Looks aside, no actually, the only people who think a 32 looks better than a 33 are only compensating for the fact they can't afford the newer model. I only have 3 R33 coupes and 5 cars all up so it isn't a matter of what I can afford.

My outboard on my 6m boat produces more than most RB20's.

i have to call you on that geoff. i have owned both a 32 GTR and 33 GTR at the same time. and I think they both looked great. but I am in love with the 32 shape. have been since I was a little tacker so for me 32 GTR is the one that holds tight on my heart and wallet.

but i agree that in general everyone with a 32 will tell you 32 looks better, everyone with a 33 will tell you 33 looks better. otherwise they wouldn't have bought it...

as for this thread. well both the cars you posted are GTRs... and the 34 looks much nicer. the 33 looks terrible with that kit and colour. but do whatever you want. you don't need me to tell you it looks good (or not in this case).

I had a R33 and bought a R32 instead :P Glad I did too

That said I would never have bought it if it still had the RB20

So sick of people bagging out 33s saying their 32 is better. They are both awesome cars but lets break it down..

Better engine? 33GTR

Better Suspension setups? 33GTR

Fatter guards? 33GTR

Fit bigger/wider wheels? 33GTR

Newer? 33GTR

Better 4wd? 33GTR

Lighter? 32GTR

Price? 32GTR

Looks? This is always going to be personal preference. But I see more shitbox 32GTR's than 33GTR's. It's rare to find a nice 32GTR, where as most 33GTR's i know are nice.

And finally which car broke sub 8mins at the 'ring? 33GTR

To all the 32 owners who think they have a better car than a 33.... see above. You may think you're car looks better, and that's fine, thats personal preference, but don't fool yourself into thinking its a 'better' car....

My choice would be the GTR for the overall package, and only if you do MINIMAL mods and want to keep it fairly stock except for basic exhaust/air filter/boost mods.

The GTT looks better IMO and is a newer car. It depends if looks and age are more important to you than having a better car all round.

There is an objective way to work out what car YOU actually want (but maybe you dont know your own preference yet?) and this works for many decisions in life...

The easiest way is to use an excel spreadsheet...

First, make a list of aspects/features you want in your ideal car, ie. looks, handling, performance, ride comfort, price, reliability, maintaining costs... etc

Now for each car, write a score (say out of 100?) for each of these categories - so you will end up with 2 lists of scores, one for each car - each list has one score for each category. Remember that this is a rating, so for Price, you are rating how good you think the price is, so a higher rating doesn't necessarily mean higher price :P

In 1 completely separate list, for each category you listed above, give them a percentage score of how important that feature is to you - and try to make it so that the total of all your percentage scores comes to 100%.

Then line up the two lists against each other, and for each category (or feature), multiply the car's score by the percentage you chose, and so on down the list and finally total up your scores at the bottom.

Do the same for the other car, and the one with the highest total score is the one you will be more happy with. :(

Apologies if this is confusing - i've attached a spreadsheet for those interested in how this method works...this is just my example - if you want to modify it - change the values surrounded by borders and get your own result :(

You can adapt it to almost any choice between 2 or things that you have to make in life. Its great.

Please feel free to download this spreadsheet and modify it to your hearts content...i can certify that it is virus free (created and uploaded on Linux - very few viruses exist for the Linux Operating System and even if it had one, chances of it running on your windows pc are almost nil).

Enjoy! and I hope it helps...

R33's look puke for starters.. dere farken boats ffs man. I have driven both cars i wreckon R34 Gt-T wins hands down..

Personal opinion on there looks, but can you also back up your "boats" comment with some facts please? considering the 34 weighs the most out of the three generations.

considering that the r34 is heavier than the r33, what does that make them? oil tankers?

i love it when dickheads with r34's call r33 boats when they r34 weighs even more.

what sort of stupid comparison is this? you are comparing a 4wd 206kw+ (cause the 206kw quoted was a grossly under quoted figure), versus a 206kw rwd. there is a huge difference in performance.

yea Teazn, best idea.

I'm deciding to combine them but not buy a R34 GTR. too much cash for my wallet. i'm going to go with a 33GTR and do the 334 conversion so i have IMO the best car! Beacause iv always loved the 34's front end and always loved the 33's rear end. And no one can deniy that GTR potential soares well over any GTT or GTS T for that matter.

Please don't kill a perfectly good r33 GT-R with an r34 conversion...

