Seb the stickers looks awesome down the side of the car, very well designed indeed.

Little too much going on at the rear of the car though?

Glad to hear its all coming along now after the wait time you had to endure with the motor etc.

Sam, agreed. From what I've seen on YouTube and US boards the Lambos are geared for 100-200 MPH runs etc whereas R3s are pretty much good at everything you could conceivably want from a street car: drag, circuit, street. Personally I am not interested in the flying mile type of events.

Also one point to remember the Lambo's in the vids are all carrying a H pattern boxes and shifted manually vs a DSG :)

But i do agree with the rest. It's not until ~150mph the Lambos catching up. And not just catching either, they are utterly honking past on most occasions which is no small point really, to do that at such speeds is quite impressive in itself.

Would be interesting if they both had DSG boxes i think :thumbsup:

do you know how much she weighs at the moment?

Haven't weighed it lately but it's not that different to stock. What we saved with the carbon panels etc we made up for with the cage.

Who put all the sticker work on the car?, nice work on the car, very envious, very stout setup!

The graphics were designed by Nick Moss Design. Nick also does some of the V8 Supercar team graphics and is a great guy to deal with. I used D&S tint at Lonsdale in SA to do the vinyl work and get the design onto the car. These guys are a small family owned shop who do excellent work and really know their stuff. I only had a two day window (at short notice) to get the whole car done and they came through. Really impressed with their work and can highly recommend them.

Thanks mate, looking forward to getting back into some track work. Planning on heading over to Vic and also the eastern states a bit in the next 12 months. Should be a good opportunity to give it a run. Have the first outing at the Mount Alma Mile Hillclimb this weekend. Will keep you posted re how the engine performs.

Its a car lads. A pain in the butt to sort it all out, but a new opportunity to do something really special with a 35 as well :)

You go motor racing - expect this can happen - and factor it in. It does to everyone eventually.

Remember - no matter how fast or slow you are, safety gear can make all the difference. Personally I wont be doing that hill again without a full cage, suit, and full face helmet. Thankfully all of the safety gear in the R35 worked perfectly during the accident and allowed the driver to get out of the car before it went up. If the same had happened to my uncaged Subaru (we both cross the line at about the same speed), I wouldnt be here to write this to you. Keep it in mind, and take it seriously.

The unfortunate part is constantly having to answer questions about it. The facts are -

When you race cars sometimes they crash, and if they are going hard its a big crash. Then sometimes they catch fire and burn well if there are no marshalls around. This car did both of the above........so.........

we bought a new one.

While its a fairly major kind of incident it has definitely upset those that have never sat in/never driven/may never own an R35 on the Internet much more than it has upset us. Strange world we live in, but thats the facebook generation living their lives 10 keystrokes at a time all looking for their free moment of glory on the web.

    • Welcome to Skyline ownership. Yes, it is entirely possible parts websites get things wrong. There's a whole world of inaccuracies out there when it comes to R34 stuff (and probably 33 and 32). Lots of things that are 'just bolt on, entirely interchangable' aren't. Even between S1 and S2 R34's. Yes they have a GTT item supposedly being 296mm. This is incorrect. I would call whoever you got them from and return them and let them know the GTT actually uses 310mm rotors. Depending on where you got them from your experience and success will obviously vary.
    • Hi...a bit a "development" on the brakes. I spoke to the guys where i get brakes from...and they are saying that 296mm EBC are for R34 GT-T. I then went to their site: https://www.ebcbrakes.com/vehicle/uk-row/NISSAN/Skyline (R34)/ and search for my car(R34 GT 1998 - it has GTT brakes) and it show me this USR1229 number and they are rly 296mm rotors... So now iam rly confused... The rotors i have now on the car are 310mm asi shown... So where is the problem? Does the whole EBC got it wrong or my calipers are just...idk know what?

    • This is a recipe for disaster* Note: Disaster is relative. The thing that often gets lost in threads like this is what is considered acceptable poke and compromise between what one person considers 'good' looks and what someone else does. The quoted specs would sit absurdly outside the guards with the spacers mentioned and need  REALLY thin tyres and a LOT of camber AND rolling the guards to fit. Some people love this. Some people consider this a ruined car. One thing is for certain though, rolling the guards is pretty much mandatory for any 'good' fitment (of either variety). It is often the difference between any fitment remotely close to the guards. "Not to mention the rears were like a mm from hitting the coilovers." I have a question though - This spec is VERY close to what I was planning to buy relative to the inboard suspension - I have an offset measuring tool on the way to confirm it. When you say "like a mm" do you mean literally 1mm? Or 2mm? Cause that's enough clearance for me in the rear :p I actually found the more limiting factor ISNT the coilover but the actual suspension arms. Did you take a look at how close those were?
