  2. As big of a muffler as you can fit. common topic of late given the crackdowns across the country. Simply get it as big, straight through - and it'll be much quieter. If the muffler doesn't have decent weight, it wont be packed enough (or quiet).
  3. The patent is so vague it holds no traction. And the tech patent war going on ATM has little relevance to this anyway
  4. Is that not Plazmaman's fault for not adjusting to the market and shipping it off to China like everyone else has then? End of the day you've gotta play in the market you are in. A lot of top performance places in Aus (and Japan) have been sourcing from O/S for quite a number of years and lower production costs and keep profits and still selling things at affordable prices. There is the part about Aussie jobs etc, but that is the fault of the Government for poor policy & rising costs here in Aus & competitiveness of China, not the businesses themselves
  5. lol hold up - you know what it'll be. Just a milled housing to suit. It won't be a proper Garrett one, and will likely mean rubbish performance as we've seen in the past. The -5 turbine and the -9 turbine are the same size... They both use the 76 trim wheel. The -7 uses the smaller trim. All honing will do, is hurt the blistering response - which is why you make that turbo selection in the first place.
  6. The VIPEC is just a rebadged LINK ECU So hence it's all the same. Same answer as all the other threads asking about it Buy it from NZ, cheaper.
  7. But ye overall that was a really heavily edited piece. There was actually some very very decent discussion in the room in the middle/end part of the forum. Pity NONE of that has made it to air. The part that was edited, that has pissed me off the most, was the discussion point about doing it legally on a racetrack. The younger fellows there said they didn't really know how/where to do it (as in circuit racing). How to get involved etc. They didn't realise they could essentially do it in their cars they own right now. To see their faces when they were told that, their reaction I believe was 100% was genuine. I even offered to give more information about how to "get to a trackday", but of course - sensationalist media at its best. Overall the exercise was unfortunately pointless. Ian Luff also made a RIPPER comment about driver training, that was also edited out.
  8. I was sitting next to her - I know
  9. It's been on that timeslot as long as i can remember. And i rarely even watch free to air (and haven't for 5 years)
  10. My Nismo S-tune suspension was the worst I've ever had in a car. Nismo twin plate clutch however, that is the king.
  11. All PMs replied. Been overseas for the past fortnight.
  12. ACA - so that would be 6.30pm on CH9
  13. I'm back - but wont be going through emails for 2-3 days, will sort it over the w/e
  14. No you don't - It tells you on the notice, what your options are.
  15. Just meant the cooler is the same size, end tanks are different as they state. Not sure what it means by "big big" if it's the same core... (im confused also)
  16. f**k I forgot to ask... I'm O/S in 8hrs lol... I will try direct someone else to post up ps. thanks
  17. DS2500 are fine for the street. Been using them for 8 months and they are not noisy at all. Yeah you won't get 40,000kms out of a set of rotors - but I'd rather get 10,000kms and know it'll stop when i ask it on street or circuit. DS3000 are circuit only, you never get them up to temp for street duties.
  18. And read the rest of the sentence If chasing numbers in the 400 rwkW plus range you can order what is known in-house as the BIG BIG cooler. Still using the same intercooler core this until has a larger alloy cast end tank that takes a 63mm inside diameter hot side intercooler pipe Anyway I'm going on holidays for a fortnight. Keep discussing, i'll return and call you all wrong in 2 weeks

    Sau Swap Meet

Yep good to go - Micolour is happy to host it. I'm O/S as of 8hrs from now. Once I'm back (2-3 weeks). I'll get to organising... Watch this space
  20. lol Dan! i love how you ask loaded questions when you know the answer - i know, ya know. I know Racepace do use "dyno wheels", just a set of R34 GTR rims with tyres for a lot of cars when doing comparo's etc. That way at least everyone uses the same rim/tyre combo. Also so that people don't have their semi's chewed out given the cars that go in there. I think doing it that way is a good idea for parity sake. Im not sure other workshops do the same, however I've seen some that do so depends where i guess.

    Vicroads

The fact VicRoads clearly list it as a VASS requirement for a non factory option engine to require a VASS? A RWC simply does not cut it. Whilst this thread is a novel idea - there is a EPA/RWC thread that is to be used for all questions/answers: http://www.skylinesaustralia.com/forums/topic/156269-the-epa-threadroadworthy-thread/
  22. Absolute rubbish. Within the first 20mins, it should be run/bed in and ready to tune up. Excessive blow-by after that means it's a rubbish build
  23. Ksport/D2 kits are perfectly fine. Plenty of cars using them @ WTAC last year, and again this year. They are tried and tested, I have them myself and cannot fault them for the price. Been trying to get a GB organised for a while (will be well under 2k), just having trouble getting suppliers to play ball, at a decent enough price to make it worthwhile for everyone.
