Well I for one am very impressed. Thats a fantastic power curve.

Its a prick of a job, but i have done it on my hks2530s, turbonetics make an oem size dual port actuator (part is 30326) that fits the hks actuator bracket. Need 1/4 UNF 80mm actuator rods from gcg for it to fit, and a 4 port mac valve but its a good option to keep the gate shut.

Are your gates creeping open at high exhaust manifold pressures or are the turbines just falling over?

I guess at those flow rates your post-turbine exhaust pressure becomes quite significant.

Is the turbonetics actuator any better than the ones hks offer? Edited by Chris32R

I was going to buy those turbonetics gates but I heard they clash and there's no room for them down there.

I've got them on an R34 and they fit fine, tight to get them on there with the turbos mounted and in the car, but possible. haven't had huge boost through them yet as we we having misfire issues. had to use the HKS actuator bracket as it holds the actuator with two bolts, so the turbonetics fits straight in, whereas the garret actuators are welded to their brackets.

I didn't realise HKS did a dual port actuator? do they make one? the only reason I went the turbonetics ones is they were the only dual port stock looking gate on the market (that I could find)

the advantage of dual port is low preload, so the diaphram can respond faster. it uses MAP pressure to press the wastegate closed when the boost control solenoid is active.

so my gate is set to 8psi preload, so you can either go a single port 25psi preload actuator, and it will hold 25psi worth of pressure, or a dual port actuator at 8psi preload will hold it shut with 33psi of pressure. the more preload, the greater the offset.

also means I can run 8psi in Girlfriend/Valet mode, 22psi in Petrol mode and 28psi in E85 mode.

can you fit turbosmart ones down there?

They recently borrowed an entire turbo (GTX2867 for ref) off one of the cars I've been working on to make up a bracket to fit the T28 housing to a turbosmart dual port

#thankstraklife

The same power has been made with 63's in gtx housings at the same boost.

I was talking about in regards to the turbonetics wastegate option for the low mounts they said it wouldn't fit on those housings and fit

ah which compressor cover are you using?.. I am using HKS2530 turbos. it may be that the bolt pattern on the back side of the GTX compressor housings are a larger radius from the centre, so the alignment wouldn't work, as that is where the actuator bracket attaches.

not sure if they are or not. but if people are putting -5 comp covers on a GTX core, then I dont think they would be different unless some machining of backplate to comp cover is required to fit the compressor cover to the core.

they're the all-in-one R34 Coils so no igniter required.

if healthy OEM coils can handle 660awhp@ 28+ psi in the car above, that's good enough for me. I'll just get a new set, but if i need to go beefier I'd be interested to hear what Ryan1200 and His mate have done.

Standard setup besides a set of Splitfire coil packs.

I know this, hence why I said I would grind out stock housings to suit.

It's not exactly easy, you'd be better just getting a set of -9 or stock front covers like I did for my gtx2860s.

I'm not sure the gain will justify it, but I am sure there will be a small gain

How long are you away from a result, Pete?

If anyone needs custom turbo work done the guy who owns the cars I posted results on works for MTQ in Brisbane and will happily make it happen. Ask for Rossco.

He did mine

Still a while, have not yet got engine or update on it, shall send the builder a message tommorow to see about that actually.

Considering Getting a shop to put it in and getting it running to save time and prevent me making cockups

    • Hi GTSBoy, Excuse my ignorance but what does a "Bad" Knee point mean ?
    • HFM BM57 has a "bad" knee point, IIRC. It's not the same thing as the later R chassis MC.
    • The ATTESSA is functionally identical to R34; there were a bunch of JDM models that continued ATTESSA including Fuga/Q70, Skyline/Q50, Cima etc as an option. All with Auto only and I think mostly for snow regions. AFAIK there were no AWD VR30DDTT sold in Australia - it is on my to do list to check regs for racing a LHD car in Targa/ATR/AASA/CAMS events because if I can get the auto to work it would be interesting to run a 4wd car The Ecuteck TCM tuning is the same model as their ECU tuning, they already have it for R35 and Dose's favourite, BMW. You buy "points" to allow your computer to be tuned, buy either a bluetooth (phone app) or bluetooth+USB+Key (phone and PC) dongle, and pay for a tune that will be locked to your tuner ( ). You can also access the tuning software yourself but 1. it is mega expensive and 2. these computers have a billion parameters that intersect, so how could you ever spend enough time on it to get a decent result.
