Thanks man, do you know which photo it was on specifically? or the Dealers name?

Here is the comment i saw this morning

'Michael Coleman ‎@ Kyle Icely It definitely has not sold out. Media is misinformed. There is still a few available. [email protected]

It's the most recent picture detailing the pricing with the red 86 picture

Yeah found it, thanks mang

In other news, got 26 days to buy all the shit I need for work (tools etc) so I can claim em in this years return lol

Lol Dezzmang with his billion receipts gonna cause me my first ATO in over 800 clients.

(not srs)

(semi-srs)

really diggin this type of canopy, looks pricey though

I found those pointless for a canopy though, you lose about half the space of a box canopy for a little bit of fuel economy, which would be sfa anyway. Even more pointless if your running muddies on the car too

looks good rimon, arb good quality just claim it on tax? (can you?)

Sure if its used for work. It will be claimed over its effective life rather than outright.

win

Saw a Navara at work with a similar setup, looked good

only ever seen it once on a white hilux outside ARB on mahoneys rd. stands out

more so for the styling than practicality. less space than box canopy but more space than just hard cover so good compromise imo

only downside is the glass top. hail storm = byebye canopy

This Navara looked alright...Had like a Hummer style grill too, didn't know what car it was at first lol

It had a Derrimut gym sticker on the back, so it's from around my area I'm guessing...If I see it at work again or at gym I'll get a photo

yeah see in that case it's making me prefer the box canopies even more because they are fiberglass too

at a guess I would say those glass ones are heaps more expensive too, just doesn't seem worth it

get price too kthx

i'm seeing a rediculous amount of mini "moster truck" spec'ed pick ups on the road these days. must be the new thing. only a matter of time before they start putting flutterz in em lol

i'll see if they make em with a hard top instead of the glass. box canopy just makes it look like a landcruiser :/

I think it's he kind of car you'd use as a daily and on the weekends through the twisties - all the journalists who have driven it seem to rave about the handling and how the power is sufficient, so maybe it's not that bad to drive. I've driven slow cars before with tough little engines and they are very fun despite being slow. It'd be no traffic light hero, but the thing will keep pace in the corners. Still, crossing fingers they put that turbo FA20 from the Legacy GT into it...

    • Thanks for doing that Duncan! Makes you a good person in my books. We don't get kangaroos or wombats here. But we have bats and it's similar. AFAIK it's often the mums with a baby attached that get hit because they drop lower when starting from a tree. If you hit an animal, check on it. https://www.ifaw.org/au/resources/wildlife-rescue-app An app to get the closest wildlife rescue contact.
    • My dream is also to have a proper hoist, but I don't think it will ever happen. My quickjack is probably as close as I'll ever get, it really is very good though.
    • Yeah we keep on in the dailies, it is pretty poor how many animals get hit and the driver leaves without checking....have saved a couple of little ones over the years. Bit of a gruesome job though, pouches generally need to be cut open because they are so tight and often the joey doesn't realise mum is gone so they are still locked onto the teat. I checked the modules in front of the DS wheel where an oil cooler should go.... There is the radar unit - that can go for race use) One of the 2 HX water pumps, the silver cylinder. That needs to be kept but might be able to be relocated But the bad news, the big computer mounted vertically in front of the wheel (blocking any potential air exit) is the electric steering computer. That is required until/unless i do a hydraulic steering conversion, and in CAD based modern car design it is not like I can just pop a big unit like that somewhere else (plus the loom would be too short anywhere else too). So, the passenger side is OK to clear out (just use a smaller washer reservoir, potentially elsewhere), but the DS no beuno
    • Well, all the best with the new camry It was interesting to hear about the UK process, it is generally a lot more streamlined here with a shipping agent looking after all the import side (noting the exact final price can still be a surprise.....) and I've used a few different brokers on the japan (or US) side, and never had any trouble with any of them....luck of the draw I guess. You mentioned you didn't get the auction sheet (understandable since you bought it from a dealer, not auction), but I always try and get hold of that because they are pretty thorough. I've imported 2x R grade vehicles over the years and both were fine, repairs in Japan are pretty thorough compared to here in Oz.
    • BTW I measured the jack I have, it is 70mm at the saddle but you only have about 700 until it returns to 150mm high at the cylinder so it is good but no magic bullet.
