Just put hi-lighter over it. Forgive how rough it is etc.

Yellow is original 315 result

Blue is 307 ex gate

Green is new one with .82 rear

Maybe Stao can get proper comparison sheet when he try's next wheel

Thats with all of them running about 22psi yeh?

I think the new setup internally gated has the nicest curve

Didn't check boost actually But they are all final results so yeah around that. Too hard searching around on my phone to do it properly

But new one runs 82 housing not 63 so should be cooler on track. yet response is still on par.

Further updates. This is the 2nd SS2 prototype been trailed. More responsive and made more power to previous version. Internally gated.

Max of 312rwkws on BP 98 and 210rwkws by 4000RPMs

22psi by 3750RPMs, 20psi by 3650 RPMs:

Max of 348rwkws on E85, probably another 15kws in it as my fuel pump is out.

I believe this turbo would make a pretty responsive 250~280rwkws internally gated on a stock manifold on pump with around 18psi of boost. Would go crazy to run on external gate and e85.

The 5 bolt externally gated version is cheaper then the bolton internally gated version. That is $1100 The factory bolton version is $1375 and oil line is additional $88 which is required to complete the setup.

For any one whom's looking for the externally gated setup, I can supply brae auto's high mount manifold with any turbochargers, with $200 discount off total.

pretty good value..

Too late now. You already picked your side

Its never too late ;)

If I ever get done for my external gate prompting a rebuild, I would definately consider it, until then my car is fast and I am happy...

For any one whom's looking for the externally gated setup, I can supply brea auto's high mount manifold for $900 with any turbochargers, they are $1100 retail, so $200 off the total package.

50mm external gate is for $200.

Fark cheaper then the SS1PU

I thought external gates were ok as long as they are plumbed into the exhaust?

Or are you running a screamer pipe?

the breas are a side mount manifold yes, or do they do a top mount aswell?

Can you weld up something to run the external wastegate off the underside of the rear housing (and plum back into the exhaust futher down) rather than having to buy a new manifold or does that not really work that well?

It can be done, gain is more significant if the external gate is fitted on to the exhaust manifold.

Stao, in your eyes, what would work best if you had 2 options with the ss2, a internal gate ss2 on a brea manifold..or a external

gate ss2 with ext gate put on stock manifold?

cheers

Obviously Externally gated setup would pickup more power. There should be 20kws gain running external gate on my current setup.

well I wasn't sure it was so obvious, you said you picked up 15rwkw going from Brea from standard mani ..so i would have thought

the gains from standard manifold to ext gate might have only closed that sort of figure in..guess its one of those things you(not you, but someone)

really have to back to back...

cheers

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
