Looks bad. Glad your ok. I had a 10km/h accident a while back and am still crying about. Don't write it off until you get some quotes from some good repairers. I have a mate who's a panel beater and I've seen him resurrect some stuff I thought was gone for sure.

I know. I think of the close calls I had rallying at that age, coulda written off a few cars. Huge dropoffs and trees, but I kept going because it was racing. Hate to think of this happening on the public roads.

I used to own a coupla bicycle shops and we always kept the helmets from the pro racers we sponsored who had totalled it to convince young mums to buy a helmet for the kids when they thought it was unecessary expense.

In the army bases we used to put a coupla wrecks at the exit gate before leave started to slow the guys down.....

I just hope Denis and the other young guys start to do this in the right places. On the track so they can learn from mistakes without major consequence. The tracks are set up for offs. The roads are scary because of the hard things and gutters that are so unforgiving.

Accidents do happen though.

Christ, all that was done at 70km/hr???

Sorry to read about the accident, even sorrier that it came about by your own hand. Thankfully noone was hurt because noone needs to learn that hard a lesson...

Dont need to say anymore, im sure you realise folly of your actions, just glad to read everyone is ok, any neg driving charges etc, the police will have to become involved for insurance purposes.

MINES_DATSUN... I feel sorry for you... don't get me wrong. I've been in a similar accident (at a similar age too) and it shook the sh!t out of me, and it wasn't until I had that accident that I really realised what tool I was behind the wheel. I'm glad to say I've NEVER had an accident since then...

But just one thing mate: STAY OUT OF GT-Rs.

R33 GT-Rs (well, any GT-R) aren't made anymore... you go smashing them up, and they'll become even more rare and expensive. I know, it could happen to anyone, but you've demonstrated that you can't handle GT-Rs. On the other hand, if you'd posted up pics of a smashed Holden... ;)

Well, I gotta say... I saw this coming. ;)

Denis, I'm glad your OK and I hope you learn a valuable lesson from this.

Your attitude since joining these forums has been not only personally irritating but also extremely immature. Your accident only reinforces my feelings.

And to elaborate on what Rezz said: STAY OUT OF SKYLINES!

Wow... I never saw this coming ;)

20 Years Old, parents buy you a GTR after writing of another car ugh2.gif

And with an attitude like this:

to me really id never buy a r33 gtst. they are damn slow. GTR all the way.
man, why on earth do you drive a maxima ?

I really have no sympathy for you. Karma's a bitch isn't it?

Perhaps now you'll be lucky to drive a Maxima, but going by your parent's track record, they'll probably buy you an Enzo Ferrari now.

Do you like my new signature? :(

good that you came out 1 piece intact from the accident. consider yourself lucky that its 2am and no ones around. i cannot imagine the conseqences if this happened in the arvo when ppl are in the bus stop.

yeah... stay with the gemi.

11 years ago a mate was given a turbo porsche....he wrapped it around a telegraph pole killing his girlfriend. He was DUI and had no insurance. This totally wreaked a large amount of people as their lives were changed. The parents blamed themselves for getting the car.

MINES, it would have been a completly different story if there were 6 drunk teens at the bus stop waiting for a bus when you came around that corner.....it would be a bad headline, 20yo in GTR kills 6 while speeding.......you must consider every result before you take risks.

I am glad no one was hurt, by the looks of the wreck, one foot further foward and that big dent is where your head would be.

Live and learn......this is why we are being hasseled by the cops and our insurance is through the roof, I will not flame you for what you did as you will already feel like S..t

damn. the death of GTR is a sad day indeed.

buy a mighty 'rolla - i had one as my first car and it felt fast. Maybe do some training before getting a fast car again.

My mate has a '84 AE82 1.6 corolla for sale - 5g's ;)

**** me some of you guys must have no hearts at all. How could any of you wish he was hurt in the accident, you think that would teach him anymore of a lesson?

Like everyone else says good its good to see your ok and no1 was seriously hurt. At the end of the day a car is still just a car, theres plenty of em around. Its unfortunate things like this happen but they do.

shame about the car.

ld be interested to find out about insurance and whether they will actually pay up.

