I was in a meeting yesterday with civil engineers talking about how to dispose of oil an PCB contaminated soil. if te tests come up ok, they can mix it with 2% concrete and bury it :/

on a side note, I got a message from a pulsar guy that he is currently importing a GTiR long motor from Japan that has been built with tomei parts and strokes to 2.2, and would sell it to me if I want it...

i remember doing an environmental module, about bio remediation on oil and pcb contaminated soils, not sure about the mechanics of the whole process as you know how uni modules are, they just scratch the surface and give you a degree at the end of it all, knowing not much more than before enrolment.

that's what I liked about TAFE, rather than spending countless hours over the time of the course learning about how formulas transcribes to what we want to do with it, they just gave us the formula and said now apply to these scenarios... dodged a lot of calculus. we all walked away saying I can do that, but I can't tell you why it works

Lotus Exige S - V6 Supercharged ; 258kw @ 1100kg ; 0-100 in 3.8s

$140,000 - worth the money? /discuss

so assuming 220rwkw @ 1100kg = approx 200rwkw/tonne

my view is that the 200rwkw / tonne is the power to weight milestone a car needs to reach to be in the serious fun zone....

equivalent in other cars people will be able to relate to:

ke70 - 160rwkw

mx5 - 200rwkw

s chassis - 250rwkw

gtst - 270rwkw

evo - 280awkw

gtr - 300rwkw

recent v8 falcodore - 360rwkw

I'd say yes, it will be extreme fun and decent value compared to itallian offerings, but nothing i'd look into.

considering what you could have for a track day for $140k its bad value.

and no i wouldn't even dream of using one for a daily/track car

in b4 leigh dickbags on about v8 torque and how this somehow makes up for the car weighing more than the third moon of jupiter

(every one of those cars has a unique feature that puts them ahead of the others in some way, which is why i chose them)

oh haha, thought there was more to it. Like Leigh being denied warranty for breaking something.

Ford built tuff! (hopefully don't break anything next week at the drags)

long live teh GT

don't speak too soon.. the GS came from factory with a dicky water pump that will probably need replacing

i'm not even planning to go for graduation.

from all accounts, its just a pointless waste of time sweltering in a hot and humid hall.

I didn't originally plan on going, but knew I would regret it later. and keeps family happy

Fkn aye!

Found out I don't need a VIV certificate to register my car as there is a 15 year exemption for it

Dat benefit of owning an old car lol

17 years here brah

2pac was still alive when my car was new shiiiit

Alvin, any luck with grad positions?
Got nothing from my end.....

This is why I like to ask people how and why it works, just for the lolz. hahaha

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
