Just confirmed my suspicision for the laggy-ness, inspected n tensioned my throttle cable to just about touch-tight responsiveness. Doesnt feel so laggy now anymore, got a lot of the crisp touch- responsiveness of my stock turbo back and smiles all round. Very nice street turbo the 5558, mines not so linear but gives an angry meaty kick at 4000ish which is what I always wanted. Still running pretty pussy boost 16-18psi so top end is left wanting..

Ohhh man ur really peer-pressuring me lolz..:( was thinking water injection, re-route part-cooler pipe, crank up boost as next mod... And clutch when the stocker shits itself haha. Have you seen my dyno-plot, and any comments? Laggy hey.. Well I only know the stocker's response thats why I keep saying its a bit of a lag-boat.

all of the stuff on your printout is just about identical to my gtx3076 with 0.82 when i had a tune on 98pulp.

Hey thanks man, if thats the case then I should be pretty happy that it matches a top of the range Garret..and yes it does wheelspin n skate second gear on 18 inch Bridgestone Potenzas. Third as well if I give it some stick. How much torque did you make, mine comes to 736Nm if that can be relied on. And Kasko ur right, it will never be like the stocker down low but its not far off either :)

f**k rerouting intercooler pipe..waste of time and money , water injection will fix it, my mates vl i did, 28psi of boost, before intake mani was to

hot to touch, now with 450cc of water in its guts you can touch it fine...

Its one way to fix chinese intercooler problems(eg they make good power and flow well, but heatsoak really easy..lol)

cheers

i was making 641nm, so looks like the two turbo's are similar on that boost, not sure about the housing differences though..

its a good result though, looks like 16psi, probably needs atleast 20psi to really unleash

Well the ching ching cooler is doin a good job because the outlet pipe up till a bit past the battery tray is nice n cool, BUT once you reach the rad/fan area it heats up pretty quick all the way to intake mani. So I know its not the cooler thats why I wanted to re-route and heat wrap that bit of top pipe away from rad/fan and cam covers

Yours honestly isnt laggy Ron, its pretty decent. Full boost threshold is pre 4000 which is decent. Peak toque isnt far off. It didnt make the 300 you hoped for but then again its close enough.

The result is pretty decent as is :)

    • They are, a good friend of mine bought one to replace his blow factory turbo, running a Toshi Tune reflash. Just use their supplied water/oil lines and you're good to go. At the time, they were like $900 delivered.
    • This is an option for 100% bolt on, the GCG high flow -  https://gcg.com.au/turbo-charger-upgrade-skyline-gtst-2iu-xtrgts-s1.html Also, I'm pretty sure hypergear does a high flow that is 100% bolt on, it just doesn't make as much power as their bigger high flows.  Even if you get a hypergear turbo that requires you to chance the intake piping, it is a really simple modification. It can be as simple as a piece of silicon hose and you pop a filter on the end. It doesn't have to be some crazy pie cut titanium work of art intake pipe.  If you have the ability to swap the turbo yourself, you would be able to sort the intake piping out.
    • Just as a thought, if it's in neutral, thats your drive line disconnect, not the clutch. Clutch slip at the dyno with pedal fully out, is actually adding a second disconnect. So it's not a clutch issue if you're in neutral. Just a bit of friction dragging the output around while in the air.
    • The HG high flow is excellent, and costs about the $$ you're talking about. But it, and probably every other highflow, uses a diffeent core than the original turo, and the original Hitatchi core is quite long. So, I think it is inevitable that there is likely no such thing as a highflow that just "bolts on" with no other effort required. And the same is likely true for HG's outright replacement "bolt on" turbos (the ATR things). And the same is likely true for anything similar from elsewhere. I have no idea if the cheap Chinese/Taiwanese complete turbos from eBay/Temu/etc are as bolt on as they claim. I mean, they claim the bolt onto the NAs as well as the turbos, and we know that can't be "bolt on". But it wouldn't matter because I'm not buying a $169 4 psi turbo for anything other than a paddock basher.
    • Bummer...yeah i "need" something to "ease" up the work and for my driving it would be enough.    Iam counting the tune "without" turbo. I do not mean "cheap" like something from Temu around 200 USD, "Cheap" is something around 1000 USD?
