  1. GTS-4 - does not need launch control. Just needs 8000rpm and a firm grip on the wheel
  2. Think this will be the first year I miss the xmas beerfest FFFUUUUUU
  3. The age old "how long is a piece of string". As Dan said, much more likely to fail either way. I might be ok a few times, it might die first shot... Nothing more than a lottery.
  4. Oh Sunday is Bathurst... Going to have a TV on Markos? LOL! It's against my religion... But am coming with Nick anyway...
  5. They actually have a F6 motor from what I've heard, so better than a standard XR6t - just a Nizpro tune and the things haul ass, and still keep warranty
  6. If you only ever want to get a hi-flow - don't move away from the stock manifold, it''l cost you another $2000 by the time it's done and wont really give you a decent performance gain. Stocker 300rwkw under is the best bang for buck. You've likely just done a gasket as people are saying. It's pretty common in RBs over 10 years.
  7. Im under 30 and had the same deal with Shannons... Also had 2 fines listed and a word doco of mods
  8. It's Victorian Law - so any law applies after you cross the border would be my thoughts. Same as a speeding fine for instance. But - call the EPA.
  9. turbo territory gets my vote go drive one, you'll see
  10. He is still mad, that his "testing" was bad.
  11. Don't use IE then Avatars work fine, upload one.
  12. What issue is this? Someone PM'd me about it, but for the life of me i cannot replicate it. I think it's a local issue (ie, your broswer).
  13. Plenty use ATI without a problem, plenty use OEM without a problem. Old age, bad treatment and 10-20years of work (depends if its a 34 --> 32 motor), combine that with limiter slapping as well on a tune that is hard on timing on the limiter. It's all a recipe for a failure of some kind be that oil pump or something else.
  14. Probably because there are only 1-2 cars that are eligeble currently is why... Lot of work for 2 people Come '89 though, well, fair few people would be and then more and more each year.
  15. Most performance workshops are 2-3 man operations with outsourcing for other roles (like fabrication, engine machining etc). Often performance shop owners are not actually qualified mechanics themselves (but can be qualified engineers etc). So you are unlikely to get any of them taking you onboard as a mechanic apprentice because of it. From a business perspective it does more harm than good to take someone on in a small operation like that, even taking into account tax breaks and so on for doing it. You'd best get qualified first, then move across as realistically. If you think a high performance workshop is interesting all the time you'll be in for a bit of a shock... A fair portion of it is general servicing and parts on/off just like @ a dealership. So take the make of the car outta the equation and a lot of it is the same.
  16. exactly, dumb suggestion that one was. Pretty sure he isn't using MAF based setup anyway. If you use the gizzmo gasket on the plenum, the factory sensor spot apparently reads much better as you don't get the level of heat transfer. remember reading someone testing that back a while ago. Still doesn't help the factory sensor is really slow though, but at least once caught up it was certainly lower and more realistic.
  17. It's all to do with the pod, and the type of pod. Some pods have more noise associated than others - whether its because of the level of filtration, or the actual construction metal vs plastic etc) who knows, not really a point anyone would probably care to look into. Pod - lots induction noise airbox/enclosed pod - less induction noise GTRs make a bit more because of the side intake.
  18. There or closer to the manifold - near enough really. Air is moving past it that fast that post cooler it's not going to pick up a major temp difference in that space.
  19. Definately was the adshell server holding the page up (as it was the same on other forums as well). Around back up time usually it's only 2mins around midnight, so hard to notice unless you try load a page at that minute
  20. 2014 mate Still a while to go get before thier 25th. Plan when I was on Committee was always to look at club rego as part of 89 GTRs, going by Johns comment - looks like it's still on the agenda which is great
  21. +1 Looks like my grandmas 323
  22. It could offer improvements to torque... response, probably not.
  23. Wow looks like a fair ACT crew coming along Don't forget if you want to be in the Car Show/Dinner - you have to pre-register. Entries will close in a few weeks, or once full (which is also highly likely)
  24. Well most places that make them are a "brand", but not an off-shelf type thing if you want the biggest... As it needs to fit into your current exhaust design. They are not all the same piping wise, they are close but yeah, gotta do a custom measure
