I'll have to pull it down, but i'm guessing the valvle didn't close properly for what ever reason, and it gas axed the side out of it. We checked plugs, injectors, and ignitor on the side of the road.

We rounded that GT2 up 2 stages in a row!! There will be more stages uploaded soon.

I wondered what happened! I saw you were 3rd going into the last day and then finished 5th. Time for a 2jz?

It was 2nd, and no shitty Toyota engine is going in my car. I've done a different thing each time from the bottom up, so now i'm at the top, the next engine will be fine.

Rinadeena looks like an amazing stage...absolutely hammering! Suspension looks planted. OK, time to start flogging your spec Penskes to the rest of us :)

I did almost poo my pants at 10:25 when the car jumped sideways. If you want some I can put you onto my tuner, he organised all the valving. still learning a lot about setting them up, but being able to adjust hi and low speeds separatly makes a big diference in changing conditions. Any good shock can have my valving applied Penske/ohlins (sweedsh)/mca/proflex.... But it's probably cheaper to get the Penske's out of the states, and revalve them here

the bloke that done the specks on the shocks is about to do the same thing to a old set of jap ohlins that i got ahold of. they only have one twiddle valve but he said he will get them close enough.

this year ben adjusted the shocks at least every other stage and the car got faster by the end of each day and once it rained he new what way to go with them. it would take a few club days to dial these in perfect so its not a set and forget part. just for anyone elce thinking they mite like to spend the money. beauty of a bilstein is you cant adjust it. haha.

Starting to sound like a 300zx, 5 days... Engine out Lol! I won't touch it next year, promise!

PS where is the adjustment on the Penske's??? The KW we ran were easy to adjust on the front, but UBER gay on the rear.. especially on the side of the road between stages

c'mon a 300zx need a engine out every stage.

The penske's are upside down (shaft at the bottom), and the remote canisters are under the boot and bonnet (high and low speed bump), so the bump is super easy. Rebound is on the bottom of the shock, and required laying on the ground. But I didn't change the rebound very often.

haha well you were damn luck it was running at all.

I'd be pulling, checking and cleaning the head. When I snapped a cam it f**ked the tunnel as well and it needed to be machined straight again. Also, you will have aluminium everywhere including the sump.

    • So either way it is gearbox out and look what is wrong?  I know about the input shaft bearing. Even before swap/new clutch the it sounded exactly like this: So is that inout shaft bearing or the other was installed backwards?  And can some please tell me the part number for that input shaft bearing? The gearbox is small box from R34 N/A and number is FS5W71C. Thank you
    • I am yet to see anyone ever regret a quaife or helical. ...other than drifting/skidpan duties. I kind of want to upgrade my factory helical with a Quaife (but really it's not ultimately that different, and is a MASSIVE UNDERTAKING), that's how good the hype is about them, that I want to try them 'just to see'
    • D2 and Ksport are essentially the same thing and basically just generic Taiwanese manufacture. Better than ChinaBay crap, but... not top shelf. Öhlins have got to be some of the best dampers around, so likely to be a good option. It's going to get to the point though where I suggest you buy from Oz. We have at least 2x excellent options here. If I were you though, I'd be talking to KW about doing something for the R33. There's bugger all difference between that and the 32. In GTR land, anyway.
    • KW only offers a set for the R32 GTR. Popular options are D2 racing, Ksport or Öhlins. I have a D2 Racing coilover set, though I don't know for sure which one.
    • Well, the good news is you have more than one very good option for new coilovers in and around your country. Worth the drive over to KW to talk about GTR stuff.
