super cheap and no one has them Does anyone have a definite place I can find a can of metalcast orange or yellow or both? Cheers.
  8. I'm gonna give this a go. Abit of a bump yes but something like this will always be looked for. Great writeup. Ill be doing this on my R33 GTST fronts first then rears. Going to use Duplicolor metalcast orange/yellow(which ever I can find). Will post up how it goes. I cbf taking the calipers off the car. I only just done the brake lines and used some good fluid in there so ill just unbolt them and dangle them off the car.
  9. The brake shims made a HUGE difference when I was running my old brake pads. But running them with these HPX pads doesn't do anything. Its a little better but the screeching is deafening. Nissan will sell you the set for about $200 which is a f**king rip off. Just buy another set of brakes which INCLUDES a set of shims. Remesa pads above come with a set as do a few others. The temptation just to buy new calipers, rotors and pads set is kicking in. Ive spent about $600 on brake gear so far and need to spend about $600 more to get new rotors and pads. That is 1200 which I could have put towards a Ksport set or a little more for a wilwood set. I'm gonna give my pads another few hundred km to set in on the machined rotors, if no luck ill be going from there. Ask Greg(gsrally guy posting in here) if he sells the shims alone. He suggests the spongy/foamy shims rather than metal. The reason we get noise is because of vibrations passed through the pad and rotor. Metal on metal won't really do shit to eliminate this noise...
  10. Haha yeah we saw a little wallaby hopping around over there. Believe it or not I know someone who got chased by a wild pig there to haha he jumped into the river. I'm not going to do anything stupid when I go there, I know my cars limits and I rarely push my car to those limits anyway. It just looks like a nice drive. Ill be doing this on the next dry weekend. I always keep my GPS handy when we go fishing down there as I warn the driver of sharp turns coming up.
  11. Fizzle stick I wish I had that turbo now lol. Very keen to see 18psi at 3000rpm. Is the work you have performed on this turbo based on new turbo housing design or is it in the compressor/turbine wheel? What are the internals like? Damn lol, I would very much consider ripping the turbo off my car and paying for the compressor wheel fitted on if thats all it is!
  12. Band aid fixes, I try avoid them. This is the only car we have that squeals. The rotors are off my old car and that car had endless brake pads. They were the best. No fading and no squealing.
  13. I just got the rotors machined, I gave the pads quick and thorough rub on sand paper to remove the mirror surface. I put everything back together and took it for a drive(all shims and what not in place etc) and started bedding them in. After the third bed in step they were screaming. A few more, my ears were done and I was really embarassed to drive it around anymore. Why are they doing this? New surface on the rotors and they are still screaming...
  14. Ill clear my inbox. Yeah I don't plan to go stupid up there lol. The gates don't shut, we were there til about 12am and they were open. I don't think they've been shut in a long time lol.
  15. You can put the Power FC gear into your standard ECU housing. NIStune is not legal as it is a modified, programmable ECU. Its just because it looks stock. If you do an emissions test, both ECU's will probably fail on regular fuel and mods.
  16. Running no bov will cause no harm to the turbo. I don't think there has ever been a case where the usual flutter has killed a turbo... I'd feel safer with no bov as I hate the over fuelling issues with atmo. None the less, as above, check your piston. Maybe your atmo is too close to the turbo. I've got a turbo smart bov and it flutters a spilt second before the tsssh. its no longer on my car. It was way too close to the turbo.
  17. Power FC has never done me wrong. I don't tune the car, I drive it so I don't care what is and what isn't more tuneable. There is a tuner out there who can work with anything so just take it to a reputable nistune/power fc tuner. If you've got a nistune stick with it, if you got PFC stick with it. If you got stock, its up to your wallet. I'd always go PFC is I was a stock R33/R34. I'm not doing anything extreme with my car, all bolt on mods so a PFC is more than enough. Don't need djetro, never had issues with a Z32.
  18. You've got air recirculating and hitting your AFM causing your car to overfuel giving you the hunting issues when you clutch in off boost or between gears. Only way to fix this is get it tuned and tweaked out if you have a programmable ECU. No BOV are the best as long as your tune is right. I'm a fan for flutter.
  19. Chuck a metal intake system and run pods, its the only way to get sound out of the GTR BOV's. The only other option is run atmo which you cannot do with the GTR BOV because it will be vacuumed open and air is always flowing through it. The most you'll get out of it is a whoosh kind of sound. Just block them both off and start fluttering
  20. If I bought a car off someone and the gearbox fell out after 1000km, I wouldn't be happy at all lol and possibly hurling gearboxes through windows etc. There are alot of people who like to do the dodge when selling cars. My mate WILL NOT sell a car without putting "as is" because he will ONLY sell his cars when he knows something is wrong with it and after the whole thing has been degreased to look clean and schmick.
