Finally got my car back today :) Although I don't think the wheel alignment was done properly, steering feels a lot heavier and for some reason the car feels slower :\

maybe you got excited for boost but was let down by stock.

time for some hypergear + scotty hi-flow.

Always took simon for a receiver, not a giver.

This I can confirm!

Have a look down near your Alternator, in front of it (sort of below more so), theres a power steering line which should have a sensor tee'd into it. See if someones undone that plug as it's fairly common cause of the steering being heavy.

Thanks, I'll have a look tomorrow. I had a quick look at my car tonight (through the heavy rain) and I think they've done the alignment completely wrong though, seems the camber (and possibly toe) are out, which explains why it feels slower as well.

Did you get your Alignment printout? Get it fixed if they've screwed it up badly (it's gotta be hellishly out if its actually causing so much drag you can feel it being slower)... and it'd be munching through tyre already

Nope, the panel beaters took it to another shop to get the alignment done so I don't have any documentation. I knew I should have sent them an e-mail with the wheel alignment specs, most shops are horrible at getting the right specifications for imports. I remember on my last car when I needed a wheel alignment and I told them I have the specs for it, they just said "Don't worry, we'll work it out" and I foolishly believed them. Got the car back and it was terribly out of alignment, they are just too lazy to look it up.

I'll be calling up tomorrow to get them to fix it, because it definitely doesn't handle as well before the alignment.

    • Oh, also, forgot to add these photos I believe.
    • Thought i'd update on this. I was able to get in contact with Craig Lieberman and later on Darryl Alison (owner of Kaizo Industries). Darryl was able to help me verify that my car was in fact one of theirs and is helping me find more info on mine !
    • There's restrictor pills in the stock boost control hoses. That's how they set the amount that was bled off and hence the "high" boost setting. The usual mod in the day was to remove it and send the "high" boost setting up to about 14 psi.
    • Thanks Duncan, that's the best info I've read. Furthermore after learning about the PCM programming side controlling the factory boost solenoid, the purpose of the solenoid is to "bleed" boost when pin 25 is earthed, thus allowing spring pressure in the wastegate actuator to overcome diaphragm boost pressure, thus closing or reducing the position of the wastegate flap creating more boost as the turbo is able to spin faster. It's pretty cool to see a designated Pill to do exactly this, would have liked to have seen it with a tiny filter over the end for those moments in vacuum.  The constant bleed pill has now been removed completely from the system and solenoid boost control has been restored once again.   Case closed 😂
    • The wideband reading is meaningless if it's not running. Why are you using shitty old sidefeeds on any engine, let alone a Neo? What manifold and fuel rail are you using to achieve that? Beyond that, can't help you with AEM stuff as I've never been their ECU/CAS combo.
