hey just thought id start the same thread as the one in NSW. I know its copying, lol but it seems like a good idea and a good way to network. And it gives a headsup to students at Uni or tafe and what they can expect in a particular industry.

Well im a second year Uni student, doing a double major in Accounting and Economics at Monash Berwick. Still not sure whether Accounting would be challenging or boring as everyone says lol. If there are any Accountants on here give me an insight in your typical day. Cheers

lol where bouts in dandy sth... hammond road? im in sth too. Im doing my Eco subjects this year and accounting ones next year, and im doing pretty good.. but yeh not everyone that goes to uni is smart.. i realised that this year. caus they could have gone to tafe, got people to do all their assignments and then transfer to uni.. but you cant do that at uni caus most subjects have exams with 70% of your total mark... anyway a bit of topic but jst an insight lol.

I sell fibre optic cable, accessories, rack cabinets, etc. Basically I sell anything to do with fibre optics (the data type, not the decorative lighting type.)

I started uni back in '03 and realised it was a waste of time for me so I got straight into work. I was always going to end up with a job in IT/Telecommunications.

my friend is currently studying telecommunications enigneering and needs to do Vacational work experience. Would your company be interested? PM us :ermm:

The networking has already begun!111 :whistling:

Im studying Industrial Engineering & Engineering Management at Monash Clayton.

Will be looking for vac work this year, so if any business looking for lean manufacturing, six sigma, performance rating etc send us a PM

Work for Tru Energy connecting gas and elec. Studied IT though but hard to get a job in that area. Worked full time as a comp tech before and do "backyard" jobs whenever I can. Just hard to get a decent paying job in the area. Studied Network Engineering.

I am an accountant and it isnt too boring but like any job it does have its moments.

I worked in tax for several years and it is the hardest and least paying area of the profession. Try to get into working for a big 4 firm in financial reporting or even auditing. THis will give you a good background to work for a larger company in commerce and away from public practice. Time sheets and shitty clients will bother you.

Working in commerce generally pays a lot more and is more rewarding IMO than public practice.

First few years out of uni suck but once you a qualified CPA or CA and gain a further 5 years plus experience you will not work for less than $100k.

Bus driver for the State transit Authority...may not be the glitziest career, but its pretty relaxing and a fantastic perve as well...just think all those gorgeous city office girls I get to check out...of course the job has its moments ( like any job I guess )....but overall I enjoy what I do. No more manual labour for me again

    • Unsolicited advice? Keep the engine as close to stock as you can. Nothing wrong with adding some boost and making a little more power, but given where you are, you really don't want to try to make it into a monster. I can't imagine the roads are up to it, and the lack of locla support when it grenades will be a ball ache. FWIW, If there is a dyno around that you can access, then brand new injectors are a good idea, which will lead you to (at least) putting a Nistune in it, which will allow you to put an R35 AFM on it, all of which will make it possible to make it much much nicer to drive and live with.
    • List all of your mods. It sounds like an aftermarket ECU hitting rev limiter. Like a valet mode, or a cold rpm limiter?
    • @Kapr Haha yeah thats the one. I missed that you had a built up engine, I wouldn't want to run it on there either then. It was good in my situation just to replace the original turbo on a stock engine. @MBS206Yep definitely not a replacement for anything name brand
    • You are selling this? I have never bought something from marketplace...i dont know if i trust that enough. And the price is little bit "too" good...