20 yr old (Ps i assume) in melb, driving a high powered car, while speeding.

Not to sound nasty, but i could see you losing your license and not getting anything from the insurance.

How could any of you wish he was hurt in the accident,

No one on this forum would wish injury on anyone else. It is more a case of hoping he learns a valuable lesson from this. As someone has already posted, the boy has been obnoxious and childish with posts, and even though it is sad that a GTR was wrecked, maybe (though i doubt) he'll learn something.

I also ****ed my first 33 at the age of 19. It wakes you up abit for about 3-4 months. Then your back to doing the same thing. Aslong as you had fun and not hurt, I say forget about it.. My only question is, did you have insurance? cos i was known as being a dickhead for paying $4900 a year for insurance.... until the dammage was 13k and paid off. Were not driving mokes here, there high powered machines, which we modify to go even faster. advice: start selling everything you can off it, and raise up what u can, im sure ull get a fair bit, then continue the quest for the next R!

I don't feel sorry for you matey. You're not hurt? Damn?! Maybe that's why you feel like you can just buy another car and go on giving it some in corners. Sure you could have killed yourself but if it was your fault then that's ok by me

No1 here wishes hed hurt himself?

Then again theres always one in every crowd, so i probably shouldnt assume you all feel the way as this clown does.

Everyone does crazy stuff.

I remember a few months back i was doing 90km on the highway in the rain, got to a corner and thought it would be a good idea to put my foot down to get a little side ways. I got hell sideways and i have no idea how i got the car strait again.

I was doing the wrong thing, but some people do things without really thinking about it and it usually happenes when your younger.

Such as life baby.

PS: I wonder how many people with skylines have broken the speed limit before?

    • I would just put EBC back on the "I would not use their stuff" pile and move on.
    • Can I suggest you try EBC directly again and link them to as many competitor catalogues as you can to show their listing is incorrect, eg https://dba.com.au/product/front-4000-series-hd-brake-rotor-dba42304/ If you have access to an R33 GTST VIN and your VIN, you could also use a Nissan Parts lookup like Amayama to show them the part number is different between 33 GTST and 34 GTT which may get their attention
    • So i got reply from EBC and they just this site where you can clearly see those 296mm fronts on R34 GTT. I send them photos and "quotes" that 296mm are not for 34 GTT and they are too small. But it will be very hard to return them cuz nobody here knows 100% and they just copy those EBC catalogue :-D https://ebcbrakesdirect.com/automotive/nissan/skyline-r34
    • Hi, is the HKS  Tower Bar still available ? negotiable ? 🤔
    • From there, it is really just test and assemble. Plug the adapter cables from the unit into the back of the screen, then the other side to the car harness. Don't forget all the other plugs too! Run the cables behind the unit and screw it back into place (4 screws) and you should now have 3 cables to run from the top screen to the android unit. I ran them along the DS of the other AV units in the gap between their backets and the console, and used some corrugated tubing on the sharp edges of the bracket so the wires were safe. Plug the centre console and lower screen in temporarily and turn the car to ACC, the AV should fire up as normal. Hold the back button for 3 sec and Android should appear on the top screen. You need to set the input to Aux for audio (more on that later). I put the unit under the AC duct in the centre console, with the wifi antenna on top of the AC duct near the shifter, the bluetooth antenna on the AC duct under the centre console The GPS unit on top of the DS to AC duct; they all seem to work OK there are are out of the way. Neat cable routing is a pain. For the drive recorder I mounted it near the rear view mirror and run the cable in the headlining, across the a pillar and then down the inside of the a pillar seal to the DS lower dash. From there it goes across and to one USB input for the unit. The second USB input is attached to the ECUtec OBD dongle and the 3rd goes to the USB bulkhead connected I added in the centre console. This is how the centre console looks "tidied" up Note I didn't install the provided speaker, didn't use the 2.5mm IPod in line or the piggyback loom for the Ipod or change any DIP switches; they seem to only be required if you need to use the Ipod input rather than the AUX input. That's it, install done, I'll follow up with a separate post on how the unit works, but in summary it retains all factory functions and inputs (so I still use my phone to the car for calls), reverse still works like factory etc.
