why would you get bored of a 250 are you really that obsessed with speed?

sure i'd prefer 600+ but it's purely for cosmetics/frame size. most 250s look meh and are small

had a close up look at a megeli 250r they are tiniy :/ and gay wheels

and how long does it take vicroads to mail me my fkn license

Like you, it's not all about speed, but from what I'm hearing the LAMS 250's are like ridiculously slow...Might have to see if my mate will let me ride his to get the feel of it...He's trying to sell it to me but I'm not really looking to buy right now...It's a red/black 09 Ninja 250, if you're interested...

Either way I'd say that's the path I'll take, means spending less initially while still having a decent looking bike, having something to ride and gain experience on, and then move up to something bigger/better looking..

When I passed my test she said if I don't have my card mailed out in 8 weeks to give them a call to chase it up, so I'd say allow 8 weeks...You should have the piece of paper they gave you that acts as a temp license in the meantime anyway....Not that you have a bike to ride lol

hmmm well unless it takes em something like 8+ seconds to get to 100 i wouldn't call em ridiculously slow lol maybe tell your mate you're interested in it just to get a test ride out of it and see what it's like. im not a fan of kawaki...

8 weeks? we were told 4...

yeah that temp license is crap though you cant look cool flauntin a piece of paper

Bought it from the newsagent...Just been filling it in every time I drive with either 'work' or 'personal' and the kms/dates etc...that enough?

These are the basic requirements:

- the date the journey began and ended

- the car's odometer readings at the start and end of the journey

- how many kilometres the car travelled on the journey

- why the journey was made (not just business/private) But a very brief explanation. I.e. business meeting with client

Cbf quoting above, but if I was actually buying a supercar I wouldn't want a 'fancy transmission'. Leave that for the soccer enthusiasts and their golf gti's.

not all gti's run the dsg box, there are some that do run a manual

and even they the dsg isnt really that fancy

Better buy one now then.

Some of them aren't even offering manual as an OPTION moving forward on current or incoming models.

It's GT-R style boxes, or no supercar for you.

It is the way of the future and for them to keep increasing the performance of the vehicles when they are stuck within emissions confines etc. Cut out shift times = win for manufacturers.

Because they are boring and take away some of the feel for driving. Don't care if te car can shift faster than me I don't drag race anyway. No doubting they are amazing technology but it's just not for me.

Dont worry r31 nismoid, don't think I'll be buying a supercar anytime this lifetime haha

i see.

they are boring. oh well, i guess you haven't driven or been in a 35 then?

Not a 35 but drove and passengered my uncles old Ferrari 599 with the paddle shift shit going on, yeah it shifts hard etc. didn't say it didn't. I said it takes some of the feel out of driving. Anyone can drive and shift well with a paddle shift g'box, but perfect shifts in a proper manual car are much harder an more fun to achieve IMO.

So what would you write when you're claiming it based on having to carry tools to and from work on a daily basis?

Must be pretty heavy tools if Dezzman considers it bulky equipment & tools :P

I would just write carrying of 'equipment & bulking tools'.

Also note you can only claim this if there is nowhere on site that you can safely store it.

Everyone has a key to the lock boxes so it's not considered 'secure lockup' which is why we can claim it from what everyone has told me

    • Stock ECU (or more accurately stock tune) absolutely refuses to go over 10psi and behaves like you have seen. The Nistune is the same if it is the stock tune. If the Nistune chip has been tuned, the resulting tune could be literally anything for any combination of parts. The Nistune just makes the stock ECU Tunable.
    • So stock ECU does not like anything above 10 psi?  That Nistune one is just for "try" if it will be any different, I know it need to be tune for that. I know but YOU may know about these problem but i/we dont. They few little Skylines here let alone people who know anything about tham so that is why iam asking here
    • So now we have a radiator with no attachments whatsoever. It lifts up with a particularly tight spot between the drivers side air box mount and the lower radiator outlet, but if you've got this far you will sort that too. This is the lower mounts with the rad out so you can see where the rubber bushes go, it is a straight shot upwards Done! Assembly is the reverse of disassembly, with blood less likely to be shed.
    • Right, onto the second last trick. The Air Con condenser is mounted to the front of the radiator and stays in the car when the radiator is removed. There are 2x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the condenser to the radiator, remove those The bottom of the condenser is attached to the radiator with clips. You need to lift the condenser out of those clips and clear (up, then forward). f**ked if  could work out how to do that last bit with the front bumper on. I hope you can, and you share the trick.  Bumper removal probably deserves its own thread one day once I've recovered the will to live, but basically you need to remove the wheels, front inner guard liners (clips and 10mm headed bolts), the self tapper between the guard and the bumper at the rearmost point of the bumper (same as an R32 that bit), any remaining clips at the top/front of the grill, an absolute bastard design with a plate that holds the top of the bumper above the headlight each side (only 1 bolt which is tricky to get to, but the plate catches 2 places on the bumper and must be removed....carefully!) and push clips between the bumper and guard under the headlight. If you've done all that you will be faced with wiring for the fog lights on both sides and in ADM Q50 RS at least, 4 nasty tight plugs on the driver's side for the ADAS stuff. So, the clips at the bottom look like this on drivers side (looking from the front) And on the passenger side (also from the front), you can see this one is already out Clearance on both of these are super tight; the condenser needs to move up but the upper rad support mount prevents that, and the radiator can't move down far because it is (rubber) mounted. Once you achieve the impossible and drop the condenser off those mounts so it does not stop the rad moving, you are good to go
    • OK, next the shroud needs to come off and there are a couple of tricks. Firstly, there is a loom from near the passenger side headlight to the fans, coolant temp sensor etc and there is no plug to undo.  In my case I was OK to leave the shroud on top of the engine so I just undid the passenger side fan plug and about 10 of the clips which gave enough free wire to put it aside. The fan plugs were super tight, the trick I used was a small falt screwdriver to push down on the release tab, then a larger flat screwdriver to lever the plug out of the fan unit....be careful with how much force you apply! If you need to remove the shroud altogether for some reason you will have to deal with all the plugs (tight) and clips (brittle)....good luck. I removed all of the clips and replaced them with cable ties that I will just cut next time. Also, in the Red Sport / 400R at least, the intake heat exchanger reservoir hose is bolted to the shroud in 2 places with 10mm headed bolts; so remove them (the hose stays in the car; no need to undo it at the t fittings down at the radiator lower mount. Once you've dealt with the HX hose and the wiring loom, there are 3x 10mm headed self tappers holding the top of the shroud to the radiator; remove those.   The shroud then lifts out of the bottom mounts where it sits on the radiator, up and onto the engine out of the way.
