Hi guys. Bad news for me. I turned across 2 lanes of stopped traffic and just as I began to cross the 3rd a motorcyclist came into view. It was too late to stop so I punched it to try to miss him and due to the rain he couldn't stop in time and slammed into my rear 1/4 panel. I was meant to insure when I registered the car at christmas time, but due to the mad rush of the time of year, it passed my mind. Unfortunately, I am just remembering now...when I need it. So I guess I'm left to do the repairs myself. I've done a bit of searching for parts, but it is proving quite difficult. Anyone know where I could source a rear bar and AR-X flares (among other things). Anybody know good yet lower cost repairers in Sydney. I'll probably give it a hit doing a large amount of the work myself as I gotta keep cost low as poss seeing that I gotta pay for somebodies bike aswell. :/

And how is the motorcyclist you hit?

Alive, able to walk, in pain?

Yes what happened to the bike rider??

Sucks about the car though, once fixed please get insurance. Never know when youll need it.

There are flares on ebay man. Sorry cant link on phone. Think there is a rear bar aswell. Good thing its the tv tuner side and not attessa side . Not that its good what happened

Thanks Josh. Not sure if they're the same (AR-X) but i'l look into it.

g00d news aboiut the bike rider bad news about your car

I've got a dolphin freeway rear bar in my garage doiing f*ck all!, no front bar and i can't find one so if u want it i'll let it go for what i paid for it PM if ur keen

that is a rear quarter panel at a start. parts are easy via nissan local. if your local dealer won't help I can put you in touch with one that will or I can help you myself.

rear bumper is fine. that will heat and repair easily.

Have you looked on Yahoo Japan? Pretty sure I saw one on Monday.

Maybe get one ordered from Dolphin if you like the kit? I'm pretty sure they'd have a Dolphin front bar...

been e-mailing dolphin japan and brother inlaw as well (works @ just jap) and had no reply =(, but yahoo japan i'll have to check that out.

at the end of the day its a daily driver and i'm not real keen on big body kits i'd rather factory kits, thats y its sat in the garage for bout 6months

but it'd be happy to let it go as i'd rather the cash to go towards coil overs

I emailed Dolphin, no reply. I got Jesse Streeter to get in touch with them for me and got a reply within a day or so.

That said, the bonnets are discontinued, not sure if the other body parts they did are also discontinued? Worth checking out.

looks like only the quarter was affected, maybe some of the stuff behind the panel, there isnt much space in there

this is why you should at LEAST put 3rd party insurance on a car, what if you hit a $600,000 ferrari? youd have to leave the country lol

ha. Yea i.de have to leave on a boat. I applied online for justcar insurance today. Waiting for them to get back to me. Yes the police came. Only took them 5 mins in heavy traffic.

    • I seem to the be only person that is using a Haltech 2500 on an NA motor, I've installed a Bosch DBW throttle body to the OEM intake manifold and am having problems maintaining AFR even with the wideband o2.  It will run extremely rich at idle and up to redline, but under load it will go extremely lean in the 20s and i'm essentially having to rev it over 4k and feather the clutch to get it up to speed.  I've read a few other threads of about the butterfly, it seems removing the vacuum to it is supposed to have it remain open, i've noticed no difference under 4k with the vacuum line to it plugged.  I'm hoping someone here has had luck using the NA manifold with Haltech, and if they happen to have a tune for it.
    • I don't know any details, but I really wouldn't be surprised if they do it as a LHD only version, at least initially.
    • Thanks for the replies everyone. Definitely a coolant push. Oil catch can is empty and always has been. As the engine is out now I'll be having a good look over things. I do have some detonation on the piston tops from a trigger issue back about 5 years ago. I felt it and shut off then bought a new ecu and changed the trigger. Never been an issue since. It never hurt the power, its made almost 80hp more since that incident but I will pull the bearing caps to take a look. If the bearings are damaged I will do a bottom end refresh. Head is being re conditioned at the moment and the block will be cleaned and checked to ensure it's flat. I'll go with a kameari gasket and see how it ends up. The other thing I'm not super keen on is the cylinder colours. I suspect this is from the inlet manifold. The plan will be to put it back together, retune and then stick a plazmaman billet inlet on it and retune. I'm happy with the power, if it makes a little more, then great, but I would rather just make everything more efficient at this stage.
    • Maybe they'll look to do a bunch of presales to help inject some cash fast for their financial issues...
    • Does it also misfire equally when revving?   Josh is very correct in what you should do. The coilpack harness wiring loom itself is a known problem due to its age and the number of heat cycles it has gone through. Throwing parts at a vehicle to diagnose the issue isn't a smart or good way to do it. Secondly, you may have a bad coil pack, you pop replacements in, they fix that issue, but messing with the harness breaks it, so the issue persists. So now you think "well it wasn't the coil packs" and have to continue chasing your tail, potentially swapping back in your shit coil packs and returning the good ones (yes, I've seen people do this because 'it wasn't the problem' and they want to save money). And suddenly, you've got two issues with the same symptoms...   Diagnose, don't use the spare parts shotgun.
