bloody hell ive never been to an event with this much mechanical damage!

You haven't been around long enough.. Just wait until the cars start getting written off.. :)

Damn, who was the jinx?

there wasn't this much damage last time.

sorry to hear about everyones problems.

thanks for all the kind words.

please pm.regarding the 33 engine.

I think it was me being te jinx..:/

Mine was useless, BOV kept blowing off the pipe every run so NO power :/ then the coilovers shit themselves, to make it a trio the E85 I put in it was off and the car didn't make it home.....

Big thumbs up to Chookie and Ruxis for cruising at 40km/h with me for a few hours and a HUGE thumbs up to the HWP for cruising with me the last 1km before it died!

PS - SAU events must be some of the best organized events of their kind, awesome to meet some great people... Will get stuck into repairs and not be a clown next time out ;)

That sucks man

Good to hear members looking out for each other and awesome that HWP looked out for you too :)

Major bummer bout the car Luke :( Hope it doesn't turn out to be completely fatal mate :)

we can rebuild it, make it stronger, faster, we have the technology!!

worse case, new engine.

This thread needs skid vids.

PLEASE, SOMEONE, HAVE A VIDEO OF MY 2ND/LAST RUN!

then it will have been 1/2 worth it.

written off?

havnt seen that....

and you werent there when i broke my car.

What could be more fatal than a engine out rebuild?

Well everything inside his motor could be as good scrap! Its a built motor so maybe some of his good stuff can be salvaged and the man doesn't have to fork out more $$$

Not at sau events but I've been to plent of days that have.

But I told you a week before it was a bad idea.. Lol

Guys it was great fun timing you bunch today, I had a ball. Completely stuffed now, but satisfied.

Things I learnt. If you want to rip skids all day, put in some surprisingly quick times, and not have a bit of fuss, buy a 30 year old corolla!

Luke sorry to hear about your motor. I think I remember you being pretty enthusiastic on the first run....there was even a comment about bearings.... :(

Was organised fantastically, and credit should go to Eric, Steve, Dave, and lots of other officials for organising a safe, fun, and relaxed day.

Funniest thing I saw was the r34 NA four door, that swallowed a cone. I dunno where it went, when I looked in there susp there was only 1/3 of the cone left! It ate it I think

agreed more skid vids, i missed mats first run so devo'd so much smoke it was crazy

i got skid pics to come in a few moments

Only run of the day where the car worked :( felt like such a dumb ass taking out that cone, got battlescars at least :P epic noob!!

AWESOME day. Big thanks to all that helped out and make it run so smooth.

I got a few good videos of assorted cars, will put them up on you tube in the coming days and post the links here.

So tired now, time for sleeps.

Great to see everyone and also met a stack of new people.

I shall dream of skids tonight....... vrooom vrooom ! HAHAH

    • just an update to this, poor man pays twice  Tried sanding down the pulleys but it didnt do the trick. Chucked another second hand alternator in the na car which I got for free off my mate and its fixed the squelling. Must have been unlucky with the bearings.    As for my turbo car, I managed to pick up a cwc rb alternator conversion bracket + LS alternator for 250 off marketplace, looked to be in really good nick. Installed it , started the car and its not charging the battery.... ( Im not good with auto elec stuff so im not sure if this was all I needed to do but I verified such by using a multimeter on the battery when the engine was running and I was only getting 12.2v )   I had to modify the earth strap for the new LS alternator , factory earth strap was a 10mm bolt which did not fit the bolt on the LS alternator which was double the size so I cut it off , went to repco bought some ring terminals that fit, crimped it onto the old earth strap and bolted it up to the alternator , started the car and same issue. Ran like shit and was reading 12.2 at the battery.  For a "plug and play" advertised kit thats not very plug and play but alas.  My question is , am I missing something ? Ive been reading that some people recommend upgrading the stock 80 amp alternator fuse to a 140 amp but I dont see how that would stop the alternator charging especially at idle not under load.  Regardless ive pulled it out and am going to get it bench tested by an auto elec tomorrow but it would be handy to know if ive missed something silly or have done something wrong.
    • My wild guess is that you have popped off an intake pipe....check all of the hoses between the turbo and the throttle for splits or loose clamps.
    • Awesome, thanks for sharing!
    • To provide more specific help, more information is needed. What Android screen? What is its wiring diagram? Does the car's wiring have power at any required BAT and ACC wires, and is the loom's earth good?
    • So, now all you need to do is connect the 2 or 3x 12v feeds into the unit to permanent 12v, ACC 12V and IGN 12V that you can find in the spot behind the stereo, and the earth, and then it will switch on with the car.
