Brainstorm:- I've emailed Roy and Adrian of EMG aka Express Publications about...

* organising a High Performance Magazine feature on ADM R32 GT-Rs

* holding a photoshoot of a decent collection of these "godzillas" at Mt Panorama, Bathurst

Having organised a few mag features before over 6 or 8 pages, we'd require...

* really great examples to be photographed

* someone on here who is willing to be interviewed about his vast knowledge of the ADM R32 GT-R as they exist right now. The Editor will probably fill in the history of the car as usual.

Let's hope we get a positive reply!

Hi Terry,

I'd love to see this get up off the ground. I'd get an unregistered permit for the day and take the ADM....... Hasn't really been out since the 25th Anniversary Day.

I'd be happy to be interviewed and provide all the history.

The xpose could and should cover the difference between ADM's and JDM's and then throw in my other car, V-Spec 2 and then Terry's V-Spec 2 N1.

If we could get a NISMO it would almost be a Royal Flush.

I have no doubt that if an event like this gets the coverage from a publication and participants, it would truly be very successful.

Keep me in the loop Terry, happy to help if need be.

Bob.

Thanks Bob. If approved we'll do a count of ADMs and rare R32 GTRs that can come along including interstate.

I like your idea of a comparative examination.

Your offer to be an official interviewee has been noted with pleasure.

Surely with the 25 year anniversary next year this would be something that would have to get off the ground.

I'll bring the mine along to Bathurst, just say when! Not the prettiest, and she isn't going backwards at the moment, got all her stone chips earned over the years, but still a phenomenal car.

Anyone with contacts at Nissan should get them on board as well - bring along some R35's as a marketing stunt, we could all give our opinions on how the two cars differ driving at speed around the Mountain! Just an idea. :woot:

Congratulations.......... Welcome to the ADM club.

How did you get to buy your car?

I presume it wasn't advertised as we keep a pretty close eye on what's out there are I don't recall a black car with the listed mileage being for sale.

Cheers,

Bob.

It may be worth sending the guy who's currently selling the very low km 32 nismo edition in for sale section a message incase he still has it at the time if this goes ahead or can at least get the new owner onboard? Would be good to see this happen. Any way of tracking down one of the actual Bathurst raced cars from that era and maybe even a driver of one of them? Or are both the cars and drivers now museum pieces? Lol. Surely one of the people involved with them in the super car championship would be keen to take part given the success and controversy?

Morning lads.

Break ups can be hard and this one will really hurt but I have to let her go to fund a property buy. In the next couple of weeks I will be putting my ADM up on carsales, carpoint etc etc.

Just thought I'd let anyone on here have first crack at it.

I am the 3rd owner and have put 8000kms on it in 6 years. The car has just clocked over 103xxxkm. Engine unopened, good comp in all 6. Standard apart from a hand made exhaust system that doesn't look too gnarly but sounds great. Have all the books, original leather sales folder and all the associated paraphernalia. Can had a new clutch put in 2000km ago, factory item. Belts and pumps done. Plastics just redone, airco retrofit done.

Overall in very good condition. I will email hi res images to any interested parties.

Car is in SE QLD. Offers circa $45k.

PM for more details.

    • I refreshed the OEM injectors with the kit and connected it up. It now ideals okay even with the IACV removed. Driving still has the same cutoff issue like the 550cc injectors so the issue is somewhere else. I bought FPG's Fuel Pump Hanger. I will be installing it next, but it is not as straightforward as I thought it was with my limited wiring knowledge and no instruction on the specific model I purchased (FPG-089). I also got the incorrect billet clamp as I could not find info on the OEM sizing.
    • Stop looking at the garage floor, and turn the radio up a bit louder if there's any strange noises...
    • No. Turbo shuffle and surge/flutter are not the same thing. Specifically, on a GTR, turbo shuffle has a definite meaning. On a GTR, the twin turbos are assumed to be the same thing and to operate the same way, exactly. In reality, they do not. Their exhaust sides are fed and exhaust a little differently, to each other. Their inlet sides are fed and exhausted a little differently, to each other. Consequently, when they are "working" they are often at slightly different points on the compressor map compared to each other. What this means, particularly when coming on boost, is that one of them will spool up and start producing extra flow compared to the other, which will put back pressure on that other compressor, which will push the operating point on that other compressor up (vertically). This will generally result in it bumping up against the surge line on the map, but even if it doesn't, it upsets the compressor and you get this surging shuffle back and forth between them That is "turbo shuffle" on a GTR. It is related to other flutter effects heard on other turbo systems, but it is a particular feature of the somewhat crappy outlet piping arrangement on RB26s. There are plenty of mods that have been attempted with varying levels of success. People have ground out and/or welded more material into the twin turbo pipe to try to prevent it. Extending the divider inside it works, removing material doesn't. There are aftermarket replacement twin turbo pipes available, and these exist pretty mush purely because of this shuffle problem.
    • You can temporarily* use lock collars to keep it in place until you can do the bushes, back the nuts off, slide them in, snug back up. *temporarily is often for ever
    • Thanks for the quick reply. To be clear, when you say turbo shuffle do you mean turbo flutter "stustustu" or referring to something else? I had thought they were the same thing. When I wrote the post my intention was to say it wasn't a flutter/compression surge sound. My understanding was that a flutter sound would be occurring when throttle is released, whereas I can keep the throttle in the same position for this noise
