Telstra farking wins. And s3 is a great phone. But is till love my blackberry. Hahaha

I was driving from work to springvale. Basically the monash from the tunnel to blackburn road. the whole time from burnley to blackburn. I had my left knee steering the wheel. Noodle box in one hand and chopsticks in the other. Finished it just before exiting fwy. Like a bawse.

Wow so many people are on bc br's. How much did you guise pay for them? And how do they go?

Oh btw. I has 4 discs nao :D. And red calipers. LOL. Red calipers wasn't my choice. Now to find time to put them in.

By the way. What's the deal with ball joints? Am I able to take the ones in my hubs atm and chuck it in the new hubs? Or will I have to go out and buy new ball joints? :/

im curious if i was driving down the rd and someone jumped out at me and i swerved to avoid killing them and rid off my car would he/she be liable or id just have to cop it for being sane?

Youd get the barriers in your ass and you'd enjoy it coz your a top bloke.

Bulgagi flamin mongrel.

Red calipers +10kWasps brah ;)

My bc br's treating me pretty good thus far I think - I still need to figure out my ideal dampening settings (currently may be a bit too bouncy + some pesky speedbumps at uni cause rear to scrape unless I crawl over) and need to get it aligned again, but besides that I can't really complain about anything, so far so good?

That could be your spring rate adjustment

That could be your spring rate adjustment

to fix adjust preload or something? didn't want to mess with preload and stuff too much, looked okay as is when i put them in. but will have a looksee if messing with dampening settings isn't good enough, cheers brah :)

Yeh your need to adjust the spring rate, having loose springs will cause it to bounce around. Dampening is more so the ridgidity of the shock

Looks like your ready to do some track work brah

Bulgagi flamin mongrel.

coming from the guy that likes his bulggagi touched by his asian lover boy and kidnaps little white girls

just pay for a higher excess and get quote online will prob be like 1000

Excess adjustment makes SFA difference to be honest, not worth raising the excess for.

Awaiting a email from Lumleys, which is underwritten by Wesfarmers which is joint company to Coles Myer apparently I can get staff discount, just need to invensgate further.

Let me know how you find the s3 I really want one but can't afford atm

ERs have the external oil res yeah? is that what's hitting? weird I never had any issues with my BC BRs with 18x10 +15s and 265s on my GTR

yeah external res ones man

though the clearance with the resivour is like 5mm now so happy with that

I would say you should be able to, they should only be bolted or clamped to the strut

Seems to be strange if they were welded etc

they have only a tiny space of movement - i thought it would be possible to atleast turn the res around like 90 degrees or something just to make sure its out of the way.. but doesnt seem so :(

Locked away?! That makes me sad :P

On another note, since when GTR's are at least $2k a year to insure? What a complete joke.

lol it will be out much more now!

yeah i pay like 1.8K (1.6K if i pay all at once but i pay monthly) full comp with just car, never had a claim and im 27 so dont have the higher price people under 25 do.. prices are f**ked..

Good to know this thing will be out and about more often now!

Agreed on insurance prices being proper f**ked up, it was cheaper to insure a 33 GTR when I was 22 year old idiot, I'm 25 now and surely the premiums would be lower no?

Worst case, start looking at other cars that doesn't attract higher premium (domestic market or sedan) *shudder*

Lol my premium went from 1370 to 1970 with no claims at all. And also turned 25 in that time. Since its never driven adjusted the excess and I'm back to 1300

what!? really who with? never heard of it going up with any claims..did you modify your policy? add mods?

    • Yeah it is always worth testing and balancing actuators out of the box, just set the pressure regulator on a compressor very low (eg 5 psi) and increase it slowly to see when they both move.....unfortunately while you may be able to adjust the length of the actuator rod to minimise any difference, the actual pressure they move from is not adjustable so you need a well matched pair. And yes, the VCAM is probably contributing; the earlier in the rev range they come on boost and the slower the revs build (I think your demo was in 5th), the more you notice it.  Driving at WOT through 1st, 2nd, 3rd etc you will probably never hear it as any shuffling starts and is over super quickly
    • oh they were with that motor, you need to remove the engine to change the spark plugs (don't have to, but it does make it easier)
    • I certainly fall into the annoyed camp, but glad to hear that if it's happening at low boost then I'm not likely going to blow a turbo and end up with metal shards in my oil. Just feels like it prevents me from really driving it without hesitation and "peak" performance. Wonder if it's the VCAM, it did an impressive job of shifting the torque curve and faster spool, but maybe now it's "too fast" and there's too much air for how open the throttle is.  Based on some other threads, will also do some reading on synchronizing the actuators. They are the default actuators that come on the Garrett's and I would think they would be set the same coming from the factory, but if the turbos don't actually work exactly the same way at the same time as previously mentioned, it would be worth making sure the actuators are actuating together properly
    • I went down this rabbit hole before, ended up sourcing a motor from the UK (I'm in Japan) which also didn't function correctly. With the original motor, I disassembled it and reassembled it and it works somewhat, sometimes. What I could deduce from all my screwing around is that there is calibration of the gears on the inside of the motor and two ramps on the main gear which activate switches that operate the motor and move the sunroof either to retract into the roof or tilt. Where I got stuck was that, it seemed in my case that one or both of the switches that are activated by the ramp on the gear did not always activate and thus the motor did not move, causing it to sometimes not retract or tilt (apologies, I've forgotten which way it didn't work.).  Of course this part is discontinued at Nissan now, it's the same part in the S15 but no other models. I also contacted the manufacturer of the component for schematics - forgot the name, they're based in Gifu - but they declined to share the information due to being bound by an NDA, sadly. Looking through my pictures now, it seems I last had a crack at this in 2022. See, I so kindly wrote "open" and "close" next to the switches. If you figure it out, please do tell me. Those little switches, with the red buttons may need to be replaced.
