Mick_o
Hahaha thanks Roy that was probably a shorter and sweeter way of getting to the point of my little rant below Too many MYs lol sorry But bringing people back to reality for a second! Its a 335rwkws std RB25 with a bolt on turbo! That is mega. Perhaps a gate, manifold or other combination may be a tad punchier, but show me a single bolt on turbo that will match this setup???? I haven't seen any? Would be pretty mint, stock looking setup if his pipes weren't so sex when you open the bonnet. GTScotT
LOL Mate, I think I commented on how rapid your car is a few pages back. The way the graph is scaled and the dyno is calibrated is directly related to what the results will be on paper. I can definitely say that this car has a lot of low down torque and pull. When Mick dropped me at the station, he slowed to 2krpm in 4th gear and pulled away again as if it was in 2nd gear... It was nonsense. Then in his street, foot down/brake/foot down INSTANTLY back on full song. Dunno how much better it could be. But it would be interesting to see, I think thats fair to say. But you lot need to stop babooning on about the graph, the cars an animal. SimonR32
Wow hasnt this got some bad press now?! It went from wow nice results mate to meh thats not that crash hot HAHA! I dont understand any of the dyno jargon you blokes are carrying on about lol! Its just a sheet showing how much power it made FFS! To me it doesnt give a true representaion of how my car drives in the REAL world my car is far from dead under 4000rpm even if thats what a line on a piece of paper says to you in fact the car takes off like a dog shot in the ass 3800rpm in 2nd gear all the way to redline 3rd gear is on instantly if you stay hard on it in 2nd gear off boost its torquey as hell and feels as pokey as any big Falcodore 6 cylinder which is very impressive for a 2.5L imo... Yeah probably doesnt come on as early as alot of turbos or the GT3071 that it replaced for that matter. I dunno if my eyes deceive me or im not reading the dynosheet right but is 25psi @ 4000rpm on a factory manifold with an internal gate laggy? My car is far from an exotic or by a big $$$ setup its a basic bolt on package on E85 nothing special really i woulda thought Now dont get me wrong this is not me getting defensive to the constructive critisism from you guys as im stoked with how well my car goes and how well it drives on and off boost is a credit to the boys at Unigroup engineering and 450hp isnt too shabby at all i reckon I just feel some guys get caught up in the dynosheet too much as opposed to how it feels to drive on the road which is where it really counts......... Thats my 2c anyways haha Jez is gunna be taking my car for a run this weekend so ill put the hard word on him to do a little write up and give you guys his opinion on how my car drives lol im sure as shit hes driven as many different turbo combinations on a 25 as anyone in here I don't think anyone is giving it bad press?!? Personally I think it's an awesome results, as roy said it's probably one of the best low mount results I've ever seen on a stock RB25! I was just hoping for a result that would take the next step in performance into the future and make us all sell our GT3076R and T67's to buy one... But in reality its similar to both, which is a great thing, just not game changing Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/375232-garrett-gtx3071r/page/32/#findComment-6239709 Share on other sites

wolverine
My car has a HKS cast manifold and I am using an ATP 0.82 twin scroll housing with a single HKS gate. The gate spring is a pissy 7psi thing. My impression from driving the two cars is that the GT3076 seems stronger down low and this is consistent with the dyno sheet. The TS housing/manifold might be part of the reason for this. I tend to agree with Lith that the GTX range isn't really a step ahead but something more like 71mm GTX = 76mm GT as described. I wouldn't be overly confident of a great result buying a GTX3076 since the turbine is probably the limitation anyway. We need more results for the GTX range but make no mistake Mick's car is a pleasure to drive just like Scott said. It felt stronger all around on E85 vs 98 ron (I haven't driven it with the final E85 tune....yet). It is lacking nothing at all on the road and pulls away cleanly in almost any gear which is a credit to the overall tune from Unigroup and with the wonders of pineapple juice it is making very stout power in a street setup. Roy
And people insist the std manifold is a good thing and doesnt hold back performance No sin to be running the std manifold as it makes so much sense in many ways...but it does limit the performance you are going to get. I hope my new turbo with a billet wheel doesnt trend the same way the GTX turbos are going with regards to response. They do flow better at higher pressure ratios...but, but yeh...at what cost to response. Still a good result for 90 ULP too! Lithium
The HTAs are pretty much the opposite, usually they seem to spool/respond slightly quicker than the equivalent non-"billet" wheel but still flow more... I'd say it could give pretty good results. Link to comment https://www.sau.com.au/forums/topic/375232-garrett-gtx3071r/page/32/#findComment-6240440 Share on other sites

The second last time Steveo was there in his 400 kw GTR (although RWD on india's best tyres), he was the slowest out of everyone.... Even the ants crawling up the hill were smashing him BUT, I can assure you he had to most fun out of everyone.
