If you win this competition, the one i went on NYE you win a Brand New Toyota FJ Land Cruiser ! big money up for grabs! hence the pro mod engines in the cars, there are 2 classes, 6cyl and 8cyl. the 6 cyl's have up to 1800hp !!

Winner of the 6 cyl was a V6 Buick and cannot remember what car won the V8 class. Its a very very big sand hill, 52deg up hill, it was amazing everyone brings their turbo buggys and banshee's and raptors and even LSX powered buggys and cruises around.. these guys here really know how to live it up and have some fun with all kinds of toys!

ohhh wow the thread is sticky now! cool :) I will have to post up some stuff

f**king hell! it's a long way down when you loose it at the top of a run. :( poor bloke. cage can't have been too bad though since he did live to tell about it. you don't really get an idea of just how steep it is till the end of the vid when you can see the flat ground at the bottom where people are standing waiting to come up and help. it looked like it just hooked a bit of a sharp turn at the end of his run. probably the most dangerous part of the whole thing is turning around at the top...

yeah when he was showing me the video he was saying "i cant look at it i cant look at it"

They take things to the next extreme here.. I just cant wait to get into the Sheikh's LS1 powered buggy we have here at the workshop atm. its a 4 seater and it lives most of its time on power on 2 wheels :)

Here is a Nissan Patrol I tuned, actually I had alot to do with this one, the previous tuner could not get the tune right so it needed some GT loving, i found alot of problems with the car that i got them to change etc etc

676hp at wheels on 1.3 bar. The gearbox lasted about 5 minutes on first test run, but the replacement box seems to be holding up okay now.

Its a Nissan TB48DE, its got some mild cams in it, stock head.. forgies and rods, 1000cc injectors, Motec M600, it sounds like a stock standard Nissan Patrol untill the boost comes on, there are 2 big external wastegates in the exhaust with small springs on them, so when the car comes on boost the wastegates open and bang no back pressure to make the power, its pretty cool they dont like loud cars here because the police give out fines etc etc...

The engines have VCT exactly like the RB25, and they are pretty similar to tune like a RB25 except they love ignition timing, such big bore and stroke makes a world of difference.

I punished this engine and she just wont quit... So... Let it live a hard life i say! Going back to the track soon, and we have the best track in the world here!

Going back to the track soon, and we have the best track in the world here!

I think we're going to be needing videos of this track you speak so fondly of!

Love your work mate, keep it up! thumbsup.gif

im going to go run the car on street tyres on wednesday! finally found some Motul 300v, but cannot find any tyres :(

if i can grab a 11 with street tyres that would be good! il get some videos to post up

I ran 11.1 again... Still could not beat my previous time.... but it was lots of fun :)

I needed more time to setup the car and tune.. but ran out.. next time it will all be good for a 10 i am sure.

nice time mate. seriously though what the f was with the cameraman? was he massively pissed or what??? lol. he was turning around, looking at the ground, but of thumb on the lense. it had it all. not what I'd call top shelf cinematography. lol. :)

I handed the boss my Iphone 4 when i got to the start line and he did the best he could i guess holding the camera and his radio.. he is one of the head organisers of the track

  • 2 weeks later...

went back to the track again today, ran a decent number.

10.8 at 135mph. After this run i pulled the pin and went home. Running drag tyre on rear and street radial on the front the car was moving all over the track i simply did not want to run again... I shit the gear.

yeah car is full weight with stereo and spare wheel and carpets and everything.... my best 60 was 3 weeks ago with 1.58

Shit the gear means i nearly shit my pants when the car was grab walking from the wall to the center line and back all the way up the quarter mile because i am not using front runners with drag slicks.

Was not keen to experience that again. going to buy some suitable front wheels and tyres and find some stock suspension this was done with cheap JJ G4 coil overs!... (Yes 2rismo you were right) :)

    • The question then becomes - was there any fluid coming from that hole before you did the rebuild ?    You may not have noticed, of course.   Depending on how you did the rebuild, the possibility has to be considered that somehow (cleaning ?)  fluid entered that hole and is now being 'forced'  out by small movements of the proportioning valve.   From the factory, there's actually a small rubber plug in that hole but with age and under-bonnet heat it's quite common for it to 'go missing'.  That rubber plug is designed to allow the venting process but also to prevent 'stuff' getting to the area (prevent corrosion, etc).   The plug is also not available as a spare part AFAIA. Personally I wouldn't race and buy a new master just yet but keep an eye on the area to see if the 'leak' continues.   If you're concerned about brake fluid damaging nearby paintwork, cable tie a piece of suitable absorbant material over the hole and remove/monitor occasionally.    Operation of the proportioning valve and the brake master itself won't be affected, but also keep an eye on brake fluid level, of course. In terms of a new master, the genuine part is getting expensive, unfortunately.  Amayama is showing AUD900+.   I was searching recently and there's an aftermarket part available from Japan made by 'Parts Assist': https://zenmarket.jp/en/yahoo.aspx?q=BNR32%2bBM50&p=1 Whether it's any good I have no idea, although in my experience Japanese aftermarket stuff is pretty good quality-wise.   The above site allows overseas buyers to purchase stuff more easily from Japan but there are fees and shipping costs, of course.   The original Japanese seller page is here: https://auctions.yahoo.co.jp/jp/auction/p1197401228 Copper/Nickel is fine but I still prefer bundy tube and it's also cheaper.
