hypergear
I think up 200rwkws @ 15psi is all good The 8 additional psi for 8kws part is not normal. Is the car running a 3inch metal induction pipe? if so try again with exhaust dropped from the cat. Also is VCT enabled with this SR? GTScotT
How do I embed photos? Got my s14 tuned today with a hypergear ss1pu, bit of a disappointing result, but that's more to do with my setup unfortunately. Photo speaks for itself, high boost, low power, choking for some reason, new exhaust coming. IIRC results were: 188kw @ 14psi, 200kw @ 15psi, 203kw @ 18psi, 208kw @ 23psi http://s702.photobucket.com/user/Joey92_4020/media/20131107_165404.jpg.html Something here is very wrong. What did your tuner say about the issue? It's reasonably proven now that the SS1PU on an SR is within the realms of a responsive turbo, and will make 240 without breaking a sweat. Yours is both laggy and failing to get anywhere near the power. If you go back to page 1 you will be able to find my dyno sheet in the reference list, mine is an SS1PU on an SR with NO VCT. Dose Pipe Sutututu
you sure your tuner knows what he is doing? that power band looks totally McFuarked.. looks like there's massive amounts of timing pulled out after it goes on song.. also looks really laggy? Trib
My exhaust is really mix and match, 2.75" china split dump, mild steel front pipe, stainless 3" from there to 2.5" muffler, back to 3" stainless with twin 3" tips. He said changing this to a straight 3" will really help. If the gains are shit after that, then to look at the cam timing. It felt really responsive when I first put the turbo on last week, and that was with the ecu still tuned to big injectors and the 3071, definitely feels laggier since being tuned though. It was determined that the VCT in this is not working, so I'm on the lookout for reasonably priced vct gears as well. Comparing the graphs, this comes on a lot sooner than the 3071 60kph instead of 102, but full boost on this is at like 150, whereas the 3071 was 140. The tuner is fairly reputable up here in Brisbane, but maybe I will try somewhere else after I change the exhaust. While I'm here, is 3.5" exhaust setup going to be too big? Found a well priced stainless one secondhand, but not sure about the size... Joshbigt62r
3.5" is perfect matey. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-turbochargers-and-high-flow-services-development-thread/page/448/#findComment-7099673 Share on other sites

hy_rpm
Something is restricting it to 200rwkw no matter what boost Exhaust blockage Intake sucking shut VCt stuck Intercooler size and flow ? Either that or check engine condition compression test Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-turbochargers-and-high-flow-services-development-thread/page/448/#findComment-7099960 Share on other sites
iruvyouskyrine
Look carefully at the cat with a broomstick and/or a hole saw This. Use the broomstick to remove the inside of the cat so you can see inside it and check it's clear. hy_rpm
Looks like you got the r33 21u highflow performing just as good as a ss1pu 21u highflow makes 242rwkw on 15psi Ss1pu makes 252rwkw on 18psi both tuned by toshi aswell on 98 same dyno Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-turbochargers-and-high-flow-services-development-thread/page/448/#findComment-7100062 Share on other sites
hypergear
I believe That SS1PU's result is a little low, might due to some parts of the setup. Refering to John's 21U's high flow result. It made 320rwkws on E85 with factory setup, same as what SS1PU made on a proper high mount with external gate. The new high flow should make similar power or higher power as the SS1PU. Which I will just have to work on a more responsive and more powerful version of it Another result of a bolton version of SS2 sent in today. from a R34 Skyline using Pump 100 fuel. Final figure of 293rwkws @ 17.5psi And perfect internal gated boost control. V28VX37
Another result of a bolton version of SS2 sent in today. from a R34 Skyline using Pump 100 fuel. Final figure of 293rwkws @ 17.5psi That's a very good result, I assume it's a manual? Is it possible to get a list of supporting mods? I know that the auto driveline wastes power but there's a 36 rwkw difference between this and my R34 auto (same boost), which seems like quite a bit. Manuel Kasko
Stao currently is your 21U high flow better than the SS1PU in terms of power and response? hypergear
I havent had it on my car to max it out yet, but current result does appear to be the case. specially those results are from 20 years old stock engines. Manuel Kasko
Do the water lines and oil lines stay in the same spot when you high flow one of them? Or will it take some adjusting of the water lines to make a high flow 21U fit like how you do with the SS1PU Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-turbochargers-and-high-flow-services-development-thread/page/448/#findComment-7101254 Share on other sites
hypergear
They all boltup using stock lines and factory drain, so fitting up is bit easier then the SS1PU. Will be conducting further evaluations based on this model. Manuel Kasko
So with a high flow 21U I wouldn't have to bend the stock water lines like I did when I fitted the SS1PU? Just trying to work out my options for my R34 I have an SS1PU to transplant into the r34 but I don't want to go through the issues I had with the oil drain and the water lines. Hanaldo
Haha just make up some braided lines Mani. It's easy to do and not too expensive. Makes turbo installation a breeze Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/261613-hypergear-turbochargers-and-high-flow-services-development-thread/page/448/#findComment-7101524 Share on other sites
Manuel Kasko
Then I have to get to that water line behind the block. I tried to get to it last time and just couldn't figure it out. Also if the new 21U is better than the SS1PU then I may as well upgrade if its easier to install.
