It's up to the discretion of the officer. I didn't get a fine when I got defected they just said go clear it.

Yeah I know, I've been defected a few times and always get let go of the fine

But if you do get fined, just curious how much it is. Because $500 is alot of mulla

It was a Daytime meet at Carribean Gardens, Police were informed of the event beforehand so they were aware and ok'd it and promised no "move along" orders.

The meet was organised by the group HWY and it was a JDM / Euro Show n Shine Meet... in Knox... after informing pettets station of the location of a bunch of modified jdm cars. *sigh*

A girl on my FB has a sil80 (I think) and got done for $500 fine + RWC Required for Too Low and a Cracked Windscreen... I thought you needed 3 things for a rwc?

Though you lose your licence, a drink driving offence of between 0.05 & 0.07 is a $367 :/

And going through a red light is $361

Good to see the government see a loud exhaust as more dangerous

Nah if its a structural component(suspension) they can issue a major. And whatever fine they see fit..

And it also goes back to the thread about the dumbass doing 180kph with a full car in the wet.

All these people know full well that their cars are not road worthy, yet they choose to congregate in a large group, IN KNOX, and then cry when they get done.

Genius'

There's a reason I stay away from these sorts of meets nowdays ;) I'm too old for that kinda stress...

I still drive my car 300-350km in peak hour every week and I'm never hassled (haven't been pulled over properly in years) because I don't drive like an idiot and draw attention to myself... Hell just the other week I cruised straight through a Defect / Sheriff station that was set up on Boronia Road... while on the way to Import Monster to get my new shockworks fitted... Rolled through with the clutch in like a baws

surely to actually get the fine you have to have been a knob to the cop.

its like the dick head tax.

    • When you pulled it off, there is no signs of blown head gasket? Is it possible you have some other issues going on? Possible cracked blocked? Or do you think it's straight up lifting the head? Did you check what the head was torqued to before pulling it down (To see if possibly they're stretching, or starting to break threads out etc)?
    • Seems like a decent result for a modded JZX110. They are bulky in comparison to the 100 and 90 models (which I'd prefer myself) but they are getting very few and far between here in JP these days. Thanks for the detailed review and the import process into the UK. I also have a car which I'm hoping to export from Japan at some stage so it's good to know if someone from the UK was interested in it. By the way the corrosion underneath is par for the course for cars which were located in/near the mountains or along the Japan sea coastline. They get huge amounts of snow every winter and the sodium chloride is used on the roads. Many cars have some kind of rubber like treatment underneath but they tend to limit it to the wheel arches underbody and fuel tank. Suspension arms and sub-frames will have similar corrosion to your JZX110 which is a common sight. See it all the time and car dealers here generally don't even mention it unless asked.
    • If the sound goes away when you clutch in, the 1.5/2 way diffs are just shit, and you are a normal person. The diff is likely "fine" but driving at anything under 30kmh is a violent horrible experience. It would be exaggerated with solid diff bushings and subframe bushings if you have those.