Just be happy with an r34GT-T, you've obviously got your priorities wrong if the first thing you want to do to a GT-R is add a body kit. R33 GT-R's are pure sex with right set of jap lightweight wheels.

no, like i said thats the last thing i will be doing. obviously i'm after the power not the looks or i could get a gtt and do a simple gtr body conversion.

GTR is a far better car andwith lots more potential than either the GTT or the GTS T.

I have a list and the 334 conversion is literally at the bottom. i'm aiming for no less than 250rwkw before i even touch the body. and a handling kit will be in the equation before that too.

cheers,

Your answer is simple then. Get the GTR. It is a far superior car and you can make 250rwkw without spending much extra. In fact you can pickup one already making that for not much more than a stock one.

And spend $0 on body kit and instead get a nice set of Japanese lightweight wheels with the correct offset and your done in the looks dept.

you should buy an RS6 then.... with all that money of yours

Yeah, retired millionaire at 38 is hard to take.

I won't touch the Audi though as the suspension components and wheels are designed as low load failure points IOT save weight. Essentially not intelligent engineering IMPO. Consider the FMECA outcomes and the high speed risks and it is a recipe for disaster. Stick to a solidly engineered GTR which will outpower it and outhandle it without the price tag.

The GTR will make the 250rwkw with a zorst, 1 bar of boost and RR fuel reg so no need to waste money on a computer etc.

Persinally I fell in love with the 33R, couldnt afford to keep it after purchaseing one soooo step down.... 32R but couldnt afford to rebuild / renew / restore it like I would need to so I went out an bought a 33t an modified it. The plan is to keep it till I've paid of the house sufficiently to warrant selling the current car and purchase a 33r. till then il wind my t up till its a stable 250rwkw's for some sport @ the track.

    • Nah, they'll do it without a receipt, tell em roughly when it was, that it was cash, youll likely only get store credit, but that gets you some dollars towards the newer better shovel, or other item you need/want later.   Still take it back and have a crack at returning it.
    • Nah. Was just wondering if you were having a small stroke or if there was some slur/gaf/inside joke that I wasn't aware of.
    • That was a fark up, it's Salamanca Place I was thinking of. And now I'm curious as to what potential slur/gaf I have caused with Salamander Road, ha ha!
    • Actually everyone on the roads was really well behaved. The only person that did any minor tailgating was a local hoon in a Turbo Focus. Unfortunately we weren't going the same way so there was no grand initial D touge battle. Lots of people pulled over and let me through. The amount of "Hey man nice car, omg skyline, nice 34 man woo" was suprising. Like really suprising. Like almost annoying. My partner was obviously surprised, she'd never seen anyone in the real world point out the car/like the car/want to chat about the car before, so to have like 3 people per day mention it was notable, I could finally say SEE? SOMEONE THINKS THEY'RE COOL. Everyone was also pretty suprised about the weather. Every day was dry and about ~13-14C. Mount Wellington had a sign that said they close the gates at 9pm and I was heading up there at about ~7:30. It was VERY apparent that conditions were getting significantly worse by the minute on the way up and down. The road on the mountain was terrible though, it's no driving road. I have various suspension related questions now. Luckily it was only about 20 minutes from where we were staying to the top of the mountain as said Google maps. We only had the 2 nights in Hobart. We went to the Farm Gate Market though which was really good - And went down to the Hastings Thermal springs/caves down there during the day. I'd definitely be up for going back again, so luckily there's a few more sights yet to see. Didn't get to do the west coast/queenstown/cradle mountain so this was supposed to be a 'scouting' trip anyway of sorts if I were to one day do/take part in/organize a more car-focused trip. As for the boat, it wasn't bad. Well it was bad, but not in the way you're thinking. We did the night trip which leaves at 6:45 (though you have to be there ~2 hours earlier) and arrives the next morning at about 6am. There is nothing to do on the ship. If you plan accordingly and bring a book/tablet/show to watch/charger you can just chill out, take some Travacalm and just sleep through it. The food there is an extremely basic buffet that costs $32 a plate, or $14 for a $3 pizza. The way back we had a travel kettle and a few different types of cup noodles and made our own tea/coffee in the room. This was a far superior way to do it. At the very least book one of the rooms with beds. I guess as we were in the off season we didn't have room mates. You get an option for rooms with 4 beds (2x bunks) or a room with just the two bottom beds. There's also some option for a deluxe queen bed but it's much pricer. We've been on sleeper trains in Asia before so we figured this is similar (and it was)
