smellsior needs better fitment, 33 gtst needs moar neons, moar headrests and less man-cleavage in photos.

Hah!

Did you see that Orange 180SX and the Yellow "Transformer"?

I quite like the DMC.

Here's some pics from my camera phone.

Powderfinger on Saturday night were great for the short amount of time i was there!

Alan you look like you're in your element!

And yes, for those of you who couldn't put the name to the face, it's Lisa from beauty and the geek australia.

Some cool cars there! To team Andrews, the 32R looks amazing!

Some really qwerky/awesome cars there this year! 34 Jap cop car, the 'outatime' DMC, the Baker and the '57. Loving the tow sticker! lol

Me and Timmy came past at about 11-1130.

The display looked great! Not sure about some of the cars but thats autosalon for ya! Good work guys!

The red 32R was tidy as f**k!

Al we didnt see you there!

I was there all 4 days from about 10am till 5-6pm, but i did wonder off for long periods, looking at the various "attractions" round the circuit :)

Here's some pics from my camera phone.

isnt the chick in the last pic on the left the one from beauty and the geek?

whatever her name was

yes it's Lisa, she was really nice.

and the man boob and that messy interior is a shot that should be deleted! we (me and phil) turned up back at the cars just before powderfinger came on, quite smashed, and found bez in the dark clicking away. phil was half naked in the rain showing epic man boob while i was quite out of it and reving the stock engine LOL. damn i wanted to do burnouts on the golf course but too many cops around with the 'monstar energy' party going on just in front of us.

argh good times

Rofl Shaun @ that random... "THATS A PRETTY SICK BOV U GOT THERE MAN!, ITS LIKE FAST & FURIOUS"

stock bov? lmao

earlier in that day these lil kids kept coming under ropes to see [CR34M] the green R34 on display with us. they were like i swear i saw tthis in fast & furious i told them its gonna be in number 5 and they kept asking me what it had i said rb25 and they just blankly starred at me and asking what it has again so i just said RB20 Rotaty with a 2jz block cam gear internet. they were amused and then asked what HP it got i said over 9000 lollol

    • Bit of a pity we don't have good images of the back/front of the PCB ~ that said, I found a YT vid of a teardown to replace dicky clock switches, and got enough of a glimpse to realize this PCB is the front-end to a connected to what I'll call PCBA, and as such this is all digital on this PCB..ergo, battery voltage probably doesn't make an appearance here ; that is, I'd expect them to do something on PCBA wrt power conditioning for the adjustment/display/switch PCB.... ....given what's transpired..ie; some permutation of 12vdc on a 5vdc with or without correct polarity...would explain why the zener said "no" and exploded. The transistor Q5 (M33) is likely to be a digital switching transistor...that is, package has builtin bias resistors to ensure it saturates as soon as base threshold voltage is reached (minimal rise/fall time)....and wrt the question 'what else could've fried?' ....well, I know there's an MCU on this board (display, I/O at a guess), and you hope they isolated it from this scenario...I got my crayons out, it looks a bit like this...   ...not a lot to see, or rather, everything you'd like to see disappears down a via to the other side...base drive for the transistor comes from somewhere else, what this transistor is switching is somewhere else...but the zener circuit is exclusive to all this ~ it's providing a set voltage (current limited by the 1K3 resistor R19)...and disappears somewhere else down the via I marked V out ; if the errant voltage 'jumped' the diode in the millisecond before it exploded, whatever that V out via feeds may have seen a spike... ....I'll just imagine that Q5 was switched off at the time, thus no damage should've been done....but whatever that zener feeds has to be checked... • I think Fitmit had some, have a look on there (theyre Australian as well)
    • Hah, fair enough! But if you learn with this one you can drive any other OEM manual. No modern luxury features like auto rev-matching or hillstart assist to give you a false sense of confidence. And a heavy car with not that much torque so it stalls easily.
    • Actually, I'd say all three are the automatic option. Just the different trim levels. The manual would be RSFS, no?
