up for sale is my R33 series 2 head, the tomie cams are 256 8.5lift and less than 5000km's as it was a weekend car, The head is in perfect working order, before cams had 175 on comp test so the valves are sealing well. Has been off the car for 6months and ive wrapped it up , selling because id like a neo head to go with RB30... Without cas im looking for $550 , with stock cams this head is good for reselling if you just want the cams so its a fair price..

Not everyone has loads of cash to splash out on late model 6L V8's, personally I don't like the later models, I think the VU SS ute is much nicer, the front end of a VY/VZ even VE I find very plain and boring... the VU to me looks aggressive and the interior feels more quality compared to my old mans VZ which has a cheaper plastic feel to it... also I've put 2500km's on the Di fillippo and I think ill just stick with it, it has a nice deep thump to it, sounds nice when squirted, and almost silent when cruising.. other systems seem to just be loud where as this system has more quality to the rumble , although needs a cam to make it more angry... I reject claims that its just a redback system as it doesn't sound cheap to me, there's a definite quality sound there.... In 1st if I plant it, it sounds f#$king awesome, its not loud, its pure V8 rumble and at idle can hear a duff duff duff almost like its got a cam.... Regretting selling the Worked VS on some levels, it was a bloody angry sounding beast, I bumped into the guy that sold it to me a few weeks ago, he says now, " mate that thing was a 6L stroker with big cam, I bet you didn't get beaten at a traffic light drag!! lol " , I was like , "what?? why didn't you tell me, I would of kept it!!!" flaming mongrel!!! oh well , It didn't suit my needs , 3000rpm on the highway and stuffed suspension, I didn't wanna pump money into something that old and who knows if its a ticking time bomb done in a backyard, no thanks, the VU suits me better...

A Question For You High Boost People
AngryRB replied to Kinkstaah's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
400kw's with a boost leak?? this thing has a shitload left in it then, hasn't even hit the GTX zone.. -
Yeah you cant trust people these days, they should bring their own comp tester and watch you do the test or GTFO!!

A Question For You High Boost People

So if its flowing the same with 10psi less then that doesn't mean the shaft speed isn't at the limits does it? It could be ready to blow with more boost.. -
Hey greg, in this one, https://youtu.be/s80O-2-zrvM whats the noise in the first few seconds? sounds like lifters but then you push thru it like F#$k this shit lol , and that's cheating that's a 300zx

mine doesn't even bake first... hahaha, one step at a time hey.. with a manual one day it might lay a black line in second.. then that's worth throwing a party..

isn't drifting about big clouds of smoke whilst going side ways ? which is related to massive torque no?? so you need a big turbo kicking from 4000-7000rpm...
-
Really glad I never sold my RB, these graphs are quite disappointing when you think of almost 6L's of V8 and theres only 200ish kw's at 4000rpm plus the torque, my skyline would be frying tyres whilst overtaking the LS1, I guess they arnt high tech but still bit shitty, I'm keen on a VCM9 though in the future mostly for sound, the RB is really where the fun is though I think, missing mine.. be interested to see what your LS1's sound like compared to mine.. any vids to share??? I could upload one of mine for comparisons..

if money is no problem, then GTX3076 will be a light switch at 4000rpm and will take you upto 400kw's, but silly not to get a hypergear, use the money saved for tyres...

Scared Of A Sound Coming From My Rb25det Head.
AngryRB replied to Inline6Silvia's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Yeah my thinking is that when the lifters are held under load and sit for long periods is they get bled and stick in position? so will probably need taken out and soaked then pumped up with fresh oil, There's heaps of threads on lifter problems on here and someone else might have more advise, but if mine id flush, then new oil, get the engine hot and let run for 20mins and see if the lifter free's up, keeping the revs low to avoid damage, but its your call really. -

its a little thin, there's a whole thread on the subject, but 10w-40 is good for most people -

Does it have good oil pressure and the right viscosity oil? -
Have you cleaned the AFM? does it puff out black smoke when its stuttering?

AngryRB replied to Inline6Silvia's topic in General Automotive Discussion
Sounds like there's two different noises, one when put under sudden load at 0:05 which sounds like a knocking, that noise ive never heard before, the ticking noises I would bet are the lifters , maybe a few have collapsed and not pumping back up.. What was done to the head/motor when built? are you using big camshafts? -
havnt looked at them for a while but was very obvious, large black painted print, probably at the front near the cam wheels.. cant miss it
-
my R33 ones have the specs and tomei printed on the cams in Black,
-
My top plenum half is actually warped, never thought that could happen, a new gasket would not seal it off.
-
Really good improvement in those graphs, what brand of cam is that? must be the first Ls1 dyno graph ive seen, be good if the torque was bit earlier for the street but it must be fun to drive with manual.
-
That sounds awesome and the rear wheel arch suits it, gives it a wider look...

yeah i guess you have to draw the line somewhere, mine got put in shed and now i havnt even driven it for 12months best to enjoy it i reckon, id rather spend the money on performance unless its really bad, no fun when its stuck in the shed Keep up the good work
