here's one of many sources, a 1991 interview with Senna:

http://www.grandprix.com/ft/ft00090.html

it was partly a 'square up' for the previous year and partly a petulant sook at having to start from the dirty side of the track. either way its a premeditated decision to take another driver out if they get in front. What a champion.

So that's how he secured one championship, another he won with less points than Prost because they only counted the best 11 (from 16) results back then! WTF? And the 3rd all his rivals had at least 5 retirements and he only suffered 1.

This guys alright...

Good to see I am not alone with regards to ill feelings towards Senna. No doubted a talented guy, but there were plenty of times when others had his measure, including his team mate. Harry touched on it...there were occassions when Senna only beat Prost because Senna put him to the sword and Prost preferred not to crash with his teammate for the sake of the team and results. If Prost was as single minded the two would have wiped corners off each others cars far more often.

I only really remember watching GPs from 1988, with clear memory from about 92 onwards...didnt know enough about what I was watching to actually rate Senna, but I never liked him at the time.

Ironic thing is Ralf's quite a successful DTM racer. Shows the gulf in the comparative skill level required for competitiveness in F1 and a prod-car derived racing category, I guess.

Perhaps the Toyota was never a world beater but given the alleged money thrown at F1 it seems like they needed to hire a serious top tier driver or someone on the way up like Kubica to wring the neck of it.

This elitist is flying Tiger Airways to Qld in a week or two on a $30 special so I would say I either like taking risks or I am a cheapskate....I sure hope they serve a precocious chardonnay onboard with the canapes.

hahaha nice knowing you on that tiger!!

"Q: Rooftop swimming pool, bowling alley, revolving sushi bar - just some of the features most F1 motorhomes don’t possess. If you could add one thing to your team’s motorhome, what would it be?

SV: A good gym with a sauna. My Finnish trainer would be very happy then. And you wouldn’t struggle to find all the other Finnish guys in the paddock. Just go to where the sauna is!"

so vettel wants to find finnish boys eh? at least it's now clear where his sexual preferences lie. not that there was ever much doubt....

Less than 2hrs until P1, who will end up on top?

Looks like it will be wet and cold.

Edit - Lol at Seb V wanting the penis.

Glad I'm not the only one looking forward to it. Not sure why though, some numbers showing up on my phone which will not necessarily have anything to do with qualifying or race pace.

Ferrari updates could be interesting though :D

Sutil seems keen for a wet one....

Q: It is always said you are a wet weather specialist. Are you enjoying the weather forecast for his race?

AS: Yeah, yeah, it looks very rainy, so I enjoy it absolutely. We have not had a rain race or race session this year. Different story with the Pirelli tyres, we have not so much data in the rain conditions with these tyres, so it is going to be a challenge. But in general I like the conditions and I think we are going to be good.

I saw an interesting thing today. ferrari's F1 budget is still near $400mil. old redbull is 4th highest with only 204mil behind Ferrari, Mclaren and Mercedes. they are sure getting value for money these days.

    • For once a good news  It needed to be adjusted by that one nut and it is ok  At least something was easy But thank you very much for help. But a small issue is now(gearbox) that when the car is stationary you can hear "clinking" from gearbox so some of the bearing is 100% not that happy... It goes away once you push clutch so it is 100% gearbox. Just if you know...what that bearing could be? It sounding like "spun bearing" but it is louder.
    • Yeah, that's fine**. But the numbers you came up with are just wrong. Try it for yourself. Put in any voltage from the possible range and see what result you get. You get nonsense. ** When I say "fine", I mean, it's still shit. The very simple linear formula (slope & intercept) is shit for a sensor with a non-linear response. This is the curve, from your data above. Look at the CURVE! It's only really linear between about 30 and 90 °C. And if you used only that range to define a curve, it would be great. But you would go more and more wrong as you went to higher temps. And that is why the slope & intercept found when you use 50 and 150 as the end points is so bad halfway between those points. The real curve is a long way below the linear curve which just zips straight between the end points, like this one. You could probably use the same slope and a lower intercept, to move that straight line down, and spread the error out. But you would 5-10°C off in a lot of places. You'd need to say what temperature range you really wanted to be most right - say, 100 to 130, and plop the line closest to teh real curve in that region, which would make it quite wrong down at the lower temperatures. Let me just say that HPTuners are not being realistic in only allowing for a simple linear curve.
    • I feel I should re-iterate. The above picture is the only option available in the software and the blurb from HP Tuners I quoted earlier is the only way to add data to it and that's the description they offer as to how to figure it out. The only fields available is the blank box after (Input/ ) and the box right before = Output. Those are the only numbers that can be entered.
    • No, your formula is arse backwards. Mine is totally different to yours, and is the one I said was bang on at 50 and 150. I'll put your data into Excel (actually it already is, chart it and fit a linear fit to it, aiming to make it evenly wrong across the whole span. But not now. Other things to do first.
    • God damnit. The only option I actually have in the software is the one that is screenshotted. I am glad that I at least got it right... for those two points. Would it actually change anything if I chose/used 80C and 120C as the two points instead? My brain wants to imagine the formula put into HPtuners would be the same equation, otherwise none of this makes sense to me, unless: 1) The formula you put into VCM Scanner/HPTuners is always linear 2) The two points/input pairs are only arbitrary to choose (as the documentation implies) IF the actual scaling of the sensor is linear. then 3) If the scaling is not linear, the two points you choose matter a great deal, because the formula will draw a line between those two points only.
