I know when I first gutted my cat it was definently a bit more droney at lower rpm than with the regular cat.
-
How much do engineers certs usually cost? I know you were trying to get one for your car.
-
I might even looks into some bilstein shocks and new springs instead of coilovers, partly because of the legalities of adjustable coilovers. They are illegal aren't they?
-
I was wondering about how bad the suspension will feel at that power level. For a purely street driven car is it really only worth doing sway bars, strut braces, coilovers and new bushes or should you looks at adjustable camber arms tierods etc as well?
-
+1 for redline mt90 if your box is in pretty decent condition or go the redline shockproof if it's a little worn. You should use about 3.5- 3.8 litres, but just keep pumping it in till it comes out the filler hole.

Yeh, Kasko also would have had the fmic and the ebc prior to doing the most recent mods, so if your starting from scratch the cost of those should also be factored in I guess...
-
Trozzle, what ecu are you using? Must be a haltech or something similar at that price! I have a similar list of parts to kasko + a clutch on top and price wise its pretty similar. However, I haven't started putting things in yet Or had a tune so the budget could easily blow out...

I was always under the impression hypergear did turbos for other cars, but as this is a skyline forum, we only hear about skyline related turbos? I guess I was wrong.
-
Everything always takes about twice as long as its initially expected to, this much I have learned owning a skyline and doing most of the work yourself.. Great result considering the boost issues though!
-
You gotta be happy with the result though considering it looks to be dropping around 3psi up top. Fingers crossed your clutch doesn't need to be upgraded though.
-
Just realized they said there was boost control issues so I guess that would be affecting power up top a fair bit as well. If it was holding boost to redline I still think itd be 250+ I wouldn't expect it to be hitting 270kw on 20 psi with a 15+ yr old motor.
-
I would be a little dissapointed (if it were my car) if it was only putting out 240 with that turbo. I would have thought 250+ would be attainable...

Keen to see results kasko !

Hi Flow Cat And Dump Pipe - Are These Any Good?
Mitcho_7 replied to RSFOURDayz's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
agreed, I had a jjr split which fitted like crap and leaked due to the poor fit. They were heaps good about it though and swapped it over for a bellmouth and money back. Bellmouth fits so much better and was about 8 times easier to put in because of that. -
I got in touch with Matt from nistune and he has said that it will be possible to update the afm settings and injector settings so i can limp to the tuners, if I have a consult cable. Does anyone have a consult cable and have experience with how to change some settings on the nistune software?

The gasket kit comes with the oil drain gasket Got heaps of coolant and a little left over oil from my last service... Anyone know the thread and size of the nuts that go on the bottom two turbo to dump pipe studs, I think I'll get some new ones...
-
ok cool. Stao from hypergear seems to think that I should be fine reusing the washers and everything from the turbo thats in the car currently, so i think im pretty right for parts etc otherwise. I have: z32 and plug. Nismo 555cc injectors Nistuned z32 ecu nismo fuel pump r34 high flowed turbo and oil feeding line Turbo/exahsut gasket kit greddy profec b metal intake with all joiners and hose clamps Can you think of any other little parts that I might need ontop of that stuff to get it all in? How did you go about getting your afm in, i remember you saying something about male and female clips from jaycar?
-
Yep, sounds good. I've don't have a heap of tools, so if you wanna bring some so we aren't limited to one of each size socket and spanner that's cool. I also don't think I have a socket or spanner big enough for the banjo's, it's 24mm isn't it? The only other thing I dont have is the soldering iron for the z32 afm plug, I think it was chucked when my mum decided to clean out the shed... In regards to the other person, Randon_I_Am (Pat) may or may not be able to help out depending on what he has going on.

Have the car booked in at ESP on wednesday to get the clutch put in!

Let us know how you go with the tune. I'm still tossing up whether to go local with Autotech or interstate to DVS jez as he has experience with hypergear turbos and nistunes. -

Video Of 250Rwkw Gtst Vs 300Rwkw Gtst
Mitcho_7 replied to rondofj's topic in Engines & Forced Induction
I know there's obviously a heap of variables that people have already mentioned, but I can see where the op is coming from. Being able to compare your 250kw hi flowed turbo setup to a 280-300kw aftermarket turbo setup on the road might help you decide if you want drop the $2500 to get the extra power. But going for a drive in someone's would be the best option to compare power