  21. My mates R32 golf is making about 220awkw and perfectly legal for him to drive too, not restricted. I have NO idea how the RTA missed this car. This damn thing is a f**king rocket, even when it was stock as a rock it was very quick. Too often I see P platers driving cars they shouldn't. There is a guy with a VZ SS up the road from me ALWAYS, WITHOUT FAIL flooring it up the street.... Thing is, I think its just a badged car because it sounds exactly like my brothers V6 VZ, no V8 burble. None the less, people take the risk because they don't care and their parents either don't know the rules or just don't care. I wouldn't let my children drive high powered cars. I especially wouldn't let my daughter touch a high powered car. Anyone who thinks its its only younger male drivers who hoon, f**k you would be amazed at the amount of female drivers I get trying to egg me on and hooning on the street. Its disgusting and they SERIOUSLY can't control their f**king car for shit. Some dumb arse in our area drives an S15 and without fail always tries to race EVERY sports car near her. I had seen one female driver in a evo 7 coming down church street while I was going up. I was turning right onto parramatta road and she looked to be going down to woodville road from church street. Light turns green for us to go left and straight and the stupid bitch got ahead of her self and jumped the gun thinking her side was going to get green. She copped an ear full from me as I would have been the first one to make impact. After having been in an accident where I was not at fault, you kind of appreciate the better drivers on the street. I see guys in skylines who cruise along side me, we just give the nod of the head and be on our way. Sure sometimes we give abit of throttle but what, seriously. Its just these girls who think they are fully f**king sick driving a hotted up, or even a piece of shit pulsar, who think they can do as they please. I'm sorry but I just don't feel comfortable with females driving even moderately powered cars. Sure they can floor it but as soon as there is a f**king 1 degree bend in the road they are already taking up every lane and they do not ever check their mirrors when changing lanes. To stay on topic, as I stated earlier, I would not let my children drive a high powered car until they are legally and mentally able to. I wanted a sports car since my P's, but I done it hard and drove a tarago around for 5 years before I got my skyline. /end rant
  22. Well I have to ask because I have been there twice in the past two weeks(fishing) and both times have had a variety of drivers in their japanese imports taking on these roads. Has anyone here done it? Just last night I saw 3 seperate times where there was a 180sx driving at snails pace on the bends but then booting it through the straights up the top. Then a S13 which was pretty ballsy around some turns I saw. Then a psycho R33 driver who almost ended up in the water because he didn't see the barricade haha. They then parked their car and when I was making a little fire to keep warm one of them was like "dude what the f**k hes making a fire". Then they came flying past again. I'm fair keen to drive this road. The sound reverb down in the valley sounds awesome so I want to get someone I know with a camera down there as I drive through. The roads aren't too smooth but just holding second and cruising through looks like an awesome drive. Hopefully the gates don't get shut after sun down. The other time I went there I saw a few guys on their motor bikes(obv a meet up/cruise of some sort), I saw a V8 Soarer(this sounded like f**king amazing), a couple of 200's and an R34 I think. The road surface looks terrible, there are holes and ditches all over it and I have a feeling some spirited driving on those roads the car is gonna rattle into bits haha. If anyone is keen for a drive around this place, let me know I'm fair eager to try it out.
  23. Ive always written something up with pen and paper but this is pretty awesome. I will be using this in future buys/sales. Much appreciated.
  24. Yeah its hard for me to keep an eye on the gauges while driving lol. Here is the only print out I got. I should have got captures of all of the graphs. I hate how it shows speed rather than KM's but its not hard to calculate back to get the RPM. Look how different the power curve is where it creates boost between high and low boost. It comes on at the same time just in larger quantities.
  25. Yeah they come with 17 psi actuators but when the tuner saw it hit 20.1psi at 3700rpm he somehow managed to convince me to use a 10psi low boost and 17 high boost but this actuator is soft as arse it couldn't hold even 5psi at times and with the boost controller set to 100% bleeding most of the air out it can we only managed 11.5psi, and one or two spikes to 12.5psi. He has the boost controller set to start boost at 13.8 but it never even gets there lol. So yeah with Staos turbos, you do get a 17psi actuator and the oil line. Ive got the actuator here with me(17psi one) but I want to get a 14psi one to run 14 low 17 - 18high then get a retune. Remove your number out of your post lol just keep it in the PM.
