I finished the new exhaust today, thanks Cam for helping. :woot:

I managed to keep the pipe as straight as possible given the tight space to work with. 3.5 inch dump (flattened for clearance) into 100cpsi cat and 3 inch front pipe. The rest of the system is Cam's old 3 inch one, Legalis is it? It still sounds louder than I want... The price you pay for a performance exhaust I guess.

Have yet to drive it so I will let you know my thoughts tomorrow, I will also have to get back on the dyno and tune for this and the boost controller so hopefully good gains. :woot:

NICE!!!

Thats hot scotty.

PM about your old exhaust. Keen on making another one of those front/dumps?? Ill buy one...

Lol, If you buy the old system wont you be jealous when your brother rips one of the new dumps out? :woot:

I can make more of them but you can only imagine how much time that many welds takes. I haven't priced them up but they wont be cheap... Also, they are a bitch to fit. What's your tool selection like? It could be worth a trip down.

nice exhaust, good that you gave it a go yourself dude... rather than paying a pro to do it...

the welds are okay for a beginner...

did you really have to "flatten" the front for clearance? liek the 3inch wouldnt fit at all?

interesting concept, although i will be doing mine a little differently.

but seriosuly kudos for doing it yourself, love your style

when i finally decide to do mine. which shouldnt be too long away...

i only got my car friday and its not complied yet lol

ill be able to make more for anyone who wants one... and i wont be charging much, if anything at all...

ive made 3 or 4 custom intercooler kits for ppl when i was in the drift scene. and i only charged like 50 bucks labour. and they had to pay for material. (trying to help ppl out)

where i work we make huge ginormous tanks and vessels. for CSL (who make the drugs and vaccines for everyone) and food tanks... so all we do is bust our ass, and then the truck comes and picks it up.

and thats it. we dont ever get to see the customers reaction... so because when i do stuff for peoples cars. i get to see thier reaction i almost feel bad charging them lol

Anytime mate.

Still louder? How does the Mrs feel about the sound & volume?

How did it sound when warm (it is a bit loud when cold - as is the Nismo exhaust for that matter)

Its almost silent at idle and cruise but as I get on the gas it becomes much louder, old system was the other way around.

I had to lower the boost back to stock for now as its running leaner again. I have booked some dyno time for Thursday.

Mrs likes it. :P

    • Yea - I mean I've seen my fuel pump which is decades old and uh, while I'm not saying this with real knowledge... but I sure get the ick at using anything in the fuel system that produced the state of that pump. Many years ago I went through multiple pumps (and strainers) before I dropped the tank to clean it out with extreme violence. I'm talking the car would do maybe 50km before coming to a halt, which resulted in me cleaning out the filter with some brake cleaner and going on my way. None of my stuff ever looked like what came out of your fuel tank. I don't think I'd be happy with it unless every single component was replaced (or at least checked/cleaned/confirmed to be clean here).
    • I'm not going to recommend an EBC pad. I don't like them. Just about anything else would suit me better. I've been using Intima pads for a while now.
    • Agreed, and in particular the earth strap that should go from the subframe to the chassis but it often broken or left off. There is a section in the R32 workshop manual you can follow for troubleshooting if you don't see anything suspicious, and depending where you are (there is no location on your user profile) you should be able to get your hands on a second hand replacement unit still if needed
    • Yeah they mention as a R34 for 2.5 Turbo...but then again thos "small" were also for R34 by that different site. But i look into it and that 310mm EBC is for R34 GTT. And by those you linked the specs are the same 🙂    EDIT: I found these on one site here: DBA 4000 series T3 DBA42304S They are 310mm...and it says are for R34GTT...are there good? EDIT2: ok they have pads too.  What "color" should i get for street use? I dont want/need some noisy ones...(and if they are not that dusty that is good too)
    • Yeah, shame. Maybe  driver's carpet is available 🙏. I am waiting for both amayama and nangun to confirm.
